whatever bike he rides, he still needs to work on his fitness and reach fitness level of the Top 10 US riders. 

But I thought the Kwai was the best bike ever and the KTM was horrible on SX

Yaa Trasher was a Troy Lee Am kid and Barcia had a year left on his Yamaha contract when Yamaha handed the 450 program over to Star and they swapped guys. 

So he’s earning the same or less than a chronically injured AC?

I really don't think it has to do with the kawi being a good or bad bike, some bikes just do not suit certain riders riding styles. A riders instinctual reflexes get so accustomed to a specific bike if they spend years and years on the same platform.  Some riders can make the change to a different bike easier than others.

He got the contract and then started racing in the US. He is a multi-time champ. He also is not the first to have issues with the green bike and/or the team. It’s a huge change to come over here, ride SX and get along with a new bike. I admit he hasn’t set the world on fire in 25 but there have been flashes of the expected speed. Based on his riding this year, I could see a less lucrative contract for next year. 

Dude just give a round about number if you know it. This I know but you don’t game isn’t cool. 

Prado could keep his Fox deal and ride a ktm. I doubt he is getting any bonuses at Kawi. I guess he wants that steel frame and aer fork back. You almost can’t get a bigger change than ktm/aer to kawi.

If he walks for a bonus only deal that’s putting your money where your mouth is. This makes Kawi look even worse that they couldn’t get the bike to work. We aren’t talking about it working for 5-10th place. We are talking being able to win races. People need to realize you don’t win with a poor setup, look what just happened to Hunter moto 1.  Now if he goes to KTM and continues to be 5-10, Kawi has the last laugh.

But hey, did he just caught and beat Tomac?!

If Prado does go back to KTM and stays in the states, he better beat Chase outdoors next year. 

No. Tomac went from 2:04- 2:06 lap times to  2:11 - 2:21 lap times. So he didn’t catch anyone. Tomac just stopped trying to hold on. I hope they figure that bike out by the time MXoN rolls around.

So did you use the same logic when Prado went backwards?

Yes. I’m sorry you don’t see a difference between catching someone and going backwards. I never once said anything about someone running down Prado, when he was clearly dropping anchor.

While G has had some good rides, he has not done enough for a factory 450 spot. IMO

Impossible. According to Vital members, bike setup shouldn't matter that much. It should not make you drop lap times. Elite riders don't drop anchor.

Hmmm what do u know all the ppl laughing about the prado to ktm eli to kawi scenario may be eating crow?? It honestly would be the best result for everybody. Elli would be way more comfortable on the aluminum frame kawi… and going back to his old team, and prado would be much more comfortable going back to the ktm platform. Sounds like it would be a win-win for everybody, can they make it work? 

He couldn’t dig enough to hold on to 4th with a half lap to go?  That’s character, not bike.  He may think going to KTM will make everything better, but his GP bike had little in common with a production bike while the KTM he’d be on here does.  His best bet would be to stick it out with Kawi and really try to make it work, at least for another season.  Crazy situation.  

Honestly bonus only probably makes sense if he wanted to leave that bad. He seems like a very intelligent guy. I am sure he is aware that if he went to KTM and didn’t get on the box consistently he is done in America no matter what, he would have one year to prove himself. It would take some big balls to make that move no matter what the pay structure is imo. 

Stop with the Prado excuses!! It's not the bike. He doesn't have the pace or the fitness to run with the top guys. Jett and Sexton caught and went by him easily in the second moto. And he got smoked by Hampshire and passed on the last lap by Cooper. 

It's easy to see, he just doesn't have the sprint speed, desire, or endurance the top guys have. He's lucky to finish where he did considering the guys that are out injured. He didn't beat anyone today that would say otherwise. Hell, I think JA could have beat him today. Down vote me all you want, the guy has no fight in him. 

I was fired up when Kawasaki signed him. Now I hope Kawi lets him go back to KTM. Give someone else the factory ride that actually has heart.

Can we just agree in MX Prado is a 7-10 guy here in the states? and if there is a few top guys out he's 5-8 🤙 Not hating just spitting facts. 

His body language just looks like someone thats defeated. I’m surprised he finished up as far as he did. If I was at kawi Id honestly be pissed by the obvious lack of effort. 

If he isn’t comfortable on the bike his endurance is going to look bad.
