Kailub Russell Robbed of 17 bikes

All the experts…

I think all the experts left because there's a few guys who deleted their posts after they realized they were wrong.

#expert

Who ever said it was in CA?

Hopefully this inspires ppl in this thread to put an airtag on your bike. Hide it somewhere like on the back of the battery under electrical tape or something. Theyre only $25. If he had put some air tags on his bikes he literally could have called the cops and shown them in real time where the bikes were going. Sucks for him in hindsight, but hopefully it helps someone else in the future.

If airtags worked the way we would like them to work then this would be possible, but unfortunately they tip off the thieves which allows them to find them.  AirTags also need an apple device connected to the network to ping their location and thieves know this.  So they can shut off their cellular radios while they transport the bikes and search for the hidden airtags.

Unless the bikes were stolen right before them moment Kailub woke up, the AirTags would have been long gone by then.

If you really want a GPS tracker that will work, you will have to pay for a service.

What the hell are these assholes going to do with 17 ktm team race bikes?? It doesn’t seem like it would be hard to find that amount of very specific stolen property being listed for sale,

From RacerX..

"The eight-time Progressive Grand National Cross Country (GNCC Racing) Champion said he posted a bike for sale on Facebook Marketplace, but a friend recommended deleting it since he knew someone had been robbed following a similar post. Russell said he deleted the post and when his family woke up this morning, his wife saw the garage completely empty."

This strikes me as weird. He posted a bike for sale, but his friend knew someone that was robbed...from a similar post? What exactly was similar, just the fact that it was for sale? And then he actually listened to his buddy? I guess these guys never sell anything because someone got robbed somewhere? Is the suggestion that the robbery did or did not have anything to do with the ad?

And someone got 17 bikes loaded without anyone noticing? You'd need at least a 24ft box truck or trailer and you'd have to really jam them all together. You'd have to park a bit away because there's going to be some noise opening and closing truck/trailer doors, setting down and picking up a ramp, getting the bike up the ramp, etc. It's all very possible, but my first reaction is not to automatically believe this story.

These guys arent taking time to strap down these bikes or take care of them. Probably parked up the drive a bit and just rolled the bikes in and threw them down. Then took off with the back door closed.

The reality is if the cops really want to find them... they probably can. I don't know the area where he lives but there will be roads leading to the property. And the amount of roads is not giant... a good detective can canvas the area and ask houses around that area for camera footage.. and there will be cameras at intersections for those road leading to and from that house. Get that film  for a few hours around when the bikes were taken and bingo there will be box vans or trucks that drive by. It's not that complicated.

The question is does local law enforcement care? If they don't they won't do this work. They will blow it off. But if they do... they can do this research.

I had a house I was building broke into 3 times during construction. In a gated community. The cops didn't care at all.... had zero interest in collecting finger prints, shoe prints etc. They blew it off.

Hopefully Kailub has a relationship with some locals that will care. And they will do the work.

Quit letting George Soros get DA's appointed with his money and things will start improving. Not to get political but the shit rolls downhill.

You can have a motion-activated audio happen. Make it say you want the cops or an ak-47? This can also wake your ass up, have that ak ready and waste them all. After a few incidents or so, it'll be a rare thing. Well, maybe in those blue places it'll be biz as usual.

Hold on a minute……you know how many innocent criminals are in jail because they couldn’t leave their phone at home so it could at least coaberate the story that they used to say they were at home…….there are prisons full of innocent people.just ask any inmate.

How big of a truck would it take to put 17 bikes in, even if they was just piled up. Also how many guys would it take to get it done pretty quick?  Just cannot imagine how this went down and no one seen anything or heard anything. Looks like bike stands laying on there sides and we all know what they sound like when they get kicked over.

I was hoping by now that maybe some info would have surfaced. Just with some sort of box truck or whatever it took to haul all of those bikes, I figured maybe someone may have seen something or caught something on camera, close to KR's house. but like a few people have mentioned, the cops probably don't care and may not put too much (if any) effort into searching cameras in the area. That's a real shame though, because to get that many bikes, it must be a pretty serious operation. Plus, with bike stealing becoming a big thing, it puts our safety at risk, with people breaking into our home's. It's not just about the bike's themselves but having sketchy people on the property.

Can they use phone location services to find out who was there? Like they did in DC on Jan. 6, or in CO when that guy murdered all the college kids?Assuming they had phones with them.

I am sure they could but.. I had a friend that thieves broke into his garage and took 3 bikes. the cops came and looked over the place and said they would value the bikes at 100 each cause they was unseen, and when asked about dusting for prints they said what do you think this is csi.

Yes they can, and it’s especially very easily done in a lightly populated remote location like this as there would only be a few cell phones pinging from that specific location/sector. But that requires investigation and subpoena to the wireless carriers, which will likely not happen since no one was harmed.  At the end of the day it’s just stolen bikes to the cops and doesn’t mean much in a lot of these states.  You can often piece together the investigation yourself with solid evidence and they still won’t act. Then there’s also the chance the thieves have burner phones with prepaid Sims, etc.  Kailub will either get lucky and get some traction from a “small town sheriff” who is wiling to help, or he will have to hire his own private investigator to get traction.

Really sad that this is how it is today in our country.

This is sarcasm, right?

That would require a DA assigning detectives to go all in to investigate along with the FBI, and they aren't doing that for theft.  High levels of law enforcement are loaded with violent crimes that always take precedence.....and because the consequences for crimes is weak as hell, the cycle will continue until the punishments fit the crimes

I had my intense mx tazer stolen from my local college campus while I was in a class for 30 minutes. The dudes watched me park and walk through campus. I was pissed I hadn’t gotten around to putting an air tag on it. I looked into ways of finding it and posted the charger for sale hoping someone would need it and I could catch them. As well as got the campus to watch the video but the thieves knew the area and stayed out of the cameras well.  After more reading I learning bike index was my best chance of getting it back. I followed their instructions and two days later I got a message from them they had found my bike. Sent me pictures of it for sale in market place even and confirmed it was mine. Only rule was I was not allowed to contact the seller as they were helping the fbi build a case on the ring. Turned out it was a group that came from a larger city that targeted campuses specifically and they would fill a truck in a day and ship them to Mexico. My bike was posted by a what seemed like a legit shop in Juarez Mexico. The team had been caught a year ago and 9 cartel members were charged with over $1 million in bike thefts but they couldn’t shutdown the shop that was buying and selling them in Mexico. The team rebuilt and was out at it again a year later. They were smashing through the store fronts and stealing entire inventories with a semi truck in Denver and driving away at night. Luckily I had full insurance and the company even covered the lock but it was my second downhill bike to get stolen that I had owned less than a year. I hate thieves and they made it clear that even if I had an air tag I would’ve seen it hauling ass south and never stopping. I’ll find the article of the arrests and story it’s pretty wild.

Now I have motion detection on my entrance road that is hidden and notifies my house and shop. My two large dogs go crazy when it dings. Then motion cameras that notify my phone on movement and tells me if it’s a person or vehicle. Then 6 cameras around the property, security system that’s always armed and makes noise from the cameras. It whistles first then turns the alarm on inside and out as well as all the cameras. If I sell something I meet them at a county building that has 24 hour staffing and cameras. Thief's suck

Edit: here’s the link to the article. Bryan Hance is the man and the dude that found it for me.

Another fun deterrent is electric fences. I keep seeing them the up around salvage yards and whatnot. I have one around my property for livestock and I oversized it for a just in case situation like this. I got the wildlife deterrent version made for elk, bison and wild boars. I touched it one day on accident and it is no fun.

I don’t do it but I talked to a guy that uses two air tags, one with sound easy to find.  Another with sound disabled.  Never heard of it but you can remove the speaker.  It’s not intended as an air tag function but guy I talked to said he does it.

I just happened to see a story this morning about Singapore making caning a mandatory punishment for online scammers. It's also a punishment for theft - a brutal, incredibly painful punishment.

https://www.the-sun.com/news/15456925/

Here in Canada, if you're getting robbed you pretty much have to invite the thieves to stay for tea. Toronto police actually put out a public service announcement telling people that when someone breaks into your home, they usually want your car keys so they can steal your car. They suggested that to avoid dangerous confrontations, citizens should leave their keys somewhere near the door where they're easy to find. Really, I'm not making this up.

https://globalnews.ca/news/10359055/leave-car-keys-the-front-door-to-avoid-home-invasion-toronto-police/

Guess which country has a lower crime rate: Canada or Singapore?

He gave an update on IG a couple of days ago. He did have cameras. Three guys. Two trucks-one with a trailer. A guy going fishing saw the trucks on the side of the road down the road from his driveway with orange bikes layed over in them. I used to own a mobile tool business and I fix and flip ATV’s and race hare scrambles with my son. My neighbors knew things going into the garage without me being there was ok. Things leaving the garage without me being there warranted a phone call and an explanation of who and what they were doing there. My next door neighbor even took it a step further and would write down license plate numbers just incase if it wasn’t a vehicle he recognized.

He, and his family are safe.

I see your point, but hopefully these guys get caught and severely punished and/or beaten. Preferably beaten.

It's probably because you felt the need to point out your not a GNC fan.  That takes the subject and brings it to yourself.

Doesn't matter,  didn't need to be said.

Just trying to help...
