I listened to the Prado interview today on Racer X and I feel like the biggest takeaway for me is that his shoulder was already junk when he showed up in the US, he got injured again during his abbreviated testing time here, then only made it a couple of rounds before reinjuring his already damaged shoulder. He really had no chance of success in 2025 from the moment he showed up in the US. Either he wasn’t honest with Kawasaki about how messed up his shoulder was to begin with or Kawasaki incorrectly assumed they could overcome the injury. Either way, it would be almost impossible for him to not be drastically improved in 2026 if he can continue to put together a healthy offseason of training and testing. Interesting interview, for sure. He certainly doesn’t lack any self confidence.

I thought it was a good interview. He did a better job of conveying his message than in the past. I don’t wish him any ill will. We are better off having him riding to his potential.
so if he was injured and not able to ride up to past form- what was the point of sending him out there to cruise around and not be competitive?
Still 4-7 in SX. Maybe little better in outdoors
Kawasaki regarding the lingering shoulder injury:

Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts

It’s not like his shoulder was hurt all thru outdoors and that’s why Harrison was beating him. What’s the excuse for say the last half of outdoors?
I dream of a competitive Jorge in outdoors, would bring a lot to the series.
That would be damn impressive. For him to finish 4-7 in the series, he would be beating some combination of Eli, AP, Webb, Chase, Hunter, Jett, Malcolm, Cooper, and Roczen to do it.
Looking forward to this thread staying on topic and not turning into the same shit slinging like any other thread where he's mentioned 🙄
I think it's gonna be hard for a rookie, as Prado called himself. He's only raced 6 SX races and 2 of them in mud. That's 1/3 of a season. Top 10 and just survive to gain experience should be the goal maybe?
I need to see results before I jump on board. Old enough to remember seeing him try to NOT qualify; which I've never seen before. Only results will dig him out of the hole his 'shoulder' put him in.
Damn, good post when you put it that way. He may not even make top 10 most nights!
God Weege is pathetic. ‘All you do is tell the truth man!’ He must of said that 12 times.
Prado says regardless he tries to win everytime on the track. Uhh you sure bout that?
I was thinking about last summer when he was talking about that 🤦🏻♂️
He was talking about how hard fights for every position 😂
We’ll see I guess.
He said his goal was to compete for top 5 by the end if the SX season. With his starts and talent that seems very reasonable to me. One thing different with his message is he clearly differentiated goal from implying an expectation. He stated his goals and made it clear he may or may not achieve them. If not, try again next year.
Sounds impossible when you read those names. But if he makes it through the hole series (big IF) he'll beat some of them just by virtue of them getting hurt.
7-9 in 2025 were Ferrandis, Jr Hill and McElrath.
I'd say he ends up 6-8 if he finishes all races. And I'd say there's a 20% chance of that happening. But if it happens he has a shot of a top 3 outdoors. Not even the best Prado beats Jett outdoors imo.
I thought it was all the bike and not him? End of season there was no mention about his shoulder just about how much the bike and team sucked.
More bullshit from a bull shitter.
You can’t say he’s not delusionally confident I guess.
He really like the kdm
Pit Row
Why did he throw the team under the bus and not try then? If he had the excuse of a shoulder injury, wouldn't it make sense to disclose that and use it as your excuse?
No doubt the guy can ride. Looking forward to seeing how he does this year as he was obviously uncomfortable on the Kawi...for whatever reason. Another top guy, on a bike he says he likes, should be fun to watch.
I’ll hold judgement until I see him in 2026. His attitude in 2025 made me jump ship from being a fan. I do hope he does better and gets back on track, but he should have sucked it up in 2025 and stayed quiet.
Good take man.
I think this is the first or only Prado interview where he opened up and talked. He didn't talk much about Kawasaki rather just about his new ride and optimism. Nice work Weege!
His best result at a dry supercross so far is 11th. Finishing anywhere in 4-7 range would be impressive for him. I was looking at his results and had no idea he got 5th at Ironman.
Very enjoyable. I think Jorge is very very intelligent/competent. Obviously NDA's have been signed but I think there's quite a bit we'll never understand.
Weege is on the Mount Rushmore of media personalities and broadcasters but this was really cringe, I hope Jorge’s balls didn’t bruise his chin too bad.
Between “I never quit and I line up to win and I don’t quit” and “all you do is tell the truth man” it was a difficult listen
Hes always been a people pleaser which is fine.
I think weege is the best in the biz in so many ways. He tries to remain neutral most of the time and call it without bias. I will say he pumped Jorge up in this interview quite a bit BUT I think he meant that his phrasing and honesty about the bike and scrutiny through the summer was something we don’t get from American riders. He certainly did say how he felt several times and in that regard weege was right IMO. I didn’t like what Jorge said and I think he’s delusional to say he tries to win everytime he’s on the track but I think weege was referring to other parts of the situation.
I definitely understand your perspective though
No doubt, this was taking the gravy though 😳
He was super cringe in the Era videos with brown and bam, but maybe some people like it.
Possibly because he told his bosses he was fit & healthy to race, with no hindrance and signed something to that effect.
(similar to when you take out an insurance policy)
It’s possible, that if he was carrying an injury, the deal was off, or the financial offer was lower.
