Paint the dirt green… at a motocross track…😆 thanks I needed a chuckle hahaha. Pick up some blue and paint a river too lol. Maybe some fake palm trees and shade huts with palm frond roofs and tiki torches, bamboo fencing to line the track ? Aren’t supercross tracks just dirt ?
Sorry just bustin on ya that’s something I didnt see coming. I agree that some sort of shade would be nice, maybe along the top of the hills so it doesn’t block anyone’s view. Wouldn’t have to be fancy, it’d also be nice if they terraced the hills and gave people a level place to set up but that’s probably not happening either. But I don’t see tracks spending a bunch of money to make it look better on TV for one race a year. If that’s a deal breaker for a new viewer, they probably aren’t gonna become motocross fans anyway. They’re fine. Just my $02.
That's a sweat retention pool - it doesn't evaporate because of the humidity.
California has limited water due to politics. Politics have everything to do with how much water we have, our usage, types of usage, etc.
If the drone footage doesn’t suck a viewer in grass on the sidelines isn’t either. Watching the different lines and strategies that we can see now with the drone footage that you could never see from the ground cameras is off the hook in my opinion. If the excitement of the racing doesn’t suck somebody new in who cares what’s in the background?

Did anyone see the guy who planeted all kinds of trees in his pit area before the big uphill on the backside?
I guess Im the odd man out. I loved the scenery of 40 dudes, at the same time, trying to break that cable on the right hand side. Looked epic to me. I dont understand how people get caught up with these extraneous(the broadcast, wanting grass, etc) matters.
Also, stop with the “Cali” or “SoCal”. When I lived in Southern California, the way to tell if someone wasn't from there was if they used the terms “Cali” or “SoCal”(same thing as the term “frat”. Nobody that was in a fraternity calls them “frats”.)
I agree looks like trash but paint the dirt green?? Come on bro 😂😂😂
I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve yet to attend a race at mammoth, it’s definitely on my wish list. Hoping to maybe make it out for the Monster Energy race in June. Looks damn beautiful.
By having painted dirt? So dirt track is okay, dirt outside track is not okay. Don't get me wrong I like a scenic track too but to be concerned with the perception of the sport based on the outside of the track is a bit goofy, in my opinion.
I've lived in SoCal all my life. I've never used the term "Cali". But I do use the term "SoCal". Though I probably didn't use that term before the internet came around.
I've been to Fairliegh Castle and Glen Helen.
Both legendary tracks,
Glen Helen is a better race track, but the dry arrid scenery really detracts.
The Castle track, well it's one of the most beautiful area's on earth.
IMO.
Palalabad dam I'm start using that now 🤣
😂
This isn’t your HOA, this is motocross.
If you think the tracks look trash, you should see our cities!
Oakland is a literal dystopian trash dump.
Hahahaha “It’s been brought to our attention that the dirt is rather dirty looking”
But is it an approved color?
The color committee will examine it and we will reconvene next month. TV coverage will be postponed pending their decision
Pit Row
Crap.
My fault; that's what I get for asking.
The valley Pala is in is actually very beautiful. The tracks southern boarder is a big orange grove that smells amazing, all trees. It’s at the base of a mountain that’s full of pine trees and gets plenty of snow and has bears! 30 minutes up the road.
You guys that think it’s a desert have never been there. The desert is another hour and a half east.
But saying that I agree it looked like shit and they ruined the track layout this year. It has so much potential and a few palm trees wouldn’t be a bad idea. But I’ve been to plenty tracks with less trees.
Glen Helen is in the arm pit of Southern Ca. Ghetto ass place. I avoid it
IMO, for the average weekend warrior, glen helen and pala are not very good tracks to ride. For pro races however they’re great for watching
Cali is a term they must use back east.....always So Cal for me also.
Used to have them like this.
1978 Racing World National - Jeff Ward on a FMF Suzuki
It looked like chocolate cake to me until I saw JT standing in the rut
I think Mammoth is worth the effort and expense, especially if you go to race it. At least once in your life.
I actually quite like the look of pala with the mountains as the backdrop and blue skies.
Couldn’t agree more, pala and hangtown couldn’t be more ugly
Yeah that would be quite the experience to race there. Some day hopefully!
