I love Suzukis, I was a Suzuki die hard kid in the early - mid 2000s. Still one of the best looking bikes out there 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

They updated the DRZ for the first time since the iron age, so that gives me hope for an RMZ update, if not this year than the next.

They had to update the DRZ because the prior model didn't meet Euro25 emissions standards and couldnt be sold.

Wonder what Roczen thinks about updating the RMZ450?

Last weekend I drove 2 1/2 hours to ride an event (went up the day before and stayed in a hotel). Somehow between the previous weekend and that one, my battery went flat. I have never been more happy to reach down and pull out my kick starter (2017 KTM XC-W). If it had been either of my other two motorcycles I would have been done before I even started.

It was a lithium battery, I wasn't taking any chances. Moral of my story is, I was able to enjoy the 130 km (80 mile) trail ride event because I had a kick starter as a backup.

You guys have it all wrong. It's going to have a remote start. Remote sold separately through Amazon.

Hi Jake, as an owner what would be your first wish for a 2026 RMZ to have?

1. Remove BFRC Shock for a quality showa unit. Prefer total KYB swap.

2. Slightly longer linkage

3. Switch to Pirelli or dunlops

4. Engine braking is bad. They need to do some engine work to this bike. Power is awesome and rideable, but the engine braking sucks.

Maybe I'm biased beyond belief but I'm telling you this bike I currently is completely incredible with valving and a new shock basically. The rest is preference besides the engine braking.

5) Drop 10 lbs

I am too many years removed from my Suzuki days to be able to give any advice on the new RM-Zs, if there are any. However, it wouldn't surprise me to find out that the engineers have already updated the machine, but it isn't getting released. Why? It's entirely possible that Suzuki marketing is waiting for more favorable conditions (MX bike boom) before releasing a new model, because seeing your brand-new model flop in sales is worse than seeing a seven year old design flop. The irony is that there are more manufacturers entering the market, so Suzuki's slice is going to get smaller no matter what. They aren't going to sell more RM-Zs by waiting.
At this point, If I had to bet $1,000 on what Suzuki's next motocross model will be, I'd probably say "not a 450F." I'd have a hard time deciding between "RM-E Electric Bike" or "Nothing; Suzuki is leaving the MX market."

That, my friend, appears to be a good ol' 2-stroke motorcycle.

Now, I wouldn't want to pull start that thing either, but I was referring to a modern, high-compression 450 4-stroke, like an RM-Z450. (Okay, maybe "modern" isn't the perfect word for that bike, but you get my point. Keeping it on topic.)

The rims on this 2026 Suzuki Swift look pretty sick!

If Suzuki could do electric starting while still losing about 5 pounds, it sounds like they'd at least be competitive for nearly everyone.

I love the looks of the Suzukis, but being closer to age 100 then age 0, I am one of those that would not buy one because of the kickstart.

Hopefully not, I’m about ready to replace my Suzuki and as long as the price is right again I’ll get another. They just need an e start to shift public perception. I started mine hot in 1 kick today and cold in two. It’s been extremely reliable

My YZ250 on the other hand.. Do not kick without some serious footwear. If I kicked that thing in vans and it was beyond painful.

Nope, that was me.

Outisde of Enzo doing suspension and an FMF full system this thing is stock. Stock bars, stock grips, stock clutch, BFRC shock. The only thing I could say needs to be fixed is the clutch. Outside of that, I have no complaints. It easy to ride and easy to start. Zero issues with the rear shock in any of the time that I have on this bike, but maybe thats just because of the tracks that I ride.IMG 4156 2

Just so people know, you can jump start lithium battery’s just fine. Glad you still got a ride in.

Raise the idle up to the point it's obscene. Trust me it works quite well

Hinson BTL clutch, was the biggest improvement I made after a huge fork fix. Really unbinds the suspension thru the decel and braking bumps.

Suzuki could sell so many more bikes, and get so many more people into the sport if they dropped the price a few grand. R&D has sat idle for a decade now.

As far as people getting their hopes up of any chance of future updates to these bikes.. keep dreaming 🤷🏻‍♂️
