Langston the euro champ and USA champ won every title here except 450 supercross vs Steve the ex mechanic journalist. Hmmm that’s a tough choice but I’m gonna side with GL. This will explain journalism in our sport. This isn’t my opinion, I’ve never had a problem with Mathes and I do listen to two of his pods every week(not Pulp).
I was trying to get a friend who owns a very successful investment firm, who doesn’t know much about supercross to sponsor a rider. He went to a couple races on his own and did some homework to get a true fans perspective.
He had a lot of negative things to say, but he was absolutely blown away that Mathes is the journalistic face of the sport.
He never sponsored the rider, but he does watch supercross now.
Thank you very much for the explanation and that saddens me. I truly hope he’s doing better and getting some help. Most people don’t understand what it’s like in these situations. The decisions you make at the moment aren’t a true reflection of your character. Grant is human like all of us and is deserving of some compassion.

Grant Langston was a phenomenal motocross racer and a great addition to a broadcast team, and as a broadcaster I really enjoyed his insight. The day he declared himself a medical professional he lost me, you're allowed your personal beliefs and opinions but the way he has carried on that basically if you don't agree with him you're an idiot has really only reflected on him poorly. It's been a very steep downward spiral since then.
I think Matthes calls it like he sees it also. I don’t agree with his politics but I listen to his takes on things. Society as a whole stopped listening to anyone that doesn’t believe exactly what they believe.
Same, I should not know who ping, GL, cooksie, brian deegan vote for. I couldnt give less of a shit. Were inundated with the politics crap 24/7 365 already and we go to moto to get away from that bs for a bit. So tired of these guys trying to get politics into moto. I dont follow ping to learn about what the newest conspiracy theory is, I followed him to hear about moto. Shits lame af.
You missed the $5k challenge Matthes put up to GL to prove he sued Yamaha.
Every time I see a new video of him he seems drunk. If you want to really figure out where his disdain for Steve started, I personally think it was after his last appearance on Pulp. If I'm remembering correctly, he got so wasted on the show he started to make a fool of himself on the air and afterwards he threw up all over himself and the driver's car when they were taking him to his hotel. I don't think he has been on the show since and a lot of sly remarks from GL started slowly coming out over time. It almost felt like GL thought it was Steve's fault for making him look like such a mess that night.

Steve has a big mouth, he's the type to get punched and call the police when hes equally at fault.
I think some people are taking this way too serious... maybe Jerry just thought it was funny and liked it? maybe hes not so emotionally attached to this situation like a lot of other people ? doesn't necessarily mean he agrees with it or is picking a side.

I don't care for anyone's political beliefs but I do remember the days when Steve use to be the edgy one. He didn't care if he upset riders as long as the info was true and relevant? He used to laugh how several riders didn't like him. Now he and the pod are doing well with major sponsors he's worried about upsetting riders?? I get it but just admit it he's changed.
To be honest I miss the much more loose, rowdier, sometimes drunk pulp podcast. It all charged the moment he got that Yamaha sponsorship.

Deegan (Brian) has completely called out Steve for how he runs things. Steve Looks out for the little guy more than anyone in that position. Not just the racers'. but giving podcast opportunity to many.
Deegan is all about himself and money.
Gypsy lowered himself to cooksey level. I know personally that Gypsy has hated Steve since the year Kenny went to the states. maybe earlier. Just waits for openings to make shots. Hoppers question was not a fair question to ask AP. especially cause AP is so cool and will of course get himself in trouble.
Lets wait until Little deegs is trying to hide getting a ride elsewhere and media spots him the same way. Big Deegs will melt down.
Side note. when can we respect Deegs without his dad? Like time to pass the torch
