So with RJ moving up full time now. Who does get the most heat for being the oldest 250 rider left in the class. Anstie, Smith or Forkner ????
tomac super fan , Dylan is tht u 🤔 why u & raining yellow stop calling in on pulp
😂😂 ayyy this summer we get to see whether the 450 chilled him out or he still the same ol RJ
Yup you're right, and how many 5 min heat races (against half the field) have you won?
Half the guys on the line every week have never won a heat race and he did it on his first try, that deserves some respect.

I've won the same amount of 450 sx heats as you... seems your opinion matters as much as mine. I totally respect it its super gnarly, I just don't see that translating to winning outdoor motos
I don't and hope nobody else is expecting him to win moto's, at least not yet. But I do think hell do fine and even battle inside the top 10 or better, nobody can short him on his crazy effort.
It’s been said in this thread that he has elite speed. That means he is battling for wins
Yep. Dean Wilson won a 450 heat at Daytona against Stew. How many 450 nationals did he win
I'm thinking back half of the top 10 would be good for him . Who knows though . I'm glad he's finally moving up .
RJ has spent a lot of time on the 450. He'll be fine! I'm thinking he'd better turn down his aggression level a hair though...
This is such a stupid statement. 99.9% of us posters have the same amount of wins, 0. Doesn’t mean we can’t be a fan and bench race.
Quick scroll of The Vault makes it look like Hampshire was basically a 5-8 guy for most of his Motocross career, I wouldn't expect him to be any better than that on a deeper field in the 450s.
*Quick is a relative term, dude has over a decade of 250 results so it takes a little bit to scroll it all
That doesn't mean anything. The following race in Indianapolis he qualified 15th, crashed out in the second qualifying session, and pulled out of the night show.
Will RJ stop doing RJ things now that he's on a 450? He's 29 years old and has been a pro since 2014. How many guys have changed after 10+ years?
We'll see.
And I know Daytona and Indianapolis are different, but the point is that RJ is still RJ.
He could go out and be competitive or go out and crash his brains out. Neither would be a surprise.
I’m afraid what RJ’s gonna do in 450 SMX. 3 weekends to get a 450 title… we may have yet to see the most RJ he could possibly be!
I wouldn't be surprised if he's close to AP and Anderson in terms of speed by the end of the summer. He's fore sure got Malcolm and Barcia covered. I don't think being around the 8th place mark is out of the world, 6th would be a great result.
Smith, followed by Anstie.
9-12 respectable but not setting the world on fire this summer
Indeed, I think you'd have to spend a few weekends scrolling to get through all of RJ's 250 results.
Pit Row
Anstie is older at 32, but it's his 8th season in the 250 class.
Smith is 30 and this year is his 11th season in the class.
Forkner is 26 and this is his 10th year as a pro.
That’s the replay I was talking about!
JMart is 32 as well I believe.
That's awesome! That means there's time for me to still go Pro! WooHoo!!
