I'm a big fan of Eli...but there was a time when you did not know what version of Tomac was gonna show up from week to week.

Tomac should easily have more SX titles than the 2 under his belt.

I think it’s funny when people call Tomac a head case. One of the best to do it with all time wins.  Say what you want but Tomac had more of those rides on Kawasaki than any other brand. As I recall back then he was getting arm pump but the guy doesn’t make excuses, which leaves people to come to their own conclusions. Kawasaki wasn’t exactly going out of their way to make Eli comfortable on the bike.

They say he was a head case. Was. And they're correct. You must remember before Eli finally got the monkey off his back and won that first sx title. He was Elito Mac. It's not like he was young when he finally sealed the deal  indoors. He was 27-28. He was clearly the fastest rider in '17, '18, and '19 and zero titles. The format of outdoors let him overcome the small mistakes that cost him in sx. "Tomac gonna Tomac" was a saying on here. It's easy to forget because he's so solid now.

To be fair to Tomac, he had a front brake issue in 2017 which was not his fault that cost him a fair bit of points. In 2018 he was killing everyone at A1 then crashed and hurt himself and in 2019 he came out real slow and then we found out he had a back injury in the off season that everyone knew about but nothing was said publicly. Injuries have cost Tomac far more then any of his odd mental lapses.

Roczen being gone meant in outdoors for him to lose it would be near impossible and he nearly did lose in 2017. I would say he was more prone to the odd rides in MX more then SX.

I'm all in for CW. It was a study in willpower this evening. Especially after getting smoked last weekend - Chase is an amazing rider too, but my bet is on Webb for the title.

Tonight was a statement.

This is a forum for people who race/ride motorcycles, some of us very well. If you ride you cannot help but acknowledge CW's abilities whether you like his personality or not. His additional abilities to perform under pressure has to be undeniable to even nonriders.

I was wondering what he was doing after he crossed the finished and was moving his arm. He was rocking the baby insinuating he's chases daddy😂

Surely, barring some extreme anomaly, that's all she wrote?

Funny enough, Webb’s own teammate returning might just be the only hope Sexton has. Right now, those two are just leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of the field. A mechanical can of course always happen. Ignoring that though, I just don’t see Webb finishing outside the top 3 both nights.

I thought that it was notable that both DB and RC separately talked about the superiority of the steel framed KTM on the slick hard packed  DB had expected the Pittsburgh ground to be wet and ready, and Cooper Webbs last chance for a win. Both Cooper’s rode the blue pig pretty well 😆

That dirt was just wierd.  Overall it held up like  hard pack but where it did get chewed up it looked like the boys were having trouble figuring it out.  I also think where the dirt crew dug out the sloppy transitions...the replacement dirt fill got cobby and unpredictable.

Wtf does his comment even mean? It's embarrassing to be a Webb fan or something? He's an all time great in sx. What's going on?

no hate towards his abilities. Read it again if you need to.

It's a comment on the sycophants on this site that read way more into a person who is fast on a dirt bike (kind of like they read more into comments than is actually there). We end up with open letter's and weirdos waxing on how amazing someone is above and beyond their dirt-bike riding. It doesn't seem to happen with any other rider--at least not to this degree.

Meanwhile on the forum, post after post is about how awful RC is in the booth. Why do you think he got the job? It's the same mentality that people here have about Webb. Ricky got the job because people failed to realize that he is little more than a dude that's just really, really fast on a dirt bike.
