Bondo - Weekly Complaint box

I have zero complaints about the broadcast today.  In fact, I was watching the entire programming all day from qualifying through each race, including the WMX and thought to myself "that was one of the best executed race programs I've seen from NBC in a long time".  Great work.  If we complain when the show is crap, we gotta give props when it is good.  Today, it was really good.  Great job to the entire broadcast crew.

To be fair, though, this IS a complaint thread. Better if you start a new compliment thread; it may even get more engagement.

please keep doing the long broadcast breaks where its just bike sounds.  so nice to not have someone talking for several minutes at a time today.

Indeed. My only micro complaint is this: Can Weege stop yelling and screaming when he comes back on after the break? I know NBC requires it, but come on. 

New year, same Bondo.  I'm watching Mosiman play a piano while a race is going on.

I wanted to watch the last couple of laps of the 450 main, but instead I got to watch Dazzy watch the last couple of laps of the 450 main…

And for fuck's sake get rid of Ricky and Will. They both suck.

After the finish instead of watching Kenny(3rd), Sexton(4th) or Savatgy(career best) come over the line it's goes to Jcoop for half a lap in 6th??

A huge talking point of 450 Q2 on Race Day Live was Justin Cooper's line where he stepped on, stepped off of the table top in the whoops. JB and AC were really going on and on about it, and then the exact moment that Cooper Webb attempts it for the first time, they cut away to Sexton (or whoever) rolling around.

Is the director literally not even listening to what the commentators are talking about?

Surprised I don’t see anyone complaining about the broadcast team switching to Mosiman playing a piano midway during the 250 main event😂

Anytime the battle for the lead is less than 1 second, the split screen should go away. Will should also go away as she is an embarrassment, Haley is sooo much better. Can not understand will, she speaks to much and too fast. Between her and Lee, enough of the accents.

I assume it's Monster related, but why so much air time on Kitchen when he is in 12th place.

My biggest complaint continues to be 7 different camera changes between the time the board goes sideways and the first turn so it's nearly impossible to follow guys on the start. Wide shot head on for the entire thing is all you need.

The racing was so good up front last night I somehow tuned out all three of the talking ding-a-lings. What I couldn’t ignore was the fact I need to go buy a 90” tv to try and actually view the battle for the lead. We never knew how good life was when the leaderboard scrolled across the top and split screen wasn’t a thing. 

At this point I think the broadcast team is fucking with us. The one major key thing is to NEVER show someone not racing while the live race is on. But here we are watching Dazzy and moisman playing piano. Straight to jail broadcast team. 

ADHD camera changes, and simply not following the race action so they can use a segment to talk about something 

I have pretty much given up on this. I can’t believe the constant mistakes of missing the actual race to watch someone roll around in 8th place while two legends for the second week in a row are less than 1.5 seconds out front. It’s all about the name game and plugging things into the “show” instead of focusing on the actual race at hand. 

Guy needs soap opera to produce because live racing they miss everything. I bet he watches the red carpet in his tuxedo dreaming it’s him who got the award for best picture. 

The replay of KRoc going off the track during the 450 final was irritating. Bondo put an overlay on the screen right where Ken was.

also they showed the wrong replay later on and failed to inform their announcers. 

on another one, they put a big red spot over "rider #1"...and then did nothign with it. that was new. 

amateur hour. 

Alright. I try not to complain about the broadcast too much. Fuck me last night was just absolutely awful.  

Yeah, I was hoping for the first turn view rider graphics overlay to fade as the gate dropped so I could lock in on a few riders. Instead got side view and Monster Girl view. Annoying. 

love watching the 6th 4-6th place guys ride around while the leaders are under a second and battling

Really didn't understand the constant shots of Dazzy.... if you're going to do that what about all the other parents of riders at the race?

Or better yet, just don't do it at all. We are tuned in to watch racing.

If someone falls in the first turn, they’re sure to show them picking up their bike while the race is going on. 

This is even worse in MotoGP, when they cut to 'atmosphere shots' of the team watching in the garage, we are watching them , watching themselves,not watching the race. 

Nobody gets to see anything that is actually important, right at he point where it is the most important. 

And dont show me the crowd cheering.  EVER.

There's only one thing that's going to get NBC to change--because as far they're concerned we're a captive audience. We'd have to collectively cancel Peacock for a week and let them know why in the cancellation form. Otherwise, forums like this are meaningless.
