No way around it, they fucking suck. SX should only happen in closed domes, mud doesn't work with the format, unlike road racing where racing actually happens, SX in the mud turns into a belly flopping clown show, no one likes it.
Its been a part of the sport since the beginning of time... Not gonna happen.
It’d be nice if they incorporated Minneapolis back into the schedule around this time of year instead of when there’s blizzards and 30 below 0 temperatures. Covered dome, Midwest, lots of fans… But they pick the worst time of year for logistics by picking the coldest month of the year. The last two times they went there there was like a 24” blizzard the day of the race and then such frigid temps the next year they didn’t even want to open the vents which gassed out the entire stadium of people that still managed to make it there.
It has outdoor pits, why pick February of all months? Wait until April when it’s around 50 degrees and they’re still over around this part of the country.
Edit to add: I don’t think SX should be limited to enclosed stadiums only. Shit happens and it’s often entertaining.
It's the big bike equivalent of watching PW's race in deep sand or mud. And I bet the 10,000 or so people that were left in the stadium were miserable.
It is not fun to watch. I don’t know if I’m just sympathizing with the riders and mechanics too much but all I see is just how much of a grind it is and it doesn’t seem to reflect rider skill as much as luck.

mannnnn I’ll say it if nobody else will , just like the new nba , new nfl & new ufc fans , yal ma fukas gone soft, since when has SX been all indoors 🤔 don’t like it then go watch AX , its tht simple , yal suppose to pride yal selves on being better than stick & ball sports and here yal go acting just like em , change this , change tht…. rain or shine , dirt bike racing is dirt bike racing
Tonight was such a fun race to watch, crazy points swings, people out there surviving. It’s nice to have a good shake up at least once during the season
Personally, I LOVE racing in rain and mud. I have always done very well in that type of race.
But watching others do it, not so much. Especially SX. Outdoors it's not so bad...but watching guys paddle around a SX track in 1st & 2nd gear is just painful.
It was great seeing new faces on the podium!
maybe I’m just different then 🤷🏾♂️
rain races render the purpose of competition void imo. aside from Daytona, if the stadium doesn’t have a roof (especially in Seattle or NE areas) they shouldn’t race there.
Kinda sucked. But was cool to see some guys get career best that they may never do again. Change of faces on tv and different personalities. Gotta take the good with the bad in a situation like this. The biggest thing I hoped for was no huge swing in the championship points in 450 and that is what we got.
There was nothing “super” about that supercross race. That pretty much says it all
This right here… idk who these new kooks are.. but nobody was complaining about the mudder in dallas in 94 or 95… or the Anaheim 1 mudder with james 250 class debut or the daytona mudder chad lost… it was fine and frankly i love the variable that a absolute mud bog throws into the season and on the riders… also its not just luck, whos bike can withstand the weight of the mud, can the rider make the correct line selection to not get stuck.. can the motor handle rhe heat and drastic temperature changes without giving up the ghost…etc, theres alot to enjoy with the mudders imo.
Would i want to see one every round no.. but i need atleast 2 mudders per season imo.
Yes, SX mudders are bullshit.
If the race was yesterday it would have been perfect conditions.
Shit happens
It was souper
Slopercross
I enjoyed it. Go AP
Pit Row
It was a little fun, but mostly miserable with the conditions and not being able to tell which rider was which. If I hadn’t already purchased tickets, Airbnb, flights, etc, I would have never gone.
I fucking love it. Its what we live for. Rainy days a good tire and let it eat
I like it! Brings a different dynamic and, I think, rewards the more well rounded racers. I also love mud races myself, and got my first win in one many, many years ago.
Sorry man....
Mud makes things interesting for a change. Even moreso than sand.
What a totally exciting night of racing. Just wow...on all counts.
You can tell who the old school fans are by the response to nights like tonight.
BRING IT!
I skipped past the heats, lcq’s and would’ve skipped to the end of the mains but I caught up to the live stream. So boring to watch. It’s cool to see the privateers get on the podium but that’s about it.
Rodbell dropped down to a 250 and got 4th in the main event. That alone makes mudders a great thing.
Exactly! Can’t stand when people start complaining about a mud race. Like this is Sx/mx it’s a gnarly sport and weather is part of it. Stop complaining. I thought tonight was a good race. Obviously different than a dry race but still good!
Mud races but they don't tame the track down and keep it 20 minutes + 1 lap.
Amusing and entertaining but that is not SX.
Open stadiums and rain is shit for ticket sales, it's shit for the spectators, it's shit the for the mechanics, it's shit for the teams having to clean up everything and it's shit for the Dirtworx crew having to remove and clean all the shit up.
With all that shit said, I'm happy for the dudes who got their first podiums and first main events.
Currently it's looking like we got another shit show next weekend.
The bikes will end up blowing up.
I don't enjoy it much...the SX degrades so much that it feels like watching something similar to SuperEnduroX.
I must admit I’m all for it outdoors but in sx it’s awful to watch
