Who 801 was.
We know who 94 is.
We know who 96 is.
We know who 38 is.
We know who 27 is.
The whole career single digit/low number “push” form years ago needs to go away.
Our promoters and big event creators have spent waaaaaaay too much time looking at and comparing our moto world to NASCAR. That time has passed. NASCAR has jumped the shark. Ours is a different sport, a different culture…we’re just different.
We need to embrace that.
They got rid of career triple digits because they wanted people to run numbers they earned, which was a stupid solution on their end. Force people to run what they earned but once they are top 10 in points and they can pick any number anyways, let them pick a three-digit. Sometimes I swear it's like the AMA just doesn't even think for more than five seconds about their decisions.
No riders should have to earn there number . New numbers every yr makes it more exciting. It your #51 you had to pit in the boonies . Makes riders race harder . The number means something. When you earn it
It sounds like if G is eligible for a permanent number, he’s going to pick 39 in honor of Aiden Zingg since they were close.

I like the old system - if you earned 10th in points, you were #10. Fourth? Your number is 4. Your number reflects how fast you were the year before and it changes every season.

I think you meant "your number reflects how many races you survived the year before". That system sucks, let the riders run whatever number they want except 1.

Deegan or Jett. A rider can only select a single digit number if they win the 250 MX title or the 450 SX or MX title.
