I wish.

Just another module to  use up bandwidth/make the site slower and annoy us. lol  Smile

The only way to disable a certain script on a website - is to disable scripts in detail with your own custom browser extension (I dont know any off hand that still work these days that you could just install and block a module script)

Meaning if you use for instance browser settings in chrome and disable  JavaScript within your web browser's settings - all java scripts are disabled.

Meaning you wouldn't be able to fully use the site. It functions by scripts.

Using

https://12ft.io/https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Motodrive/Moto-Related,20

works in a crude way. I use https://12ft.io/ in front of URLs to get past pay walls. It essentially disables Javascript, so you can see the hidden titles at vital when you use it...

...BUT, only on the first page. Since it disables Javascript, it disables the scroll to next page feature and when you click page 2 or 3, or whatever page, it takes you back to the homepage.  So it only works on page 1, which isn't very helpful unless you are looking at the latest content.

This is what they are counting on.  Adds "engagement", but not really.  Another click each time you do it.  I am not saying that is bad and I value this website, but that is why we have downvotes to begin with....also a terrible addition, but it adds engagement

I think it’s a great idea. Someone going off the rails saying something a little extra is subject to an extra click. Keeps things a little more classy

Exactly what I said in the new forum features thread, who isn't going to do that? Nobody, people want to see and engage with things no matter how stupid, offensive or wrong it is.

I think the consensus is clear, now please get rid of this dumb Reddit feature.

I've never seen a thread with so many thumbs up!   Keep 'em coming!  👍

Of course, like everyone else, I open the "censored" threads to see what they're about.

And then, the next time around, I open them again since I totally forgot which is which and sometimes tell myself "Oh no, not that crap again". Of course, if there's a topic that's interesting to me and I wanna see where the discussion is going, I don't remember which one it is and have to open five before I find the one I'm looking for.

At the very least, once you have opened a "banished" thread, the title should be visible every time.

Throwing the whole system in a bin would probably be even better.

Just my two cents.

That's to stop it getting hidden!

If all members remove all their upvotes from all threads and then downvote all threads, this forum would look pretty silly… 😁

Or at least, put up a button to turn it off in the personal settings.

I like the new features. It has made some of the old continuously annoying users who post constant garbage no longer show up for me. When those people’s posts are showing up every 3rd post on every thread saying something dumb it’s a waste of space and becomes just like clutter.

Thanks ML512 & Vital!

Instead of "hiding" the down voted threads, it just needs to force them to only come so far up on the list. If you get 80% down votes it shouldn't allow the post to come to the top of the stack or something to that nature.

No hiding of threads. The solution is to make downvotes public...

I got balls and if I don't like what you say I'll claim it with a public downvote.

These unanimous down votes really fuck the forum up.

Most of those who disagree are most likely the arseholes who downvote everything.

We live in a time of survival of the weakest.

What kind of snowflake do you have to be to want a title of a thread hidden because most people don't like it?

.....the same snowflakes, passes, cupcakes, vaginas, spineless or whatever else one would call them that cruise around the forum downvoting everything.

If I say I miss OC and that he was a legendary poster here....some arsehole will downvote that.

ML needs to pay attention...there is a huge amount of unhappiness here with not addressing the issues will be detrimental to the Forum.

I am paying attention and said comments in here are being read. There are some changes that we are working on.

This. Until I can mute certain certain folks I get tired of seeing garbage.
Respectfully, all the positive votes here are a perfect example of selection bias. You’re not getting votes from the people who ran away long ago due to the rampant stupidity.

Just shitcan the whole, upvote downvote feature.

Then have a 30day waiting period before new registers can post.

It'll put a stop to banned members from quickly registering under a new username.

Something very obvious over in non-moto.

Used that feature on an old DH forum.

It worked.

There may be a case for doing it in the comments, but the threads themselves?  If we're going to keep the current system, stop moving threads to The Dumbgeon and let the downvotes do the talking.

There is a mute/block function for individual users now. Click on a user's profile and there's an option to block on the next page.

Keep the blocking feature, nuke the auto hiding feature.
