Jett gets docked a lap for hitting the gate but the Hobbit gets a 5 point penalty for black flag riding, make it make sense

No way in hell, that is enough of a penalty. It won't mean much to him.  AMA needs to rethink and they should also give themselves a penalty for not black flagging him

This is the type of riding they want it seems. Levi didn’t just try, he did take deegan out, and didn’t get a black flag. So I’m not surprised deegan didn’t one.

I hope, but not expecting, someone from moto media gets an interview with Pelletier (sp?), and gets an explanation for this. Along with follow up questions of what it would take to get a black flag, what would be the penalty if he injured Jo and how much longer they would’ve let the cat and mouse game go on if he didn’t take himself out.

The fact that you don’t black flag a loose cannon like that shows how small time our sport is.  Hopefully Honda raised all kinds of hell.   Deegan just can’t help himself.

Actually yes. This is professional athletics and motorsports not the local crash derby you redneck. Attempts to sabotage or injure competitors deliberately should dq you.

What you saw right there is what will separate  Deegan from being as dominant and successful as Jett. Deegan has a little voice in his head saying “do it for the gram.”

He’s driven to serve his ego and public persona more than being driven to be a true champion.

You made a post in the Kitchen thread before it got clipped, which went along the lines of criticism directed towards Deegan is to make him more "cookie cutter". Deegan moves over on Hammaker and collides with him before a wide open jump, which easily could've sent them both cartwheeling into oblivion, then brake checks Shimoda on a straight away; his racecraft, or lacktherof, was downright dangerous and could've got people seriously hurt. Deegan got hurt as a result of his own poor choices, yet that easily could've been Shimoda instead.

You're obviously not a racer (or at least one who has to care for your own equipment) or someone who is interested in the racing aspect of our sport. I may not race at the top level but I can say with confidence there's not a single motocross coach or trainer I've worked with in my life who would've put up with an ounce of the antics of what Deegan displayed last night.

He deserves more than a 5 point penalty. That type of trailer trash riding is not what one expects from a championship rider. Goes to show, money does not buy you class.

It's not about the aggressive riding. It is the repeated checking-up and performing take-out moves when after. Extremely poor sportsmanship . It should have been black flagged. Since it wasn't, I would say a complete forfeiture of points for the day. You have to deter this from ever happening again
