The Local MX Graphics Kit by OMXGraphics is designed for riders who want a sharp, modern, and well-balanced look on their dirt bike - without the noise and clutter. The layout follows the natural...
These days I do it once a year... 40-60 hours and they're pretty beat at that point. All in with plastics it gets expensive, so I try to go as long as possible.
Go for stock look and run them as long as I can. Motosport has inexpensive $40 backgrounds (shown on the KTMs) that I run. Only custom set was when I won a rival ink set during 12 days of Xmas here, my wife was going through cancer treatments so I added a tribute to her fight on those.
There are several companies that have supported me and my kids racing over the years and I've worked for a few of them too. Plus we are in the ministry through FCA Motocross. So always showing them all some love. I went with all black and white graphics this year.
I run the factory shroud graphics, Yamaha's inlaid graphics are great! On the numbers I run full backgrounds and only change them when I break the plastic. Last year at one race I broke one side cover in practice and then the other one during the race, freaking weird day! The last race of the year I broke my front number plate by hitting a tree, so my bikes got fairly new numbers on it now. I did splurge and get a full custom graphics kit and numbers installed on plastic for my sons crf110... I don't think I could...
Had one set that was really thin and destroyed them quickly. Thats when I discovered there was different thicknesses and a clear layer applied over top as the final step. The thicker the better.
I have gone through several graphics philosophies as my racing involvement has changed. When I was in my early days, I wanted my bike to look as much like a factory bike as possible. I would probably only choose whatever graphics the team ran, and almost always ran the same sponsor logos and products. During the middle point of my career (my fast days,) I would run my shop's race team graphics and add my personal sponsors as appropriate. Now I'm more like the Falcon of old; I just want my bike to look like Cooper Webb's, except with my...
- Run one graphics kit for a full season? Yes, I will usually run the same graphics for a full year. They're basically shredded at that point. - Change graphics every year? Yes, I'll update them when they're shredded with a slightly different look. - Swap styles when you change bikes? Yes, I will select a set of graphics that aligns with the brand I'm riding - Stick to one look (factory / retro / custom) or mix it up? Always similar style -- generally a plain/factory-modified look. - What is your riding level or type of riding (racing vs...
I usually do mine every season so roughly 60 hours, they are usually pretty haggered by then and I have probably broken a piece of plastic by then as well but as long as they wear holes in the graphics instead of peeling up I'm fine with that. Racing off-road is extra hard on graphics. I usually go with an OEM style look on the shrouds and just numbers, I dont need all the fake sponsors on the fenders.
15ish hours but i only run radiator guards and number plates… i use decal works and design something myself and run it, if i want to change it up i can right on the website.
I thought I was the only one, lol. I have like 13 dirt bikes, so graphics get expensive! I will admit, I have a couple bikes with number plate graphics, but most just have numbers...like these.
I'd rather spend $$$ on tires, chains, tires, grips, tires, oil, gas, food, tires. I change graphics when they wear out. Sometimes change looks/sponsors, sometimes not.
