If the points penalty takes him down a spot in the standings, and costs him prize money, then it’s a good start.

As I recall, HD was at 121 points and the rider behind him was at 118, so the penalty would move HD from 4th to 5th.

DoucheBoy should also be on probation for the next full racing season. Or forever, because last night was a shitshow..

The AMA needs to make a statement with the penalty they give Deegan and Star.

If they don’t, they’re going to continually see riders and teams generally not concentrating on racing as much as they are going to be concentrating on a racing strategy that is either trying to get the point across to another rider or team that they’re going to make life difficult for them or outright retaliating until the rider or team changes its behavior.

If that happens, the whole season is going to be focused on the fans seeing what kind of retaliation is going to happen in the race rather than who is just the fastest, and the AMA is going to be continually dealing with handing out penalties and trying to curb the kind of racing they don’t want.

Mitch made a statement that he wants Kitchen to ride aggressively. I’m sure Mitch was also making that point on camera to let Star and Deegan know that he’s had enough of Deegan’s shit.

I don’t understand how they don’t exercise their ability to throw the book as to deter future dumb ahit like this.

5 points and no fine? Might as well tell ‘em go ahead!

Completely empty and symbolic move by the AMA. It’s neither punishment nor determent for this to invade our sport as the new normal. 🤡

5 point penalty from the AMA? How pathetic.

Those were some spicy moves by DeWolf no doubt.  But at least he kept going forward and didn't start swerving around , brake checking etc. Deegan wasn't racing .

He should have been arrested at the finish line. AMA needs a wake up call...

This definition encompasses a range of actions, from deliberately striking an individual with a vehicle to engaging in reckless driving (that results in injury. There was more with De Wolf guess the Dutch connection and Everts was wide like Truck. 😉
Look how Walvoort rode into Langefelder after his crash, was quit unusal from my point of view.
That was when Langenfelder dropped from 8th to 13th.

Not sure but I think the 5 point penalty would have secured Deegs the championship still if Jo taken out. Penalty seems insufficient to discourage the behavior, but maybe it’s the rule book?

Yes. If it stays at 5 points it's a silent approval for this type of riding.

I hope someone will get someone from AMA interviewed where they of course need to justify the small penalty. As with those words they will say 'we at AMA find this type of riding a minor offense therefore we don't want to penalize harder'

I think we all know that the AMA will never impose a meaningful penalty on top riders and/or teams.

If they were serious, they’d make him sit out enough rounds in 26 that he can’t possibly win the title.

5 points GTFO. How about probation for next year in sx. If he is doing it again next year he will sit out a race. No consideration on what he could have done to Shimoda last night.

This is going to be unpopular but I'm not surprised Deegan wasn't black flagged after Malcolm Stewart wasn't black flagged at Daytona a few years ago when he kept trying to take out Anderson, and even cut the track to take him out.

Nice thought process. But that wouldn’t work in a motocross setting. He should have been fined or had a race suspension come 2026, something along those lines.

In the world of AMA, if you touch the gate at your disadvantage you get docked a lap down. If you want to blatantly take out and maybe injured a rider, we drop 5 points out of your score.

I know awesome right? But 5 points does seem excessive

Yes, and if I were the official it would be 5 points per takeout move not 5 points total.

AMA…the mall security guards of racing.

They need to change their slogan to “Stop-or we’ll tell you to stop again.”

Uh, no.

What a great precedent that would set…mini parents everywhere would have their local PD tied up on race days insisting that little Johnny be arrested for “vehicular assault” on their little Bobby.

So should barcia and vince be suspended for a few years? They’ve done much worse for a lot less money and a whole lot more than haiden. In no way i’m defending him, but i don’t think he should get a suspension, he will learn with this broken collarbone and he will learn when he meets barcia and everyone else next season.

With this theory, friese and barcia should be arrested and put in jail for multiple years. They took a whole lot more people out than haiden, and a lot worse too.

Agreed. Something DOES need to be done about Kitchen's shenanigans.

Kitchen admitting he intentionally took out Deegan is celebrated on this forum. Different rules for different riders according to vitards. 😂

Hahah... are you RC ? Wink The RC who was with such a cheerful voice saying Barcia and Andersson will start to show Jett how the big boys race... well, the big boys apparently are slow, I have not seen a race yet were those old boys had anything for Jett...

Anyway, what I think was so bad with Deegan that it was not a 'dirty move' in a corner but it went on for minutes (or at leats felt like minutes), slowing down and multiple attempts to simply take out... I guess no one can say he was racing hard for the win...he was riding his bike to take out Jo, nothing else. If it would have been one corner and one attempt you could always say it was hard racing and it happened within a second, one bad decision.. this was not 'one bad decision' it went on for a long time, Deegan on a mission to take down..not to race.

Right on the money! All in all it was more bumpercar than anything else! Lost all my respect for de Wolf as well. I hope Simon returns the favor next year resulting in some broken bones for KdW. Fucking shitshow.

I think it is celebrated that finally someone returned the favor to deegan. He should be cool with it. Didn't Ricky say they need to push back?! What comes around goes around.

I've said in here a few times AMA is a clown show. Forever inconsistent. Every penalty they give out is situational. They just make it up as they go along.

And remember a few years ago there was frustration from penalised riders/teams because AMA would then use the footage for promotion? They'll probably do the same here. They're ridiculous
