Knew it was coming 10 minutes ago when they started talking about the rules for stopping the race after 20 minutes.  Had to wait for Jett to make that last pass...

Not sure what lightning tracker you are using, but it was definitely within the 8 mile limit. 

I'm honestly surprised it's only 8 miles, it's 30 miles to shut down crane/aerial lift work.

Yeah, it’s blue sky and sunny here right now.  That’s why they froze the feed.

The circle that you can make out is a 10 mile radius from the red pin drop.  The track is just south and west of the ‘D’ in Dunkard. 

It was very close.

Yeah to bitch about a red flag is a shit take. That lightning was CLOSE. Too bad there was lightning because that would have been an epic mudder. There were trucks sliding down the hill in the parking lot into other trucks. 

Clearly you haven’t been to many races at HP.  It’s a normal occurrence for vehicles to be sliding around trying to exit.  I had to be pulled out with a CAT many years ago….. and they didn’t red flag the race.   🤦🏼‍♂️

Was racing moto quite a few years back and a storm came up as they were lining up the 250s. I  don’t think they canceled back then. Anyways there were about 25 -30 guys lined up ready to go and lightning hit a guy in the helmet. He got knocked about 10 feet away from his bike. 8 guys lined up beside him also got zapped. None of them rode again that day and the guy that took the direct hit didn't ride for a month but luckily no severe injuries. 

I liked back in the day when some one had to actually see lightening.

So you want someone to potentially get hit by lightning then red flag

Had to end the race early to save Tomac from being passed. Racing is rigged. Moto gone soft.


Sounds silly doesn’t it….

the clowns crying about the lighting red flag are the same clowns that would cry even worse about safety if someone got hit by lightning. 

Ok … at first i was like WTF because the rain had let up. But, the lightning explanation is nothing to discount, I was stationed at Ft Benning when 6 ranger candidates were struck by lightning… it’s nothing to take for granted for sure, Good call!
