I came across a video of a battle between dungey and rv at steel city and I thought oooo yeah I remember steel city! It got me thinking what are some of the legendary tracks that we lost over the years? What about the best tracks they no longer race at or what are some rare tracks that they only had a couple races at ever?
My favorite is broome tioga. Went there with my dad and got to see travis on his 125 and rc on his 250. I remember we could hear the 1 or 2 canondales from miles away before we saw the track they were so loud. It had good sight lines and I love tracks with big elevation changes and they had a mountain. Def a legendary track.
A couple staple ama pro tracks I can think of are gatorback and glen helen 😢, and a few in recent memory they only raced at one or twice are WW mx, lake elsinore, and lorettas during covid. What you guys got??

Glen Helen, Steel City, Kenworthy’s.
I always liked Muddy Creek. As far as rare goes, remember Miller Motorsports Park? I think they only raced there 3 times. I don't think anyone really liked it.
You ever ride Suntargets in Moxee?
Parker Valley MX, Rolling hills, reddick mx, Shelby sx.
Freestone
Racing World - 1978 AMA National ^
I rode that track 3 days later. :o)
Funny you mentioned that, one or two of the tracks at Miller were pretty bad ass and I thought about mentioning them. Majority of people seemed to hate them but at least one of the tracks was super gnarly
Lake Whitney
Kenworthys. Hard to beat a pro national that was 45 minutes from home.
Broome - Tioga 2006 was the last year.
RC won 450
Broc Hepler won the 250.
Unadilla in its natural state.....shouldnt mow the grass and groom it.
Pit Row
Escoheag, Rhode Island; St Peter's, MO; Agency, MO; Sears Point, CA...
Is there a list of tracks that we want to forget, as well?
This will show my age,
Hollister
Sears Point
Nob Hill near Forest City, Iowa, and Otter Creek, near Dubuque.
Pepperell, designed by the Euro’s in the late 60’s, all natural terrain. Beautiful track, excellent access, more World Champion’s on track at any given time than any Cali track !
Not a pro national but I sure miss Mosier Valley.
Got to ride Carlsbad the Wednesday after the 1975 USGP at the Suzuki School of MotoX
Mark Blackwell and A.C. Bakken were the instructors, three days of bliss and terror.
Castle Rock, CO.
Just kidding, it was a nasty, dusty, hard packed blue groove son-of-a-bitch.
We had fun ---
OPMC port Angeles Wa
Honey Lake susanville ca
Plymouth, California, old Hangtown track. Probably my all time favorite.
Sears Point. My home track. Less than 30 minutes from my home.
Binghampton, NY
What was the name of the track that went through the woods? I remember seeing it in TGO from 2004 and had a SX wibe to it.
Kenworthy.
The best georgia tracks to hold a national were road atlanta and burnt hickory.
