That definitely takes some wind out of A1. This sport, man

On the contrary!
Now the race is on!

Actually the series will be better with him gone for a couple races! Or will he just ride around casually when back, looking for another worthless SMX championship?

Excuse my honesty, its a revelation seeing him ride but its fuxxng boring resultwise…

CW going for title #4!

Tell me a better/different way to report on this industry?  No stupid, "Just tell us" responses.  They gotta have access and that comes with restrictions.  You don't have to like it but that's just how it is.

The bottom line for a savvy fan is to know that whoever lines up on the gate is who matters.  Injuries have always been a big player in cships.   When the ground reaches up and grabs ya...it don't care how badass you are.  You get lucky or you don't.

This is a self fulfilling prophecy and the same logic should apply to every sport, but it doesn't.

Team X cuts you off and you say so and move on. Star has basically cut matthes off and he's doing fine. KTM has been pissed at ML and vital is doing fine. The teams and sponsors need the media just as much as the media needs them. This notion that everyone will just get cut off if they do their job is not reality. What it does require is for media to take themselves seriously as media members and worry less about friendships. That's the real issue, not an inability to do the job if they actually do the job.

This will be unpopular and get down voted but this is why I felt the “73 win” talk at 20 years old was putting unnecessary pressure on his career. He’s still young but man, back to back years is tough.

Stew went through it in 08 and 10 and it took a lot of wind out of his sails.

Pure gold.

While that may be ironic, it has nothing to do with the validity of my comment.

Min 3 months would have him missing more like 9 races, not a "Couple.

Shit!! I had a pretty similar injury. I had surgery and was non-weight bearing for 3 months, off the bike for 2 more months for PT. This was after it was misdiagnosed at the ER so it was a total of 5-1/2 months. Jett has the best therapy and treatment available so hopefully he'll be back for Nationals.

Even this year he was really frikkin good. Pretty much top 3 speed every round, his consistency led to the red plate even before his first win this season.. Sadly the chain derail completely took any momentum and chances out of it. I still think he can do it, specially like you said a lot of question marks right now with other riders.

Nothing would make me happier than Kenny finally getting his SX ship before retirement, but if I had to bet money on it, it would probably be on Webb..

I really hope it's a minor fracture to his talus. I broke mine in half and I've never really recovered. Several horror stories from vital members over the years about talus breaks. This news sucks.

I hear ya.  I ain't got an answer.  Tbh...Even though I love me some Jett...when he lines up or he don't...the show will go on and the winner will be the winner.  It's a gladiator sport and that's the truth.

Lewis and I both said this the moment the PR came out, we had no clue it was true. I asked a few sources yesterday and got no confirmation.

As truthful as that sounds on the face of it...yes...at the end of the season the guy who is fastest of those that survive is crowned champion.  Surviving is as important as speed and skill.  That fact kinda encapsulates this sport.

Same experience as you, long healing, and it bothered me and hurt like forever.

This plain sucks.

Sucks for Jett to be likely be out initially. He is the one to beat.

Given that, go ET3! I kind of think he is owed some good fortune for that achilles injury.
