Sounds like Herlings went down and has a collarbone broken.  Needs surgery.

When was the last time he made it a calendar year without an injury?

Ever?

Dude may go down as one of the biggest "what could have beens" in the sports history.

I'd agree he's hurt a lot but he's probably the fastest gp rider ever in terms or pure speed.... has some titles and a heck ton of wins.

Jake Kessler and Cody Shock rode a few days after breaking the collarbone. He should be back in no time.

Hope all is well for him and he has a speedy recovery.

So... He should of raced Southwick instead of staying back in Europe is what you're saying 😁

I think last year was the only year where he made every single round without an injury, he came into the season recovering from one though and tore his ACL in the end of 2024. Other than that there hasn't been a year, even in his dominant years he broke something. Shoulders being by far his most injuries.

It actually blows my mind and that he tips over and has a broken collar bone or discolated shoulder everytime while Seewer flies 60 yards through the air and ends up scratch free.

An injury overview:
2010: dislocated shoulder
2012: traffic accident in Russia with head injury
2013: scapula fracture
2014: tibia fracture, then damaged shoulder and then femur fracture
2015: dislocated little finger, then broken collarbone and later a dislocated hip
2016: broken collarbone 2017
2017: right hand fracture/broken pinky
2018: right collarbone fracture
2019: broken ankle and foot
2020: C1, C6 and T3 fractures
2021: shoulder blade fracture
2022: complex heel fracture
2023: C5 vertebral fracture and collarbone fracture
2024: ACL during the off-season

That he still comes back season after season finding his way back to winning speed shows what kind of a tough MFer he is.

Last year he has broken some ribs and raced with it, so didn’t miss a gp because of it. It really is a shame he is so prone to injuries.

Yeah true, he got hit by Febvre in one of the qualifying races didn't he? The list is definitely endless haha

Can't overlook how mentally tough the dude is to keep coming back to winning form year after year with all these injuries. Respect.

I am gutted , he was making the MXGP field sit up and take notice, and was scheduled to be at Preston Docks for the British Championship for round 4 at Preston Docks.

Please let him be healed up and back to current form by MXoN.  If he misses another year, I am going postal.

Herlings raced with a broken hand, a broken femur and a freshly plated collar in Indonesia aswell. Doesn't mean he has to rush anything now specially since he wasn't in the points race anyways this year.

Depending on the type of break and the repair he gets, should be back on the bike in a few days, maybe a week.

Surely, SURELY that means he can come and do some AMA rounds when he gets it fixed. If he misses any GP's, he might struggle to even get top 3 in the championship.

He really should retire. Still has a ton of speed but clearly rides over his head getting hurt every season for the last decade and a half.

Effin A. Poor guy can’t catch a break. The sport is better when he’s healthy.

With that list of injuries old age may be a bit uncomfortable at times...

Not all breaks are comparable.

Spot on with that.

People hear Collar Bone break, and, think it's nothing. But, it depends on the break / breaks. There's all sorts of results with breaking that bone.

One fearful break(s) I saw, years ago, was when a bloke put up a X Ray of a break that he'd been told was "nothing to worry about" - prior to the X Ray. He was sent home without an X Ray being done.

He was in 'just a bit of pain', so, decided to get another opinion.

The X ray showed part of his collar bone, was down into his chest / right by his lung. The operation to find it, and 'refit' it, was a doozy. The bloke was a ruin for quite some time after that.

I've a mate with a 'Z' to one of his collar bones ( and, the other side has quite a lump to it, too ) - when he's putting his body armour / jersey on, it's a bit nauseating to see it 🤢🤮

I've not (touch wood) broken a collar bone - just done both AC joints - and don't I wish I'd broken the CBs instead of that. They, haven't healed remotely well.

When I broke my collarbone I was in SO much pain. It took a couple months before I could train in the gym.

What sort of shit kicker is canning Herlings, the man is a GOD in our sport.   Yes, his internal structure may not be as solid as other racers, but hell, what a great athlete and showman he's been.   European racing is not the same without him on the gate.  A man whom is in the unique position that can speak his mind, where others are locked into corporate puppetry, Jeffrey will say what's on his mind, and totally get away with it.   We're missing this in our sport.
Get well soon Mr Herlings, can't want to see the great man back.
