The new FIM Homologation rule only have 7 models, no Fox no Shoei… here is the list:
6D ATR3
ACERBIS AIRSTRIKE FIM RACING#2
AIROH AVIATOR 3 EVO
ALPINESTARS SM10
ARAI MX-V FIM Racing#2
BELL MOTO 10 GP
LS2 XFORCE PRO
Thats why the HRC team swich to bell next year, a lot of riders will have to get new deals, like febvre, seewer, the whole yamaha mx2 with troy lee… etc
Damn, that’s nuts. Isn’t Shoei one of the highest rated helmets on the market? Or are they just not really available in Europe?
No Fly formula? Isn't it one of the safest on the market?
FRHPhe-02 which is the new fim standard tests also for rotational impacts.
I think this was needed for helmet testing.
It will be interesting to see the resulting data collected through the season and quantitative impact this rule has on rider safety LOL obvious money grab, pay our certification or noone can race in your helmet

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
I wonder how this will work for events like MXoN.
The group that owns Fox also owns Bell so basically its a wash with Fox teams.
Be interested to hear from a manufacturer whether the cost to obtain a cert is keeping some from participating.
Are we sure that is a complete list? If not for the LS2 it looks like those would be just the first six helmets listed alphabetically.
And Just1 J18 (not the 22.05 version).

Note the sizes certified are not the full range for most models. Not sure why all are dated 2023.
The only models I can see available to buy are the 6D ATR-3 and the Alpinestars S-M10.
Only test addition I see for the FIM FRHPhe-02 is a hemispherical anvil impact at 7.5 m/s.
ECE 22.06 already has the others (like the 8.2 m/s flat anvil).
You have to pay to test every individual size so that's why most just pay to certify the smaller sizes that most athletes will wear. I'd assume that there isn't any actual construction differences in the other sizes.
Yes but the performance (g's acceleration measured) will be different with size. The head weight is different and all sizing/dimensions are slightly different which effects stiffness.
I also wonder what Arai had to do to their production model to get it to pass. Does the "FIM Racing #2" version actually incorporate some technology for rotational forces?
I think they have a new model coming out as the current one is about 400 years old but the one in the photo looks like the current model but a different name (which isn't that uncommon for many brands in other countries).
The standard doesn't come into effect until 01/01/2026, still time for manufacturers to get their helmets certified.
When MotoGP did this several brands were having to use other brand's helmets and painted them to look like their own. It didn't seem to take but a few rounds for everyone to get their stuff changed and/or tested to comply with the new ratings though.
First tests are dated 2023 because FIM launched their FRHPhe-02 testing program in November 2022.
Manufacturers had 3 years to get ready for 2026 when this certification will become mandatory for FIM off-road competition.
Fly is on the list now.

Am I seeing that list correctly: Only certain sizes are FIM compliant? What happens when only Small/Mediums are certified and riders wear a Large+ lid...
Pit Row
Those new top end Fly helmets with the phone app are nice. I’d guess that’s the model that made certification, it said S but I guess it’s Carbon S. Comfortable as Fly helmets are the Carbon S doesn’t fit me, googles ride down on my nose. Had to send it back. Upper end Bell is no slouch either, what I ended up with.
Surprised the homologations granularity was down to helmet size. I’d thought model, but must be more to it therefore size.
Seewer is not anymore under contract with SHOEI...
