Will any AMA outdoor race come close to MXGP crowd atmosphere

It’s clear fox race way isn’t a well attended national, but thinking of the upcoming races, do you expect any of them to match what MXGP can create in terms of track side atmosphere?

France today was another level, can only imagine the very best in the world either side of the pond would want to race with the greatest fan support possible.

Do you expect any other MXGP riders can match what the Nationals create in terms of speed? Your champion got spanked

Edging Jett at the finish isnt as telling as the MXGP champ battling to try and crack the top 5. I actually hope Prado does well and am just trolling you. You're the one who cares about MXGP vs AMA so much

Amazing how some people will still disrespect MXGP riders after losing 11 of the last 12 des Nations, getting spanked by Herlings at his only National appearance, and having imports like Roczen, Musquin, Ferrandis, and Vialle win titles here.

Americans were better in the 80's. In every other era, I think the difference has been exaggerated.

Pala is a shit location to attract a large crowd. Getting in and out of that place on a busy day is torture. It’s a miserable place to be when it’s hot. There isn’t a fucking tree for a hundred miles. It’s a former rock quarry owned by Native Americans and turned into fuckhole of a motocross complex.

Villopoto tried the GP’s.    Entirely a different animal.
Im thrilled to have all these riders come over and race the nationals.

Red bud is cool but the atmosphere doesn’t match the busier GP’s. European fans are wild

MXGP rounds are definitely not known for the spectator turn out. Fuck you mean? Their business is not operated on ticket sales. That’s why they can have half filled gates and 30 people in attendance.

The post said atmosphere. I don’t know the attendance numbers at Ernee versus red bud but the atmosphere at Ernee is better.

To be fair, I did just watch the highlights of Ernee and the crowd noise was insane. Might have looked it up on a map to see what it was by so I could justify a Euro vacation around race time. The "theater" layout there would create a hell of a vibe.

I’m comparing the series as a whole. Please enlighten me on the attendance of something like the Turkish MXGP vs any AMA national. France always goes crazy, but that is the exception.

Their were around 50000 people at Ernee yesterday coming from Paul malan and it was damn near a MXDN atmosphere!! Febvre having the red plate and coming from behind in moto two  to win then overall had the crowd going crazy!!

Not to mention races like Shanghai, Thailand, Indonesia, Lombok and Sumbawa. None of which draw in big numbers in spectators.

MXGP averages 18K spectators. Ernee having 50K+ offsets the poor attendance at some of the other venues.
Hangtown averages 28K each year for example

Millville at around 22,000 which seems like 50k.

You mean the atmosphere of two dozen fans at a large percentage of the MXGP races? Ernee and a few others are the exception. I live 45 minutes from Pala and didn't go because the place sucks.

Did not go to pala this year. Trackside camping also is a joke. No assigned spaces. Free for all. Can’t park next to your buddies.  I’m like 1k just showing up.

Half of these MXGP races have zero atmosphere. Some are amazing.

Guys read my other post. I was trolling the OP who starts these confrontational MXGP vs AMA threads. I love the GP guys. I actually thought Prado was going to be a lock for the podium on Saturday. I've been getting torched with "I told you so" comments since then. Ive been on this forum almost 20yrs. The threads about whos series is better is so played out. Theyre all amazing riders

Just curious, what’s the cost for mxgp attendance?

5/26/2025 7:04pm

Lewis said on pulp today that a mx national is more like a Dutch race than mxgp. I don’t think the OP is the only one who thinks atmosphere at mxgp is better.

...French fans get all the credit here, they show up days ahead of time and are passionate about Moto. No other country gets on it like the French.

I've never been to red bud for a comparison, but holy fuck the Frogs know how to party in the camping area at night, they pre game HARD!  Scenery is pretty awesome as well if you know what I mean.😍

If you guys ever go over to see MXGP on the continent, go to one of the French rounds, it's worth it...
