30 hours on a 2025 CRF250R, and there are two orange blinks on the map switch, indicating a MAP sensor performance issue. I cleaned the connections, the outside of the sensor, and blew a bit of contact cleaner around the nozzle entrance. I also tightened all the connections to and from the throttle body. The warning code went away for a day, then came back.

I posted and called around, and am hearing folks are having this exact issue with VPT4+. VP denied they have heard anything.

How does it run then ? For AX tight racing would you race a crf250we is supposed to be 2-st snappy in 1 mode.  Longer wheel base would help for the whoops .  Or a 04 cr125 DBP c12 engine quick hit  if you keep momentum .  I can get inside of a 250f in corners flat or bowl.

I had a problem with T4+ in my YZ 450. It swelled up the o rings in the fuel pump and I’m not sure the exact reason if it was boiling or what but mid moto at wide open throttle my bike would cut out. I talked to Keefer about it and he said he had the same issue. I changed the o rings in my fuel pump and just ran pump gas and issue went away. I want to switch to ETS fuels but there’s no dealers in upstate NY and there shipping is almost the same price as a pail of fuel. I asked my dealer about the T4+ and he said there has been a few people with same issue.

Yeah I heard about this issue. I still don’t have a definitive explanation for exactly what’s happening on the Hondas but multiple people who run T4+ on the Honda have the same issue in the last couple weeks, and two tuners I trust confirmed that there seems to be something up. I’ll pull apart the throttle body and test some things out and see if pump gas fixes it.

Unless people have full mod motors why you wasting cash on race gas? I get consistency but then they don’t stand behind it anyway…

This has absolutely nothing to do with you guys, but I was running VP Ryan Lutz blend racing RC for two years. I have never replaced more crank bearings in my life, and it was turning my pistons black. I mean anodized black. Switched fuel supplier and couldn't be happier!

Have you tried running pump gas to see if the issue goes away?

Did it change your wheelbase by putting the fuel in? Guess this is known to happen.

I got a bad case of VP once when I was racing RC. I fought issues with my engines not holding a tune, flaming out, snapping rods, for months. I was changing engine brands and trying everything. I finally bought a new can of fuel and all of my issues went away instantly. That bad case cost me a couple grand in engines and a lot of frustration. I still have a OS Speed in my garage that grenaded on me as a reminder.

VP had contaminated batches they admitted to I struggled with my '23 XCF350  started throwing parts at it like injector/plugs/filters etc. It was the VP fuel I got the batch #from the can and was one of the contaminated batches. Been using pump gas since and runs fine but wow it can lead you astray thinking this should be the last thing that could be bad.

T4 is supposed to be a consistent replacement for pump gas, not really “race” gas…if you have a vortex, min octane is usually 95, so most pump gas is below that rating…I used to run T4/in my 350 due to having a Vortex, never any issues but I did notice it ran better with 50/50 T4 & pump vs straight T4….I have since found a local Sunoco that sells 94 octane at the pump, bike runs great….sucks when you trying to run the good fuel and it causes issues…

No kidding.  I run Q16 in my drag car.  The fuel makes power, but $27/gal is hard to stomach.

If you want consistent and really tightly tested fuel. 100ll is the move. Go to a small air strip with self serve stations and fill er up. Probably $6/gal now too.

That's what I have been doing for years. No issues with two strokes or four strokes. At $5.25 a gallon, I'm happy with it.

I just switched to T4+ yesterday because my bike kept cutting out running U4.4.. almost put me on my head last weekend. The bike ran great all night last night.

Watch 02 AX Demuth, Chad Johnson& Wiloh where super quick on the 02 cr125. I think there quicker than in 23-25 .  A 04 is alot better than a 02 modded. Oh yeah IMG 3749 9.jpeg?VersionId=p1csSBMOleisB

You should’ve raced the Huntington Beach AX.

Would’ve been cool to see you rip the CR around the track in front of the whole crowd!
