Just listened to his interview on pulpmx. Really cool story
He's on a stock yz450f with a pipe, stock suspension stock motor stock ecu and scoring top 10s.
He's on the bubble for smx and mentioned he wants to stay in the US foe the future. Hopefully he can get a deal lined up. It's really cool seeing gp guys move over
I agree with Lewis Phillips's thoughts in one of his pods this week.. Guillod should be an easy sign for a 250 supercross team
Dudes a badass for coming to the US and doing what he's doing. Alot of Euros seem so cool and chill when the come here and just rip without a lot of attitude. Hope he can stick around a little longer.
Clubmx might be a good fit. Yamaha. 250SX, maybe stay 450MX, the Coty Schock program.
He was one of the only guys to beat Herlings multiple moto's back in his MX2 days

Why not keep him on a 250 for outdoors as well? I mean its been a while that he's been on a 250 but he was a gp winner in mx2

One thing I will say, the FIM need to find a way to stop losing talent. If I was a professional rider I sure as shit wouldn't stick around to race 19 other riders on a shit track with no crowd for less money than American riders.
Guillod first caught my attention in 2013 when he stepped up from EMX250 to race the MXGP class at the MXdN and kept Dungey honest for the opening laps of the Saturday qualifying race. I thought he had the potential to go on to become a real contender in GP's, but after a bright start his career sort of plateaued and it never reeeeally happened for him, for whatever reason.
He's 34. I think the WFO 250 style might not suit him as well, as you get older, you race smarter, so the 450 class might be his best option.

You could also be thinking of another Valentin though; Valentin Tiellet. He was also known for his insane scrubs.

Guillod has been super impressive. Imo going back to a 250 would be waste of talent at this stage of his career. Love to see what he could do outdoors with some decent support. How to negotiate SX is a problem.
I just read in Matthes’ RacerX column that Guillod’s bike hasn’t even had a suspension oil change since the first round! I hope he at least has a practice bike? Or that oil’s got to be toasted.
He's 32, 33 in December. 250SX and 450MX would be a good option if he can get one.

Prado is a joke at the moment, Valentin cant train during the week very much due to a health issues.
Matthes was trying to get his suspension serviced and get Prestons map settings for his stock ECU.

He also had some great battles in France with him. I don't know whether he won the moto. But that was cool

Too funny. Whenever Guillod is mentioned or brought up thats the first thing that comes to mind. Crazy, footpeg dragging scrubs
Guillod was on fire that year & I was convinced he beat Herlings more (hence why I checked). He’s a prime example of being forced out of the class just as his career is picking up.
On Pulp he said he doesn’t practice during the week, feels it makes him too tired for the motos. Just rolls in for the weekend on a stock bike and puts it in the Top 10.
If you haven’t had a chance, his Pulp interview from Monday is a good one.
John Dowd, late 90’s on a Factory Yamaha - dropping down to the 125 class for a year indoors and out in 97 I believe.

On pulp he said his friend in France re-worked the suspension. Still impressive riding nonetheless.
Demaria was his coach, and in one interview, he made it clear that Guilod was not much of a hard worker at the time.
Heck yeah it is. Shows you how good these production motorcycles are. Meanwhile we have Factory riders complaining about their bikes. We wont name names
Guillod and Demaria used to work together for a very long time, in two different periods of the swiss rider's career. And Guillod did the job. The few years his results were down, he didn't train with Demaria.
Wilvo sacked him because he was lazy.
Was this time when he didnt want to ride Lommel or other sand tracks everyday? He did quit racing for a while and got back with different attitude and been great to see him do good.

Yes but it hasnt been serviced for the whole nationals so far.
