I think the point of these interviews is to get the nascar fan, who might follow that particular nascar driver, to consider watching SX. It seems alot of nascar drivers are fans of moto so the hope is to get that larger audience to consider watching SX/MX. I don't think the intent is as much for our fans to care to watch nascar or bring any awerness to that series other than the minority that do cross over.

If they see the interview aren't they already watching SX ?

NASCAR is not what it used to be, the new format sucks (I do like having more road races), I'll tune in on a sunday if there is nothing else on but only until the first commercial.

I stopped watching for awhile but over the past few years started again, I'd say the list is as follows.

1.Sx/MX

2. Nascar

3.Formula drift.

Seems like it was a big thing in the late 90’s to early 2000’s.  That went away.
I honestly know of no one in MN that watches Nascar anymore.
I do think they (nascar) shot themselves in the foot.
It seems to me that Dirt Late Models and Sprint Car racing has seen tremendous growth the last several years.
I scratch my head lately as it seems like SX has a million viewers each week. Nascar premier series is at 2.5 million viewers.
SX viewership is mote than the other nascar series, NHRA etc.

You look at the amount of sponsorship dollars with Nascar. You would think SX/MX would/could bring in more revenue.

I know one person in my entire life that follows Nascar and its mainly due to being able to gamble on it. Legit one person.

No, I watch the f1 highlights on YouTube and that’s boring enough.

I watch BSB,WSBK and MotoGP.

Living in Kannapolis off of RT 3 its kind of in your blood because your surrounded by it.

If you go tour the race shops the technology is pretty amazing and they are always looking for just a little more. I was hoping JGR could bring the technology part of it into moto.

For me the suspension and handling changes by making tiny adjustments is intriguing.

I think the crossover from other action sports would be more likely to actually translate: Skateboarding, Snowboard, BMX, Mountain bike, Rock climbing, surfing, etc.

That may be a smaller composite audience, but one with more core shared interests than road automobile racing -- especially that popular, but geographically/demographically specific series.

i.e. a mountain biker with a 100k following on social media may have more folks tune in to catch a segment than a car driver with 1.5M.

I grew up racing moto and racing karts and later late model dirt. Use to go down to Florida to hit all the dirt tracks when all the NASCAR guys would come in for Daytona and do some local races.

The format change was the last straw and completelygarbage. Cars are over regulated and boring. I catch the highlight races Daytona, Talladega ect. So maybe 5 races a year. And for the most part its on in the background or on the dash while im driving.

I did go to chicago race 2 years ago and man if they could just get some good weather that ra e would have been fun. But honestly like indy car its boring to me now. They have taken alot of the originality out of it. There's really nothing for me to geek out over either.

Your results for this are going to heavily depend on age and demographics.  At 52,  I was raised with moderate interest in watching the racing, but it was not a lifestyle or anything like that - no different than casually watching football on Sundays.  I think folks who have attended a race in person appreciate it a lot more, it is a very different experience sitting in the stands and makes it a little more enjoyable to follow the sport a bit, even if just casually to see how championships wind down, just like watching football, you don't have to watch every game to know how the season is going.

I think it is dying on the younger generations though, the digital age and short attention spans only see cars going in circles, not the amount of teamwork happening, the adjustments, the aggression and anger (drama), if you pay attention, there is a lot more going on than cars going in circles.   But..  you have to have mild interest to even bother.  NASCAR has tried to promote to different demographics, different cultures, different regions and tracks, changed up the series, the cars, I guess they haven't done a very good job - some changes have definitely pushed their core fan base away (I have definitely not been a fan of some changes).  People do not enjoy car racing (in general) as much as they used to.

I'm 60.  My dad raced dirt track stock-cars when I was a kid. I had zero interest.  I wanted a motorcycle. The only 4-wheel racing that has ever interested me, even a little, are F1, rally, shifters.  In my life experience, fans of motorcycle racing and auto racing are very different, with little cross-over.

I like watching the last few laps of the race, and sometimes even the stages of the more exciting tracks.  The camera coverage, in car views, and the surround sounds are great, and something SX should strive for.

If you watch it on a consistent basis, there is a need for calisthenics, particularly , abs!

I would much sooner watch a night of racing at my local dirt track VS watch NASCAR on TV. I think I went to two events at my local dirt track last year, and I haven't purposely watched NASCAR in 10-15 years. I love when the sprint cars come to town.

I watched nascar from the late 90’s until maybe 07-08 or so. But usually only the big races. I wasn’t tuning in every week.

Growing up until it closed I went to Old Dominion raceway a lot and watched the late model stock cars race. That was always a great way to spend a summer evening. Even when you weren’t at the races you could hear the cars from my dad’s house. Local races and especially dirt oval are tons of fun to attend.

I watch NASCAR, it is interesting to watch and when it is in the middle of the night it is mostly the best thing to see for me here in Belgica! The American sport culture is something I adore! At the moment I'm watching the World of Outlaws Late Models - Sunshine Nationals, after that I will be watching the Trailblazers (NBA).

its cool seeing conor zilisch (mx5 background) and shane vans gisbergen (aussie supercar background) absolutely wipe the floor with the og bubbas around a road course like sonoma, but no, not really. the stage racing format is incredibly gay. if the series was 90% road course and they went to a conventional race format id watch.

they beat third by 15 fking seconds in a single "stage" while battling....field is sort of a joke when it comes to turning right.

I dip in and out of Cleetus , used to watch all of his drag and drive stuff, and came across a guy called Mitch Stapleton, on Stapleton42  channel, he was at Daytona practicing for ARCA with Cleet, and he does some awesome old school Nascar Shop tours with some of the greats from back in the day .  It will either float your boat or it wont, but seeing him drive round with the likes of Mark Martin, and Lake Speed, looking at their old stuff is really cool.  Loads of stuff that just never got seen or talked about back in the day .

We got limited highlights here in New Zealand in the late 70’s and 80’s , then with our pay for view early 90’s got it live.

Was lucky to get to quite a few races in the 90’s and early 2000’s., favourite drivers then Dale snr, Davey Allison .

Then Dale Jnr, Tony Stewart, then lost interest .
Now back into it with SVG, from NZ, with a bike back ground and cross paths on many occasions, ( talking shit at a Flat Track race at our local track comes to mind)
