If only I didn't get hit with a phone in hand violation and 30 points added to my FMCSA score 6 months ago...I didn' even have it, he said he saw me looking down. Yeah, at my air gauge, my tire was going down on the trailer..but instead of a ticket, he did a truck inspection so I couldn't go to court and fight it. And it was a state law in Minnesota at that. No wrecks, no tickets, or prior violations on my record and I lost my job over it and now no one will touch me because of insurances refusing to cover me. Absolute BS.

I knew a guy who drove a oil/gas truck. The small ones that deliver to farms etc. He took an exit off the 70mph freeway and his employer told him he was going too fast for the exit. No wrecks, no tickets, nobody called to complain about his driving, perfect driving record but some tracking device said he was going too fast and he got reprimanded. He was pissed.

Another team pays drivers 27k and wonders why they can’t find good ones.
The corporate team drivers seem to do pretty good. And they run an awesome bar-b-q, too. 🤣

Jeez, that's even worse than I thought. By comparison, I made 93k my first year in trucking, and it's gone up since then. Regional, home every weekend, no-touch freight. I didn't have to set up one tent or barbecue for anybody.

So Pro125 applies and spears the interview, driver and mech. First order of business is to take out the driver and passenger seats and replace it with a Pro-moto lift, so he can work on the bike while driving. Extend the sleeper for a couple hot Albanian working girls that he can make the moves on while wrenching on the bike and still driving. Then blacken out the windows so the Russian mob guys can't see he's working and take their cut.

If Star needs an experienced truck driver, they need to start looking for retired drivers with a pension.
They need someone who loves the sport, doesn't need the money to survive, and doesn't need to go home very often.
But that driver needs to be spry enough to drive all week, work all weekend, and keep going next week, every week, all year, with a couple of scattered breaks.
Or they could hire some kid with a brand new CDL. As much as I love moto, and I have the qualifications, I couldn't take this job.
Most team drivers are being paid $85-110K per year and bonus's when the team wins.
Just the factory teams where the staff are employees of the company. Ktm, kawi, Honda maybe some more experienced drivers are making that but highly doubtful
Yeah, but that likely includes such perks and covered living expenses like a cot in the parts room at the goat farm, being allowed (required) to run the tractor and cut 300 acres of grass, and getting to snap the throttle and clutch on Deegs practice bike once or twice a week. 🤑

I’ve got a friend that’s been driving for one of the Austrian brands for as long as they’ve been a team…he gets flown home between races allow it/don’t have long tear-down days and he’s pretty damn stoked on his job. He’s got benefits and all the perks of a corporate job.
I’ve known a few of the drivers over the years…ones that’ve done it for a long, long time. They’re certainly not the “$31K, sleeping on a cot, mowing the back forty, changing Deegans throttle guys” some are posting about.
And like I said, many of them run one helluva Bar-B-Q.
Years ago I had to meet the Kawi driver out on the road to pick up a bike from them…that was many, many years…ago….then, more than a decade later I had to drop off a bike at the truck at another “remote location”…it was the same guy. He’s a legend and he LOVED his job. The new guys that have his job these days…also seem to love it.
Now, I’m sure there are some teams that are not paying a whole lotta $…but, even at Star…I’m not seeing these “tales of bread-crumbs” that are the tale around here. I’m not saying they don’t exist…but, again…not seeing it on the known factory team level.
But, I digress.
I would love to have a job in the industry but the pay across the board for all positions is just incredibly low. Love the industry but know your worth!

Thats terrible pay for full time OTR. Ive been driving a truck last 4 years. I can't imagine how hard I would laugh at someone if they offered me that. Heck Circle K offered me a job hauling fuel for 80k first year working 4 10s home every day. Why anyone would do that is nuts.
Does being a driver exist of Jan through September pay ? 60k-70k for 9 months i could see.
Have heard stories of no per diem either while traveling
I think I’m going to send a resume but, does anyone in here have actual first hand experience with what I’d be getting myself into? Seems like a bunch of speculation in the posts.
Cooking,cleaning up after the riders and crew on race weekends. Setting up and tearing down the truck, shopping for supplies and food. Sleeping in the truck while on the road. Id assume 45-75k tops. Best of luck

I have had a CDL since 1990 and have never used it professionally or in a commercial setting but getting one used to be difficult, not anymore in washington or California...lol
