This pertinent information surely deserves its own thread.

I'm sure people are tired of opening the 50 page thread of nothingness in the other Kawasaki 2 stroke thread. Figured I'd start something new

Good idea. Two threads of nothingness is always better than one.

Let's be honest. We all know that if there is any mention of a new full sized Kawasaki 2-stroke at any of the upcoming bike shows, it is going to be in the form of a small picture of a fork guard or swingarm and more two stroke revving sounds. You guys may as well go buy a two stroke from a manufacturer who actually has them for sale.

Yamaha FTW. I have yet to see a bike that is, all around, better than a YZ 250

Yeah, but then there are those of us who rode the whiz out of the first couple years of aluminum framed YZ250's 20+ years ago.

I have absolutely no desire to go back and re-live 2005 ,

Not mechanically anyway. Over it.

I absolutely agree with you, but sadly, at least to me, it is the best package. I would LOVE to see a new CR 250 from Honda, with 20+ years of development, instead of a 2006 YZ 250 with updated body work. Until that day, I am happy with my YZ.

The 250 KTM is better, maybe by a little - and even that is debatable, and a matter of opinion.   The 125 on the other hand, is Yamaha's since the Austrians decided to fuel inject it.

As the proud owner of a 2025 yz 250 I wholeheartedly disagree with this statement, as a race bike. For racing, The 2017-2022 Ktm 250 are far superior to the yz 250.

Furthermore as a competitive race bike the 23+ Ktm 300 is better than both those. Unfortunately KTM shit the bed with electrical issues and consistent performance on their TBI smokers. But when they ran as designed they are so much better than a yz250 and even their own 2017-2022 bikes. I Owned and raced a 17,18,20,22 Ktm and then a 23,24,25 Ktm 300. Racing Vet against a pack of 450’s on those Ktm’s and now the yz 250 and I’m working way harder on this yz than I did on the ktms. The 23+ 300’s are 450 like easy to race.

Now I can agree with you that the yz250 is one of, if not the most fun play bikes. But the Ktms are fun too and race way better IMO.

just watched Stew Baylor's YouTube vlog this morning. He travels to Japan to "ride" dirt bikes at Kawasaki's private track with some others. He videos himself traveling there, touring the city. He also videos checking out Kawasaki's headquarters. Show a glimpse of the track. But never once mentions what he is there for or what he rode. So to me I would guess they were riding new models.

Anyone have a good explanation for why this is all such a secret?

The 150 and 300 was said by Steve Matthes on PulpMX. Other rumored models are from "Dealer Reps" that I've seen in this forum, obviously everything should be taken with a grain of salt lol

Maybe a pound of salt . Until the info comes directly from Kawasaki, it is unsubstantiated.

Exactly.

I talked to friend of mine that works for Kawasaki. He said all he's heard is a 300. But he admitted they're not sharing any info. But he did say it was very curious they haven't announced a 65 or 85 yet.

Had 2 yz's and 1 xc tbi.

No issues out of any of them.  Objectively taking the orange one.

Same. I've had 5 YZ's over the years, currently on a 300 SX. I've always loved the YZ's, but I also prefer the KTM. 🤷‍♂️

I hated the KTM chassis. I liked everything else about the bike.
I love the YZ chassis and like everything else about the bike.

Work on dirt bikes for a living, then come back and tell me the KTM is the "better" bike. I would take a yz250 every day and twice on sunday over ANY shit box KTM 2 stroke

Heard it’s the 250f chassis the 300 is in. Should look pretty cool

Would make sense for the 150 to also be in the 250F chassis right?

I had a premonition that it was a KX150, but it was essentially a KX112 with big wheels.  Everyone was kind of bummed about it.

I still own a ‘07 YZ250.  I’ve come close to moving to the dark side (4-stroke), but never did.  I will but a new KX 2-stroke though!

Want a green carb'd aluminum framed 250 2 stroke?  Buy a YZ and put green plastic on it.

Want a green carb'd steel framed 250 or 350 2 stroke?  Buy a Beta and put green plastic on it.

Want a green EFI steel framed 250 or 300 2 stroke?  Buy a KTM and put green plastic on it.
