Because all those guys are UNPROVEN in USA... So it's always a bet he takes with good outcome! Damn that guy good too much luck!
And everyone says he wanted very much money but do anyone of you know that for sure?
No you don't know that for sure because you all are coutchracers from the worst sort!
One World title, second in both US nationals series... which he was very unlucky not to win both. and won two SX titles in two years... and coming back for a major injury. That is impressive.
I am not French or American... so not Bias by nationality either.
Both are great - is CP as talented as MC? in my opinion yes he he is. Does he have the titles in the 450s nope ...but his record is better in the MX2 class. and the the talent pool in the 450s is deeper in 2011 than 1993... and he is living and racing in a different country racing an American sport - so it is harder for him than MC. He will never beat MCs records, I cant see him living in the US for seven more years for one thing with the abuse he takes either. It is apples and oranges.. you can't compare.
MC was also amazing but more so supercross, he will always be the King of Supercross to me and still looks class on a bike. I thought Jeremy would have been a fan of Pourcel because of the way he rides so smooth and fluid like MC.
McGrath has a point that what CP is doing isn't that smart... but apparantly CP has a 450 Pro Circuit ride anyway.. so I don't think he really cares.
The lites class is a learning class/stepping stone for the premier class here in the states.
CP has not proven himself on a big bike here in the States.
SX is a huge part of the sport here,CP is good, but he is not top shelf til he wins a championship on a 450.
Everyone in the industry that has spoken about CP has said that he was asking far to much, that is why he couldn't come to an agreement with anyone. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure that out. Also from the buzz in the industry, riders are pretty much riding for pennies on the dollar compared to what they were riding for a few years back or so.
But maybe you are right, maybe he is just scared to lose on the 450,that is why he didn't sign anything.
Christope Pourcel is the only guy where Bubba is scared of (he said this in one of the SX'10 Television shows)
And if SX a huge part is of the sport they don't need to judge him on his lost outdoor titles but on his two SX Titles he won! And that pretty easy. Like he played with barcia and then won that main event!! EPIC! If he is after the starting gate he will show the world and the industry that they where wrong.
And the industry is just poor ... He maybe asked as much as he asked two years ago...
Bye the way if you think that your crusade is over then you didn't saw Muquin and Roczen! When those are on full speed the Americans won't win there own SX championship!
I also agree, his SX Championships were remarkable and should hold serious bargaining weight. But if the money isn't there (in their budget) no one can give it to him.
Guys like Dungey & Stewart had pretty much locked in deals.
Reed on the other hand couldn't get a ride either and he is one of the best in the World on the 450 in SX, and he has proven it.
Also there were rumors last week I read that CP might end up on Valli....Who knows?
I guess if that happens,it will be interesting to see how he does up against Reed,Stewart,Dungey,Canard & the rest.
As for Marvin & Ken coming here and racing SX,only time tell will tell how they will do also, that is the reason why they race.
As for James being afraid of CP LOL,James has a sense of humor and likes to joke around from time to time.
Something tells me whatever country this guy is from we should of just let Hitler have his way in Europe.
To toke your pills is smoking them. --Not sure why you would but I've heard of people smoking Oxy.
If you took your pills that's ok.
He sure as hell is not helping Pourcel with the fans here in the USA or any other Foreign riders for that matter...
No fans to support a rider and buy the products they endorse -NO RIDE for them!
It's guys like MXMattii's fault CP doesn't have a ride. LOL
I bet if Pastrana wanted to come back and race SX,the teams would throw money at him.
Pit Row
GEEEEZZZZZUUSSSS CHRISSSTTTTTTT!!!
WE ALL NEED SOME CHURCH.... SO HERE!
Until CP can top MC's scoreboard, then there can be no debate. He took on all comers, beat em all, and stayed on top for as long as any mxer can expect to stay on top. Don't forget in addition to all of the results people have already posted, he flat out dominated the des nations too. He was a complete racer. CP has some work to do to even begin to match MC's results and if he is sitting on the sidelines those results will only get tougher to reach.
Come on people-common sense.
And I don't know anything about your country(whatever the fuck LVA is), much less care, and couldn't give a rat's ass about you, either! Go fuck off and find a forum in YOUR country to pester, Oh wait, let me guess, there aint none!
Ride much?
MC was spot on.
Have a good night guys.
"I’ve read and heard many of the things that have been said about me and my pursuit of a ride for 2011 and nothing I’ve seen has accurately portrayed the situation. I prefer to conduct my business dealings in private but feel this situation needs to be addressed publicly to combat the misinformation that is out there. The only thing that I have asked for or have sought, has been something that would provide me with a program that is comparable to the way that that my competitive set of riders are being compensated and supported. I am not "holding out" for a specific amount of compensation as has been stated by a certain corporate spokesperson, but I have sought and continue to work toward a deal that allows me to have the resources I need to be competitive and to plan for my future after racing.
"I understand that times are hard for everyone and economic realities apply to me too, but I have to have access to the same type of resources that my competition have in order to be competitive with them. I’ve invested the results of my success so far in the United States back into the United States and hope to be able to continue to race there and enjoy the way of life there, in what I consider my second home country.
"We are currently working on options that would allow me to do that and hope to have some news soon. I’m working hard so that I can continue to compete in the sport that I love and has been the passion of my life for as long as I can remember. I can’t thank the people who believe in me enough, and their continued support will get me through this challenging time."
Sounds like CP isn't too happy with McGrath...maybe you guys can cut him some slack, He wants to race in the US and is putting something together he is happy with... what is wrong with that?
Let the nationlism go..
He is a genius on a bike... just enjoy watching him ride.
