This might be a bit of an exaggeration by saying ridden once. However, have you ever ridden a bike either once or a few times, then sold it? Didn’t gell with the bike? Buyer’s remorse? Etc…

2018 TC250

2 revalves and multiple other attempts at making it work for me, sold it for a profit 25 hours later thanks to Covid I owned it for about 8 months

Not to the extreme of feeling like I need to sell it right away but I’m kinda there right now with my 2025 yz250 and I think I’d maybe be there if it was my only bike. Thankfully I have a 24 yz450, 22 tc125 and 25 crf250.

After dealing with a lemon tc300 and other issues with my 23/24 Ktm 300’s I decided to go BLUCRU and get a yz250. While I still think it’s a blast to ride, trying to link together a 20 min moto on the yz 250 it’s just not it compared to a Ktm two stroke. It’s two things for me, the vibration is terrible and then just the overall feel of it just feels like a 2006. Feels like I’m sitting in a hammock compared to all my other “modern” bikes. If they only they could balance that crank and toss it in the current chassis….

2001 tm85 mx big wheel gone within 4 months. 2nd fastest would have been bought brand new 2003 yz250f gone within 8 months. It was too tall a bit top heavy.

What i hated the most was the flame outs and the very hard literally refuse to restart. Best thing I did was sell it and get that 04 kx125.

2023 Husky 350, just couldn’t get comfortable, I’d always leave the track not very excited to ride again. Threw the kitchen sink at it, still wasn’t comfortable. Sold it, got a Yamaha and started smiling after my motos again 😁

2001 CR250

Road it on a track for a day and decided it wasn't for me.  Already ordered decal works, radiator braces, and some other stuff.  All in all I lost $1000 buying a brand new bike and selling it.  It was hard to compete with my 99 YZ125.

Went through the same thing with my 350, except it took me 2 years to decide to move on to a different bike

In 1974, after riding a friend's dirt bike, I was on a mission to get one.  I saved paper route money, then bought a 1970 Yamaha 90 HT-1 Enduro.  It's what I could afford at the time.  It looked kind of like a dirt bike, and it had knobby tires, but it was not a dirt bike, and it was too big for me.  I only rode it a few times.  I continued to save paper route money, then sold it and got an Xr75.  That was a better "first" bike.  It was a good bike all around.

A year and half later, I sold it to my brother and got a Yz80C.  I loved that bike.

Yep a 2024 YZ250F with a full GYTR engine. Rode it twice. Thought a Kawi 250 was way better, shocker, I know 😂

2019 Honda CRF450. Raced it once, tested the next weekend. Rode a 2020 YZ450F that same day. Following Monday went and bought a 21 YZ450F and sold the Honda

Those 2023-2024 Austrian bikes were stiff. Did you put enough time on it to break it in?

2019 crf450. Too fast and scary. Twp massive whiskey throttles and it was time for a kx450

1981 Suzuki RM465. Got the first one at the local dealer. Broke it in a couple of days then went to race at Indian Dunes for a Sunday race. Going through the sand on the Shadow Glenn track I hit what I thought was a neutral or my chain had come off and came to a grinding halt. Pushed back to the pits and couldn’t find anything so we drained the oil and it was full of metal. While we were doing that a couple of guys from Suzuki came over and I explained what happened and since I had gone to the races with my dealer they asked him to send them all the parts and they would make sure I got all new parts and they wanted to see what happened to the old stuff. Tore it down and gave all the parts to my dealer and he sent them off, Well Suzuki ghosted me and the dealer so I had to buy quite a few parts and put it back together myself. Got it assembled and rode it down the street to make sure it worked and it went in the garage and I never rode it again. Went and bought a 81 Maico 490 the next week and sold the RM. Suzuki was dead to me after that.

GasGas ec 250 2004. Nothing wrong with motor. Not the best suspension but decent  for its time period.

Something really weird going on with linkage ratio/frame geometry/anti squat.

Great story! My uncle had that 81 Maico 490 and he loved it. Sounds like you did well in the end.

I was really close to buying a slighly used CRF450 2021. But fortunately i attended a 2022 demo day during that time and 30 minutes on the 2022 was enough, i know that i would've sold the 2021 very quickly if i would've bought it.

2008 CRF250R.  Grew up on 2T and was just getting back to riding. Bike was used, one year old. Hated it. Slow, unbelievably heavy feeling, massive engine breaking. My first lap on it I was going down the far hill at Budds and rolled off the throttle before the jump at the bottom. Nearly went over the bars. 4Ts are good now, but who in the world thought they were a better mousetrap back then?!

I also got rid of my 1983 CR125 earlier than planned. Kept seizing.

1986 Kawasaki KX250, wicked fast but handled like a nightmare. Rode and raced it only a few times and sold it to a local pro that was able to make it work for him. I ran out of talent on that bike.

Turns out that wasn't a great year for that bike after all, but somehow wish I could find a good one to restore now...
