Question for everyone on the New Supercross start time.

How is it working out for you ? I'm sure the folks on the east coast are loving it.

In the Mountain standard time it seems a little early. And on the West Coast starting while the sun is still out and glare on the track seems not quite right.

The new start time makes it difficult to go to a bar in the west and watch.

How does the early start time impact European and Australian viewers ?

It would be interesting to hear what viewer numbers are ?

It’s nice being done early when you’re there in person. Opening ceremonies feel lame though.

Straight up SUCKS....

Sx night show needs to be during night prime time... meaning 7 to 10... in a stadium with a roof... with ac or heat... with a beer vendor walking by every 20 minutes... thats real sx... anything else is feld f'ing the consumer over for their own gain....

Feld just ruining this sport at this point...

East Coast guy, here.

Used to have no problems with the races not starting until 10. I would just stay up late. But in recent years I’ve noticed that Father Time keeps telling me to go to bed earlier.

So, in short, I’m loving it. However, I could see how a 4pm start time out west must suck for you guys out there.

Starting at 7 has been great, but I could compromise and have an 8 o'clock start time. Staying up until 1am was terrrible. Most of the time I'd just watch the heats and then the mains the next day.

It's better for us in the UK, show starts around 11.30pm and finishes before 3am. Not ideal but better than before. Although if I was on the west coast watching at the stadiums I'd want the night show to be just that, night.

I'm west coast. Works fine for me. Retired (every day is a Sat). Just plan my Saturday for 4:00pm beer. Heck, I'm usually in bed by 8:00 anyway!!

Nine o'clock Sunday morning start time here is perfect for me. Race is done by noon, so no wasting an entire afternoon inside. Once they go back east, the start time will go back to 11 a.m./noon, though, so I'll have to plan Sunday errands around the race schedule again.

I love it so far on the east coast . From the couple of videos ive seen the early start hasn't stopped the white trash from getting drunk and fighting in the stands . Sounds like a win win.

The whole sport is moving east. California is lucky they get any races at all.

5pm would’ve been a better compromise in my opinion. We were on the sunny side staring right into the sun for the heat races. Granted it was hotter (sorry, warmer than normal) 😀IMG 9675 3

The big FINALE in Salt Lake is basically going to be a day race. The sun sets around 8:30mst(after the mains) that time of year

I’d prefer 8:00 pm est. That’s primetime anyway and it would allow for more racing under the lights.

I liked it. My son and I were able to jet out of there on the trolley and make it up to Sombrero's in Poway for dinner. We made it home just after 9:00 - all the way up in Menifee! Last year, it was almost midnight when we finally got home.

It does make it weird for the fireworks show, though. Not that I care too much about that.

Sombrero is good! When the fries are fresh, oh god watch out.

You’re in luck. East coast races start at 7:00 which is 4:00 PST. Without looking at the TV schedule, I believe all races start at the same time this year.

I understand that a lot of people prefer the atmosphere of evening SX races with lights on and so do I probably, but being able to watch SX here without having to wake up in the middle of the night is great. Makes a big difference for a lot of international viewers. 👍

Watch the west rounds next day as they start around midnight.
The East rounds are better they’re usually done by midnight

I know that live viewers are somewhat important to numbers, but you have to think here on the west coast you do lose some live viewers with everything starting so much earlier than say 5 years ago. I guess you probably make up more on the east than you lose on the west. The early end time is 'nice' in person, but the opening ceremonies during the day is pointless. Shooting fireworks into the bright sun is equivalent to burning money for fun. The entire 'scene' of opening ceremonies helps build the engagement of fans and heck, probably the riders too. Although I still wish it was later, nobody seems to care about football games starting at 5:15PST, why can't SX do the same?

I wait 2 hours after start time. Then join the live and start it from the beginning. I only watch the races and nothing in between. Usually finished within an hour and half and save me a bunch of time. Plus cause I am watching live less commercials.

New start time works for me.

Selfishly perfect for an older guy in Minnesota.
