Nobody’s mentioned Sean Hamblin. Dude had a solid run there for a couple years. Same with Michael Byrne!

Tons of names floating around in the back of my mind, a couple that made impressions in me in person that come to mind are Hunter Hewitt and Tye Simmonds.

Mike Bier . 3rd place 125 nationals. 1984. Privateer. On the really slow yz125.

Marty Tripes was famous in the mid to late 70s. He should not be on this list imo.

There’s a few on here that are well known but just haven’t raced in the last 20 years.

Gibson and I used to be neighbors. Had the opportunity of getting a few lessons from him too.

Who was that one kid that made his pro debut in the 450 class?

He had a ton of hype but never really won anything.

His name is really escaping me right now........
He rode for a few different teams but their bikes weren't ever up to his standards.

I can see his face, just can't put a name on it.............
You know, he went to Canada, then was going to do the GP's, then decide not to for some reason?

Oh well, guess we'll never know his name.  Fascinating career trajectory though.

Wait I got it! Phil Nicoletti!    No, nevermind, that's not him.  Phil Nicoletti is just some kid that he and his dad mentored.

Mike Alessi ?

This has always been fascinating to me, the different regions of riders.  Reminds me of the whole east-west FMX thing, I think Clint Esposito was one of the east guys.  I appreciate the reply!

You forgot Greg Zettinkorff (spelling??) This dude had one of the craziest riding styles that I've ever seen. He was fast though.

I hope this is the right forum to put this in, but lately I’ve been curious about some older riders (2000s-2010s) who used to be stars I suppose.  Everyone knows Jeremy McGrath, Mike LaRocco, Ken Roczen, Justin Barcia, and similar big names.

I know of Jason Lawrence (notably with Yamaha of Troy), Josh Grant, Justin Brayton, Nico Izzi, Austin Stroupe, and Ryan Mills, but I know I’m forgetting many other riders who were brief hot shots.  I remember seeing a jersey with the name “Sleeter” at a small motocross museum in Virginia.  I think that’s Mike Sleeter?  I don’t know too much about him.  Can anyone name some other riders who fit this category?  I’m trying to find some older footage with them in their prime and whatnot.  I appreciate any help!

We have riders mentioned from the '70's, '80's and '90's here. It says 2000's-2010's. Hmmm.

Going through results in 06 and just naming riders that fit the description

Terren O'Dell, Lowell Spangler, Sean Lipanovich, Tevin Tapia, Jake Canada, Justin Sipes, Tyler Keefe, Shane Sewell, Mike McDade, PJ Larsen, Les Smith, Ben Lamay, Derek Rogers, Tommy Weeck, Michael Sottile, Matt Boni, Jarred Browne, Jeff Loop, Oscar Diaz, Nick Paluzzi, Killy Rusk, Gavin Faith, Lance Vincent, Tony Archer, and probably dozens more I'm not remembering.
