Check it out........I knew it was pathetic , but this is ridiculous! Out of a possible 64 God damn years of the history this race.....we have had it here TWICE! That's right........2 fucking times!

look at how many times places like Belgium , France ,and Italy and so forth have had the privilege of hosting it!

The USA only lost a couple of those races over the past 30 friggin' years! There are a couple years where did not compete ( due to 9-11 I believe ).

Why? Is it because all the smaller countries are so close together it's better for the majority of the teams? So the USA gets screwed about 98% of the time and we have to haul everything over there to race it.....even though we have been extremely dominant?

Granted......This has nothing to do with the GP riders themselves....as I dig all them guys. My bitch is with the people who pick the damn country it's supposed to be held in!

Seems kind of unfair if you ask me.

OH........and yeah.....don't forget that our USA rider have to deal with jet lag and shitty Euro food and still race the damn thing.

Lets see how all the Euro guys handle the jet lag and "Good" food and beer!

You mean the time before the last time. Red Bud 07 was the last time. When there is no market for a des Nations you get no race. There is a market here now, mainly due to the internet and growth of MX worldwide, that brings the event closer to us. There's a reason we had one in 07, 10 and soon at Glen Helen (not a fair track to the Europeans but hey we're going to Lommel in '12). That's also the same reason they won't host one in Mexico or Cuba or Alaska or Russia... no market. 10 years ago the crowd at a US MXdN would have been maybe half of what they could have got in Europe. You go where the money is.

Instead of crying about how many times its been held in the US, why don't you look at the last 10 years?

USA have had the opportunity to hold 3 in the last 10 years and will hold it again in a few years time at Glen Helen.

Seems pretty fair to me.

We would get a big crowd in NZ, bring it here!

Let's have it here for the next 60 straight years! (Just to make things equal and all. After all, what have the Europeans done for the sport? Besides invent it and all.)

Yeah that would be the 2002 mxdn. Go look it up. And the euro food thing eh..... We have KFC now if ur feeling that homesick.

You know what, the Americans and the Europeans may spend so much time hating one another at MXdN - both on and off the track - that the Aussies and the Kiwis may sneak a podium.

Go the Antipodes!

Are you sure you want more of them? I may be talking complete BS, but I thought the owner of Budds Greek lost some $ arranging the MXDN. Apparently Youthstream will make sure that you won't gain too much profit.

I'm trying to think what food is served in America that didn't originate in Europe or Mexico?

So far I've got... Fried Chicken & Twinkies.

Even Beef Burgers and Hot Dogs originated in Germany. You just get served around three times the amount in the states. Wink

If you had any idea of Moto history, you would know that prior to the early 70's there was no motocross racing in the US. It was us dastardly Europeans, guys like DeCoster, Aberg, Robert, Smith etc who along with Edison Dye introduced motocross to the American public. So you are stupid in claiming you haven't been given many chances to have the Motocross des nations, when in the early days you didn't even know the sport existed!

Here, do you want a tissue, or perhaps this cup of HTFU?

What's your point?

When it came to the MXDN Fro was one of our best represenatives. He had one heckuva ride on KX500 that year he and Jeremy and Lammy were a team.

Very true... I think sometimes that this race should be turned into a battle between continents instead of countries so that costs could be consolidated and maybe a little new life could be breathed into the event.

Are you sure about RD5 old mate? It doesn't seem like he would risk it to me. He is simply too focused on winning here IMO but it would be fun if he did indeed go! It seems like a great chance to get injured for the top guys IMO and kinda crazy for them (RV and RD)

Can I get a “Hell Yeah?!?” Smile I was wondering when someone was going to bring that picture up!! Fro was the man that year, and that has always been one of my favorite pics.

The crazy part is that angle doesn’t do it justice!! I’ve seen the color version that you mentioned (I’m almost positive that it was in Dirt Rider, and I’m also almost positive that I have it somewhere, been meaning to dig it out for years!), and it’s much clearer and from a different angle. In the color version he is the definition of “feet on the pegs” while at the same time “dragging the bars”!! Insane. To this day it's one of the coolest pics ever.
