Larry told me after the race that they'd be at the remaining rounds.

I am a big fan of the lucky number 7. However I think they way they have dealt with their media relations the last couple years have come to fruition. At least towards the general public. I know a lot of you have a better understanding most of the time as to the reality behind the scenes.

My point is the Stewie camp keeps everyone in the dark about a lot. We are constantly guessing and reading hearsay never knowing the truth. (Maybe we can't handle it?) And then there's I am racing, I am not racing, I am racing, I am not racing, I am sick, I stubbed my toe, I may do MXDN, I may not do MXDN, I think I wanna do MXDN...etc. etc. etc. People are sick and tired of the drama straight up. As much as I HATED RC for dethroning MC and then giving REED years and years of fits and frustration there's one thing he would not do and that's pull off. Yup too stiff, tongue in the spokes, visor up over his head, bars bent to the sky, a kawi on his back, ... He stayed in till the bell rang And sometimes finished with his own bell ringing. I am gonna take a little flaming for this but I think this is a reality.

Huh? He was more impressive that any of the other US riders bar Dungey! He also beat Short who is second in the AMA by the way... So what are you saying about the other US born 450 riders in the class if you discredit Desalle for beating James.

James will always be stupidly fast.. his speed has never been in doubt..his speed was there on Saturday but his usual problem of riding on the edge when he has people near his speed resurfaced. And my point is that if he is flustered running Dungey and desalles pace.. and you add even more riders at that level only 5 weeks away - then he may make bigger mistakes and crash .. short however may be more consistent and get a 3rd or 4th as opposed to James win or bust style. I guess that is Roger's thinking. Unadilla bore that out.. James was faster but couldn't put two motos together.

I think Short deserves his shot I think he deserves his selection. He is the second best American in the 450s.

Don't forget if James wins the next 6 motos the team can be changed until the night before the event.

1-2 in the 450s and the top 250 US riders is a great team.

Awesome!!! I expect them to improve. But I still think that the right decision was made with regards to the MXDN.

I get the bike set up was not great and will guess that he'll have game for Dungey in the next few races. Still I felt he ought to be on the MXoN team given the way he handled Shorty in Moto 1...... Time will tell for both Stewart outdoors and how we do in Lakewood.
Handled Shorty? He was riding way out of control just to finish 12 sec's in front of an in controlled Shorty!!! No doubt JS7 has the speed to win, but we don’t need him to show up at the MXDN to ride over his head, crash and cost us a chance at the win. Maybe his team will decide to race a full motocross series in 2011 and get a deserved chance at representing for his country.

If you ask me , this was the last year we saw Stewart and MXdN in a same sentence. You all bitch about Italy, but look how you screw your own riders.

Don't know what is hard to understand. Click on the link for results. He didn't beat Short, and wouldn't have beat short even if he had stayed out for the second moto. Motocross is the combination of 2 motos.

It's a conspiracy!

Well, James ain't earning points for going to any future MXDNs. Maybe someone from the selection committee will respond .... but don't hold your breath. I'm thinking this all should have been done behind closed doors. It's not hard to imagine that the other teams / riders involved simply needed a decision made and couldn't wait any longer. But who knows.

I'm glad he finally views the MXDN as being important ... and just hope he is sincere and not just motivated by his reality show. He never seemed like it was that big of a deal to him in the past.

I'm not thrilled with Short but DeCoster made some rather valid points about why they chose him ... and it's about more than just the rider.

The more I hear James Stewart, arguably the most talented rider of all time, whine and cry like a little bitch, the more I admire Christophe Pourcel's comeback from injury and desire to ride and win in the sport he loves.

I bet you will. We have only zero professional 450 riders. But we still be able to make A final, as usual.

The only time the MXoN is a hornor to Stewart is when it is in the USA so it is not as inconvenient for HIM to go. When it is out of the USA he makes a excuse why he can't or shouldn't go. If it was not at Lakewood I bet he would want nothing to do with it.

Grover.., I suspect if the MXdN spot was still in question James would of done anything humanly possible to get to the front in moto 2. IMO he would of pulled it off too. Well not to the front but at least in front of Shorty. It was rather obvious when Erin interviewed him on the line he was damn sour and pretty much over Unadilla. That being said the old James (pre L&M) would of stayed out there and did anything he could to win MXdN or no MXdN.

He's done one race in two years.... He ain't my rider. Racers race. If he's leading or second in the points next year he should get the spot. That will stop all this mess.

I sure like watching Stewart in a race a lot more than reading the horseshit people write on message boards about him.

As far as the MXdN, in my business at least it's very common when people are disappointed for it to come down to differences between what the speaker thought he said and the hearer thought he heard, regardless of what was actually said, but it doesn't mean either is insincere or acting in bad faith.

I'd be curious how much communication went on after that, particularly given the uncertainty over Stewart's recovery.

As far as the choice between Stewart and Short, either is a great choice even if for different reasons. I'm pretty sure having two good choices means you make a good choice either way.
