This short front fender theme is horrible on all bikes.

Yeah I think the current KTM and the Suzuki are a good middle ground and nice proportions. I personally don't love the short YZF or Stark fender. It does appear this new KTM has sort of moved to a bit shorter one though, but maybe it's just the angle of the picture.

What is going on with the huge cuts on the airbox covers these days, same thing with the new honda coming up, they just look ugly as he'll.

No front fender has looked proper on an MX bike since the “Tony D” model Preston Petty fender from back in the early to mid ‘80s.  Everything since comes up short in the looks department. Change my mind.  😎

I’d have to see it in person but kinda reminded me of  an older ktm. Like 2000 or something. Plus that seat to tank junction looks kinda  uncomfortable

Why does the shroud extend like 1/4 the way up the front fender lol.

Herlings saw that fucker and was like nah bro I'm going HRC 😂

Does anyone know if this will actually be the 27 model, or maybe the 27 factory edition and 28 standard model?

Split clamp is usually only on FE bikes. Of course that could change, kinda anybody’s guess

But I’d guess since it’s been seen in the wild it’s an upcoming model.

By 2030 the front shrouds will extend beyond the front fender. (yes, I know the bars are turned).

Is the rear plastic more for hiding things or is that probably the final look?

They took plastic from the now close-to-extinct side number plates and added it to the shrouds points lol

The pointy radiator guard doesn’t look great in the pics. However, I really like the 25-26 plastics and these really aren't that different.

So obvious from the pic. New linkage rate, rake has changed to slacken .0133 degree, and the seat foam is 2mm lower to comp for ride height changes.

Company (Pierer Industry) already failed. Bajaj is coming out with a new bike.

I would guess its the 27FE  and 28 standard.   In the past the KTM team has been on the new FE's for the team photo shoots. They normally race the new generation as an FE model a year before they update the standard version.  They also have a history of making the frame on the standard model orange on its last year  the 26 regular bike is still black. They already released the 2026 FE with Tomacs number on it.  It would be a dick move by KTM to put the 2026 FE out and then put a second updated FE out shortly after.  So I suspect its a 27 FE and 28 standard.  Could be wrong  and KTM could be throwing their past way of doing stuff away.

I thought they laid off / fired most of their R&D when their financial crisis really came to light (Nov, 2024).  If that is indeed the case, a lot of this prototype model was probably already in motion at that time. The fact that they didn't totally shelve this update is promising.

Look at that chain slack. Are they testing how the bike feels with a loose chain? Either that or they are messing around with the rear end of the chassis/suspension, and now it has more movement and need more slack?

I know the past couple years they've been spec'ing looser and looser recommended slack for the change in the chassis back there.

What are the two things on the bottom of the airbox cover? The bottom one in particular looks like a bolt of some sort holding the cover on, hope not. That airbox design has been awesome, would hate to see KTM move back to requiring a tool for removal.

Edit: Probably just the subframe bolt with a weird window cutout for the airbox cover.

Looking closely, all I can see are:

Seat, tank, radiator cover, airbox cover, side plate, exhaust.

Looks pretty typical for ktm spec.

Yes, this might be just a bodywork refresh (similar to the 2022 YZ250 2-stroke).

Im gonna work on a rendering but it may take some time. If the bike wasnt so muddy it would be easier. I might make a quick version and then a more detailed mock up.

Ai will be great for stuff like this in a few years if they refine it more. I used ai to do an image search and it pulled up a lot of 22 ktms . I feel like ai might be able to put together somethi g decent if somebody took some time and knows how to use it well.  I have not had good luck using ai on stuff like this myself. But perhaps a mix of ai and old fashion photoshop might be the way of doing it quickly.
