Is he skipping the 250 west coast and gonna start racing in the 450 class or do 250 west and maybe 450 on the east coast?

JT said he might do some 450 sx if they think hes ready. By ready, obviously not to win. But at least be respectable and not get smoked

If Deegan intended to do any 450 SX, his wildcard entries in WSX would have been the perfect place to start, but he’s entered in 250s.

He could try racing 450 in WSX and see how it goes.

I'd say Roczen, Tomac, Webb, Cooper, Anderson are as good a benchmark as any.

He will be on a 450 at A1. Centre of the SX universe, new fox deal under the bright lights. Will do the first 3, if he’s doing well they stay the course while still calling it a “learning year” if it doesn’t go well, he goes east and cleans house in the 250 class- takes the pressure off for outdoor debut because he was busy winning the 250 title.

Can’t say I agree with most of what he says off the bike and the Shimoda SMX episode was a disgrace, but who can say they genuinely don’t like watching the show?

Yeah, no chance. But, would love to be proved wrong. If he did the opposite coast on 450 that would be epic as he tries to clinch his final 250 title.

Controls the narrative, dominate the media, put sponsors front and center.

On one hand... he could use this year as his rookie 450 sx year to learn and adapt... and just get it out of the way... his smack talk won't work in 450s, nor will his aggressive riding, but he'll have plenty of material for instabangers....

On the other... he's not as good at sx as mx, and he'll b going up against a future goat in jett... and..  he's coming off a complete meltdown in smx... so imo... better to grab one more 250 sx title, cause it might be his last title of any kind...

His aggressive style has worked wonders for eli, i’d say he’s fine, He’s not a friese, I can count on one hand how many people he’s taken out, yeah it may be a bad look, but he’s no barcia or friese. I think he will use WSX to fine tune his sx skills and advance them.

I 100% think he should do 450 in WSX. Why? Because it's a win/win.

if he does great, his confidence will rise and he looks great!
if he sucks, he can laugh and say "Man, that was fun! Barely even ridden the 450 so it was fun to just give it a shot!" and nobody can really flame him.

My .02. If you disagree, you're wrong. ;-)

How many fingers you have on that hand? Just off the top of my head Coty, Joe, Jordan, Drew, Juju, Cole, Ryder......

And I'm sure I'm missing a few.

The point is, yes its a bad look to take someone out, but he is no barcia pre kids or friese.

Im shocked at the people thinking 250 SX is a guaranteed championship for him.

I dunno man, nothings guaranteed but to me him winning SX is the same as the likelihood of Jett in his last 250 year.

I don’t see the Deegans allowing Cole to be on the same coast and I don’t think it would matter that much anyway, despite a slow start last year he was the best of the field.

Another thing to note is watching him ride the 450 on sx it’s nothing like how he rides the 250. He doesn’t look like Barcia as if he’s “over ridding” the bike over revving constantly.

They only take two wildcard entries per class per round. 450 is full.

Hes by far the fastest 250 SX rider ,obviously things happen that prevents the fastest guy from winning the title.

Imagine getting down voted for simply stating facts.

The only 450 wildcard entered for Buenos Aires is Justin Cooper... so far.

For Australia it's Tomac and Webb but I'm sure WSX could find a way around that, Deegan first 450 SX races would generate so much more interest in the series, they wouldn't let this opportunity pass (if he so chooses).

I like to think of the down vote as the electronic version of a temper tantrum.
