How should Jo approach this race?

It is alot of talk about how Deegan is going to play his card this weekend, is star going to put riders next to Jo on the start?, is Deegan gonna take him down etc. Jo just find himself in this situation now due to the circumstances that happend last weekend.

How does he approach this with the knowledge that he has a big target on his back ?

Just go out and ride your best ? Try to avoid all the drama ? Or take Deegan out yourself ?

Apologise if the language isnt correct all the way through this message

I would love to see Jo just rip a holeshot and sail off to the win

Just try to win..... 2 moto format complicates it a little. Can't do anything first moto or you'll get it back second moto. Only needs second.... even if Deegan goes 1-1, who else has shown that they can put two motos together to beat Jo for second? Deegan riding with the warning so don't think he'll try anything dumb.

It's a two-moto format, so doing this once wouldn't be enough.

Of course there are a lot of Yamaha 250 riders to play interference, but if Jo rises to the occasion and finishes first or second, he wins the title of 250 SMX King.

If Deegan is coming in hot, just let him by, reduce risk. If next penalty is 5 points, you can gain much more by putting Jo on the ground.

That being said, if Deegan is Infront of Jo, and playing games, I'd say take him out, and sprint away 😁

It'll be interesting. Have we ever seen Jo in a position that could put this much pressure on him? He seems to come together when he has nothing to lose.

The best option is to rip a holeshot and run and hide both motos. Deegan rolls up on you just let him go because I dont think he cares about a warning. Personally I hope Jo puts it together, he seems like a good kid and deserves it.

Joe is calm as a cucumber everytime I’ve seen him in an interview or video.  this is a lot of pressure and I’m not sure how he’ll handle it but his demeanor seems even keel to me most of the time and hopefully it’ll translate

He should stay away from the swarm of Star bikes that will no doubt be converging on him all day.

I think a lot of people are way over estimating how much Deegan's teammates actually like him. Do you ever see him hanging out with any of them or any of them having anything nice to say about him?

He flew Davies in his jet when he was hurt, but he also sent him over the berm in SX so on/off the bike who knows?

Jo should ride the best, fastest race he can. Avoid the WWE/Deegan drama and race forward, unless HD wants to play bumper car BS, then let him by and win the big check with a 2nd.

I’ll never respect a takeout, championship or not. And I avoid buying anything from a takeout riders sponsors, not that they’ll ever notice, but I don’t want a penny of mine supporting dirty riding.

Just one opinion

I’m good with either one winning, but think Jo is due one. I hate a takeout may have decided it, but that’s racing.

Holeshot and run away with it would be a strategy for any race! If only if it was that easy. Jo doesn’t need to win so if Deegan is ahead of him and Jo is in 2nd, he probably would do well to stay away from him. Beyond that, I think he’s got to just run his race the way he normally does without overthinking it because that’s when things start to go wrong.

He hangs out with jcoops wife here and there if that counts. He flew with Webb to Vegas, the way Davies and him interact it’s pretty clear they are cool. The others not so sure

On topic, Jo’s best strategy is to maintain his good starts, that’s most of the battle. I don’t think anyone goes for a clean out.

I think a lot of people forget that Shimoda can ride a bit dirty as well..

Hopefully he wins!

Seth can also slide into the championship if they both get cute so it's not like all he needs to do is take deegs out. If he puts himself on the ground as well Ala kitchen it would be a big loss

My uncles buddy met a guy at the parts counter than can predict the future. He said that Jo gets pinched off on the start final moto comes through the pack then passes deegan for the lead with 2 turns to go and deegan goes over the berm like Cole. The crowd goes nuts and Jo is crowned champ. The shimoda realist brings Jo up to the podium on his shoulders. Lars then passes out championship shirts for the photo op that says welcome to the real danger zone baby. With a picture of jo punting deegan at the final round of the opening season of super duper.

Are you talking about the same guy that raced the SX season with a broken hand/fingers? That Jo?

Let's be clear.  Brian was behind providing the private jet. He runs the PR machine, not Haiden.

Jo needs to do what he always does on race day. Over thinking the situation could be trouble.

Fair point, it's not just a 2 horse race. Even more exciting!

He better get a holeshot and ride it like he stole it. If Deegz is close to him, Jos hitting the dirt imo.
