With Deegan out for this weekend and his antics/fear of the Atlantic Ocean maybe hurting his chances for future spots on the team, who is the biggest name to never race the event?

Brownie? Got robbed twice. Maybe Josh Grant or Millsaps or someone like that? AC?

Donny Schmit got robbed by the AMA they told him he was in then changed to Kiedrowski because he finished better in SX. He even had a custom Helmet painted typical AMA shit.

Kent Howerton .  Micky Dymond got passed over for the 125 ride when he was national champ . Took Hannah instead .

Edit : I was way off on Howerton . He was on the team 3 times in the 70s

In the last 30 years, I can only think of two national champs who've never been - Mike Brown and AC. Brown would've gone in 2001 and 2002 but '01 was after 9/11 and we didn't send a team and I think 02 was the year we tried to build a track or something for it and it fell through, so neither were totally the fault of the selection committee.

I can't remember why AC didn't go in '19 when he was national champ. What he hurt?

I had to look at an MXA page with a list I didn't see Marty Smith listed anywhere . . .

Controversial, the Australian 1996 Team should have had Shane Watts, as he was the current 500cc champ.

Davi Millsaps is another name i would have expected to compete in at least one MXON for team USA? Team USA really had a stacked line up of options for a while

Bump for an answer on AC. As I type this I just realized why. Kawi wouldn't send him. Mfer

Micky was a 2X 125 champ (86 & 87) and got hosed both years. George Holland won the championship in 88 and he didn't get chosen that year either.
