No. Too much risk of crashing the 450 in SX. He needs to get his feet under him outdoors on the 450 first.
Yes. 4 years in 250SX is too long. Race the guys you want to beat.
IMO he should only move up during SX if it gets towards the end and he isn't in contention for the 250 title. With him and Davies likely running separate coasts I don't see that happening.
Absolutely. Approach as a learning lesson and aim for letting it all hangout in the summer.

What's got more value to the sponsors? Deegan in the premier class for 9 extra rounds in SX (barring he stays healthy) or him missing those 9 rounds for sure and maybe winning another regional title?
I have a feeling hes bored on a 250. Just a feeling I have from stuff Ive seen in interviews. I like the 250sx, then 450mx model. But if hes bored and stale on a 250 he should move up. He has no competition. Yeah, yeah, Jo won a couple races. We all know he's not on Haiden's level. He should move up after this mx season
Well first off you have to look at it from all angles to see if it planes out.
Would you consider this a “must situation”?
Good Christ. Riders used to just stop off and move on from 125/250 class. Hell there used to be no 125/250 class. He should have raced 450 this year, he needs some riders to chase to progress.
I think doing a few rounds on the opposite coast like most guys have done would be beneficial. Just don’t go out there and grenade yourself.
I'll bet he dominates timedqualifyingpractice!
should race MXON on a 450 like Jett did. Get his feet wet and see where he stacks up against everyone.
You would want him out of MX2, wouldn’t you
So, he’s 19.5yo (01/10/06) and he’ll be 20 by the time he gets in 450s. McGrath had turned 21 (11/71) right before SX in 93. RC had just turned 20 (11/79) right before SX 2000.
Carmichael had a tougher first year than McGrath. I would lean toward him riding 250SX 450MX for ‘26. I think it would be smart to err on the side of caution and leave him in SX one more season, unless he’s just adamant about moving up.
But every rider is different
I'd say race 250's for another full season. RC is always saying he wished he hadn't moved up as fast as he did.
yeah... i just said that?
Stay as long as he can and keep cashing those checks.
i think doing one coast on the 250, and some if not all of the 450 races on the other coast would be very beneficial,
Pit Row
He’s just stunting his development by staying down.
With how much more time these guys can get out of a career, I don’t see why staying in 250sx another year would hurt him.
Just my opinion, I think if he goes 450sx in 26, he’ll exponentially increase his chances of having a huge get off and jeopardizing 26 450mx. Not saying it would for sure happen, but he had some seriously sketchy moments this season in SX.
He should do whatever he needs to do to make all mx rounds in 26, on a 450. I think that’s staying in 250sx for another year.
He said he wished he didnt move up as fast as he did for 250 sx. No reason Deegz needs to be on a 250 for mx next summer. To beat up on the same guys?
The GOAT would tell him to ride 250SX in 2026.
I think he should stay on the 250 until outdoors ..... OR race the west on a 250 and then east on a 450. If that's possible. I don't know how it would work if he's winning the 250 class and jumps up and happens to do really well in the 450 class too. Is there a rule that would prevent him from going up and down like that in the same season? I haven't read the current rule book , I know there are some restrictions about 250 guys riding 450s.
But if that's possible it would also be a great way to bring some fresh energy into the 450 class later in the season if things are not exciting . Like or hate him, I think that everybody would want to watch his first 450 SX race. And it lets him dip into the class with less pressure since there would be no way to win the 450 title by that point. And it would help him get ready for the 27 season, running a full year with it having a little less pressure during a part of it. Then he goes into 2027 better prepared to try and challenge for titles.
I love DB but disagree with him on this one. RC has been vocal about moving up too soon. Deegan needs another year on the 250 in sx. The only people rushing him up are the fans.
What’s interesting about Haiden is that as well as he’s done and as unbeatable as he is hypothetically, he gets beat. He’s been beat multiple times this year and in some instances wasn’t even in the fight. I’m not saying he’s not spectacular, but people talk about him not having competition and he has been beat at multiple rounds outdoors and is a self proclaimed outdoor specialist. He’s done great, but certainly isn’t so untouchable that he’s “bored”?
Guys RC moved up after 2 seasons. This will be Deegs 4th. Move em up.
He’ll race them when it’s time…
(Someone had to say it…😂)
Would be crazy to move up IMO. He’s still not fully developed on the 250 for Supercross. Wouldn’t expect him to be top 5 most rounds. I think he would gain more by staying on the 250 and hopefully dominating.
He’s ready outdoors though. Maybe not an immediate winner. But the kid is so far ahead of everyone else in MX on a 250 that he really would be developing better on the 450.
Just like any educated person, I think he should race 26 sx on a 250, and then move up to the 450 outdoors.
It’d be nice to fill out the trophy case with a 250SX East crown and win everything there is to win in the 250 class. Plus, he’s less refined in SX, so one more 250SX season to really get it dialed couldn’t hurt. With guys riding in to their 30’s these days there’s no reason to hurry.
