Good one Paul.....  Without any help from the SX Gods, that isn't happening.  Coop has been "blessed" this SX season, and  unless Chase can throw him a bone with a fall, mental fart, etc.....  Coop cannot touch Chase for a solid 20 plus laps and Coop knows it.    Yesterday literally proved it, and Webb got the hint, also  showing to the world what a real prick acts  like after he lost with that little comment.  Truthfully, add all the injured guys in this as if they were not hurt,  Paul himself would not even be in the top 3......  Tomac, and the HRC brothers alone could seal up that deal.  As for shooting the guns at the finish?  Simple!  Chase gave him back what he has been doing for ages, only problem is, when Coop does it, his competition watches him do it at the line.  Chase, was too far ahead.....  further pouring more salt on a stinger.  Good job Chase!!!!!

Cuss me all you want, I'm too old to give 2 shits......  unless some Metamucil is involved of course.

As the president of the Chase Sexton fanclub, I don't cosign or endorse anything he said 😂 Coop has what, almost 30 wins now? You look foolish...

Correcting myself, I forgot about the mud race last lap, I think it was 3 out of the last 4 races Coop has caught and passed him LOL.  I am not at all downplaying Chase, I think he has more raw speed, I am surprised as anybody how deep Cooper has been digging this year (which is respectable).  The times Chase has been in front of him, I have just figured Chase is either going to win or crash, but no chance of anybody catching him and passing him.  I wasn't trying to be a jerk to dadofagun, I was just pointing out statistically lately, he was incorrect 😉

I like this idea. Also a sling shot gesture would strike fear as well.

Speaking of fun alternatives to finish line jump / victory lap celebrations.  I will never forget RJ throwing down Run DMCs (circa 1988):

I thought it was funny, Webb throw the guns at Sexton other week over finish, so Sexton "shot" them back at Webb this week and he's all pissy about it on podium lol. I'm praying Sexton beats him next weekend too and says on podium he'll have to wait one more week to kick my ass lol

If Chase is "so much faster" than Webb like some people seem to think, then explain how he started right behind Webb in Indy, and Webb then proceeded to put 8-10 seconds on him effortlessly? Or how was Webb able to straight-up pass Sexton at the end of Seattle? I've yet to see a race this season where Sexton passed Webb and just threw down the gauntlet and beat him by multiple sections. He has a slight speed advantage, depending on the track and how he's feeling that day. It isn't james Stewart vs Mike Alessi.

I don't know why Coop or anybody gets their panties in a wad over this! Chase is just goofing around, and not being serious. This shows a level of pussification I'm amazed to see in our sport. Get over it!

If he doesn’t bust out a two-handed bazooka over the finish line next race, what are we really even doing?

Pretty funny if Webb can dish it out, but can't take it.

Just imagine if someone like Eli or Jett did it every time they pass Webb. I think Sexton is only doing it now as mind game in one last push for the championship.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I like chase.

But before he tries to play head games with others, he needs to deal with the head games going on inside of his helmet.

The shakiest mental rider in the business just picked a fight with the strongest one. That's smart. 🙃😏

The finger guns cost Ja Morant $70K in fines from the NBA.

Add that to the reasons why the NBA sucks...

As for finger guns. Who cares. We should be focused on the close championships, which is what we all want at the end of the day.

I don't think the finger has anything to do with why Cooper was pissed.  Dude hates to lose, just like RC. He may not win next week but I'd bet he be working double time this whole week.

P.S. I think the finger gun is dumb

That sums it up perfectly---  all that did was further motivate a guy that has the strongest mental game in the business . Sexton would have served himself better to just keep his head down and try to stay focused on the task at hand ,and NOT pour race fuel on an already burning honey badger  !

What evidence is out there that Webb ‘can dish it but can’t take it?’

At least Chase has the right attitude - having a little fun and not dwelling on it too much.

I believe this thread is about the 2025 SX season, no ?? Or is my reading comprehension slipping ?

They both have the right attitude, and I think they respect the hell out of each other. Each one thinks he has one specific thing over the other one. Chase thinks he has the speed and Cooper thinks he has the mental edge and confidence. Both are pretty much correct.

I think Cooper was pissed because he lost, period. I bet he got a little chuckle out of the finger gun thing and said ok buddy, you got me this time and well played. Cooper doesn't strike me as the petty type who had had his feelings hurt over Chase doing "his thing" to him.

These last few races are going to be a hell of a battle I think, because pretty much nobody can be with those two at the end of the races.

Ok, yes Webb is mentally tough when it comes to sx. Then when outdoors starts he mails it in. Better? He's the toughest guy mentally for 50% of the year

Maybe when he was getting his ass beat in outdoors a few years ago and gave up mid season

There’s plenty of examples. There’s no doubt that Webb has a high racing IQ, but the mental gamesmanship seems to be restricted to when he’s winning.
But when he’s not doing so well, it disappears from his repertoire.
Remember when Mr “I get paid to race” had some bad results and chose to sit out the outdoors?
If your mental game relies on winning, then that’s not mental toughness. How you handle losing is the real test.

Anyone catch AP7 apologizing to Webb after the race? Whiskeythrottle had it on instagram. Won’t let me link it.
