Was listening to the Gypsy Tales podcast and Jace had this to say about Deegan. 🎤

🗣️ “I’ve said this from day 1, the A1 where Haiden Deegan is on a 450, is the biggest race of all time. 1 Million Percent. That is…the biggest Supercross race….of ALL TIME.” 🗣️

Timestamp 1:07:58.

It’s definitley something to look forward to. Everyone is going to be all eyes wanting to see him race Supercross against the best of the best. The dude will be in Fox gear, Yamaha 450 in what should be 450 Class Supercross of 2027.

This sport is at a premier moment in time. We will look back on this era of athletes like we do with RC, Stew, Reed, and Villo.

Weather you like him or not, I don’t think anyone can deny they are excited to see the kid race the 450 class, weather you want him to win or lose.

Imagine a lineup full of Jett, Hunter, Eli, Chase, RJ Hampshire, Haiden, Cole Davies, Jo Shimoda, and Chance Hymas. I think Hammaker could be one of those legendary guys as well. 2027-2030 is going to be crazy.

Add some names if I missed some 👍

My point of posting that is there's always going to be this sort of "hype" when the next hopeful comes up to challenge the established dominant riders.

The problem though with Jace's statement, is that it's more likely Deegan is going to have a couple trying years in the premier class (in Supercross) just like RC did. Deegan is not a freak like Stewart was. He will not be an immediate threat and just ride away from everyone. Even so, how did 2005 go? Anaheim was a mudder and Stewart broke himself in Phoenix. Hype dead.

Deegan will be fine outdoors for sure. Probably challenging for podiums early. Wins? I think so, with a start. I'm excited for Summer 2026.

If you’re including Hymas and Davies you need to exclude Tomac. Tomac won’t be racing (at least at the front) long enough to see those two. I hope I’m proven wrong on this, but I just don’t think it is realistic.

Yea I threw Tomac in here kind of as a Hail Mary. I’d love to see him racing is final year in 2027. Part of me feels like he’s never going to want to hang it up. He has that dog in him.

Not even close. No one expects Deegan to do anything his first year. In 05, the anticipation between Carmichael and Stewart was second to none. No one knew if RC was gonna get him, or if Stewart was just gonna come in and destroy.
the damn rain screwed it up, but it was still the most anticipated race ever in my opinion

I don’t expect to see Davies or Hymas on 450s until 2028 at the earliest.

The hype was completely off the charts going into '05... and that was without social media artificially pumping everything up.

Calm down Brian, teach your son to be a decent human being, and he will be respected by other riders and have more fans.

Hands down a1 2005, rc, reed, Windham, laracoo, dv, pastrana, Fonseca, tortellini, ferry, preston i know he was hurt, plus Stewart making his premier class debut, i still remember watching that at home like it was yesterday, I was only 14 at the time but damn was i excited, plus had some excitement to see a somewhat local, and what I mean by that seeing him race my local tracks pro am the year before Ryan sipes make his sx debut, so im sorry I just don't see the hype for 2026 a1 being more exciting, yes there will be hype but won't be the most exciting race of all time, not even close

RC, Stewart, Reed. 3 of the all time winners. Add is Windham, and Pastrana on the gate?

No, Deegan is not more hyped than that, no where close.

Exactly. Deegan will be lucky to grab a win at all in his rookie Supercross season. Supercross isn't his strength and he will have a number of guys who have proven themselves better than him to deal with.

Honestly for those hyped about Deegan. It makes more sense to be hyped for Round 1 of MX 2026 than it does for SX. if Deegan is a threat to win. It's outdoors.

just curious if he was one of those that predicted no other riders would win a supercross again as long as jet was putting on boots.

these was similar hype thar RC would never win again once Stewart got on a big bike.

The prelude to the 2005 SX season

RC has taken over from McGrath but missed 04 SX due to injury.
Enter Reed, nearly knocks RC off his perch as a rookie, then wins the next year and is defending champion.
Stew TFMOP on a 125, who’s already changing the sport, is entering the class.
Add in legends like Windham, Pastrana etc etc. Plus cameos by MC.
Also the last season dominated by factory two strokes.

Now tell me how a kid entering the premier class, who hasn’t exactly been unbeatable in 250 SX, will be the biggest race of all time?

There is more hype for Deegan at Pala next year than A1 in 2027…. And it’s not even close to Carmichael and Stewart.

Yup. If I remember correctly, it was a mudder. We had to watch it on Sunday morning

I'd agree, was really excited for that one.  The video's of James practicing and looking incredible...RC back after missing a season,  CR the defending champ.

The 99' season was also big,  Reynard and RC debut seasons, Lusk ready to win,  Prime MC.

it's not guaranteed a rider who dominates in 1 class will continue dominating after moving up in class. 450s are a completely different animal than 250 and you got a bunch of established riders with many years on 450 already who aren't going to just move over for a new guy.

The Deegs, as well as the rest of the industry, HIGHLLYY over inflate the Deegs social influence... for example... the Deegs have 1.4 mill subs on YT..... big number right!!?? welp, there are 50,000 other channel on YT with more subs.... fifty THOUSAND.. most of which you've never heard of before because they are nowhere close to "mainstream" pull.....

The boil down- The Deegs don't have anywhere close to mainstream numbers on socials.... there are thousands of obscure channels on YT with more subs than them... meaning- the deegs are just as far away from mainstream pull, as every other rider on the circuit... and just cause they show up, doesn't help mainstream wise at all....

Yep, check out Frog Leap Studios for example.  Closing in on 5 million.  And take a listen while you’re there, Leo is hella talented.
