Not to defend RC's commentating skills or anything, but as a former local MXGP announcer I can tell on his defence that we know most of the main guys by their riding style or just small details. But when an unknown guy with unknown number suddenly comes in front of the pack, we usually need to start checking papers as where the hell did this guy just jump out from and who is he. Then you make a quick read and so. I was commentating MXDN last year and hell was it tough to get all the names from various countries I haven't heard of before

Had to edit the sn parr. As the mxgp guys i have followed for many years, since Stefan was the Everts I used to cheer. Supercross fan have been since Showtime started doing nac-nac's on a Honda

I'll defer to a guy that's actually done the job. But I would think MXGP is infinitely harder with the guys all being from different countries

One of the best racers, but one of the worst commentators. Broadcasting and riding the dirt bike are unrelated skills.

Yes, correct. RC sucks as a broadcaster. As a broadcaster, you should be able to learn how to read and pronounce riders names.  It definitely shows he was home schooled and uneducated.

How the hell do you see that as a dig? I see it as truly encouraging him! I know some of you ladies stay awake at night dreaming up things to bitch about RC but damn. Take some Midol and chill.

Because it's RC being RC, the same way he was with Emig, Blair, and others.  He likes to joke and talk shit, but if someone does it to him he cannot handle it.  He was saying the kid was a nobody and not good enough for RC to be able to read a very simple name correctly.....multiple times.

On the other hand, you only have about 50 riders at a lot of mxgp races.

Thats total

Seems to me that RC’s response makes sense and he’s sharing a laugh…with Briggs…?

If I'm RC, I take that young man under my wing, teach him everything I can, help him get to the top,,, and then butcher his name a different way every time I say it, on purpose. Like Grady did Lamont on Sanford and Son!

Dude, how did you even remember those episodes? Classic tv.

"Googoogglygoo Fred!" Redd Foxx was a comedic genius. And by all accounts, a really good dude.

Really, neither. He left school to go racing, and finished his diploma in '23 through Ontrack

Would that make him a high school dropout?

Did he just skip 11th/12th completely?

Not asking to bag on him, I’d take RCs career/bank account over finishing high school

here is where this will end up handled wrong.

this a major opportunity for rickys PR guys to capitalize and actually make worthy content for the "show".

if he tracked briggs down and did a little 2 minute thing with him and use that during the night show to acknowledging the f'up and giving briggs some rghteous recognition. it would be a win/win for both.

but i have no faith in nbc to think that far out.

RC is plotting his demise as we type.

I'm just wondering if RC's response was meant as "Yeah, I butchered your name, my bad. Next time you get on screen, I got you!"

Could it be that simple?

Yeah, it was a good natured response. I give RC grief as much as anyone but the dude isn't evil. Everyone relax

I saw where J Law just earned his GED as well and will walk across the stage at Loretta Lynn's. I say good for them to finish it up.

I know Ricky probably doesn’t spend time on Tiktok but Dayton has damn near 200 thousand followers on Tiktok and i see him on my feed atleast once a day. Id understand your statement if Dayton was some local guy who no one knows of but this kids pretty well known with his social media presence.

Unless I missed it, it's kind of lame that there was no mention of him in the privateer talks this week. Not on the Weege show or the SMX insider show. The kid qualifies P2 overall, P3 in the heat leads a main event, and no one says anything.
