A car doesn’t have to be new for it to be leased, especially a higher value car. Not saying that this one IS leased, just saying that it being a few years old doesn’t prohibit that from happening.

With ‘regular’ vehicles, leasing a current year pre-owned is actually a good trick. Being used, it should reflect some depreciation on the ‘purchase price’, but the basic residual should be the same as if you were buying it new (unless there’s a big mileage issue on it of course).

So leasing the used car should get you a lower cap cost that you are paying interest on (the rental portion), and the cap cost minus the residual (the depreciation portion) should be a smaller amount than if the car were brand new also.

Back in the early 2000s we would go to Canada and buy their short term lease return Suburbans and Tahoes for really low prices because that first 6-9 months is the biggest depreciation, bring them back over and pay for the gauge cluster to be swapped over to mph from kph (you had to have it done by a certified 3rd party because the kilometers had to be changed to the proper miles that were on the vehicle at that time).

We’d end up leasing those vehicles with less than 10K miles on them for about 60-70% of the monthly lease of the same ‘new’ rig. And make a LOT more money on the deal.

I worked for dealership for a short time back then. Canada was just a few hours away and if you had a dealer license you could go to the lease return auctions without any issues. At that time, there was some sort of tax advantage in Canada that resulted in a LOT of short term leases on vehicles, 18 months and less. Large SUVs were actually difficult to get in the states, new or used. The Canadian exchange rate was also in our favor at the time.

Ultimately you just plugged your numbers with cap cost, credit score, etc into your leasing program and it would give you 10 or 15 options to choose from. With a lease most people know that you aren’t ’buying’ the vehicle, so less than 10% of people really questioned what you were ‘selling’ the vehicle for (cap cost). And compared to the low commission that you would earn on a new car that almost everyone knew what the invoice price was, you’d make 5-20 times the commission that you’d probably get on a new car sale.

Good on him. He’s at the top of his game and enjoying the rewards. I’m sure his parents are not stupid with his money.

I saw an interview or something a little while back with his mom talking about how they helped him get his money into real estate. Brian is a smart dude and he went the real estate route early on as well. They’ve got him and his sister on the right track with their money for sure. Now he gets to buy cool shit. At least he’s buying sports cars and not those god awful cars the Lawrences are buying.

No doubt family money helped him immensely. But, from what I’m told he’s been very smart with his money has multiple properties and investments. Don’t forget this kid was getting YouTube money a long time ago. I think he has plenty enough to have a couple nice cars. I don’t see him doing anything like renting houses for $35,000 a month yet so until then..

I’m a conflicted fan. He’s an incredible rider on a dirt bike.  However the character that he seems to play is more dime-store cheap.  I’m okay with some antics, but I don’t want to “see the work”.

That said, I believe he will have financially responsible fun with his earnings and never be broke.  I think he’s a smart kid and will listen to people that will help him with his own financial portfolio.

Hopefully, he’ll tire of the WWF stuff as he matures. …or is it WWE?

Broke guy here… but aren’t a Huracan and V10 R8 essentially the same thing?

The Lambo is way cooler looking imho.

Not all that different from leasing a building.

Classic Vital. Hopefully Haiden is reading the thread so he can learn how finances work. I'm sure he's doing just fine

Sold my  1968 RS/SS 350 5 years ago to a collector in France.    I owned that car for 28 years.   Bought it from someone who was driving it daily to work and back and my bro and I restored it.      That baby was a head turner.

I had to down vote you for selling that! Selling a car like that is just crazy. 😂

Back in the day, didn't Hannah have Yamaha get him a Ferrari because Marty Smith had a Porsche Carrera?

Quote from a RacerX interview with Hannah a few years ago: "Back in my day, I’d be into making bombs and crashing rental cars, but I was a kid and that’s what I wanted to do".

Makes Danger Boy's antics seem tame.

The car Jett bought was like 500k. The vital financial advisors were saying that one wasn’t of the wisest of decisions.
