Do you honestly believe that, in 2025, Japanese people see tattoos and automatically assume Yakuza connection with absolutely no context, or ability to differentiate?

No, but the associated stigma largely remains.

You know a lot of corporate salary men with sleeve tatts?

Yes. Literally yes.  I don't know them to wear short sleeves at work either, since they are professionals/businessmen.

What century are you living in?

Are you trying to usurp magoober from the position of chief deegan prostate milker?

You are essentially not allowed to go to most onsen but that’s really it. Last time I was in Japan, there were even girls working at a vegan restaurant with hand tattoos, not many people care. I have definitely heard the same thing that you are saying, but it’s outdated.

It does seem like overkill the whole arrested and photo taken for a speeding fine unless it was for more than just that.. Seems like it coulda just been 'racing' someone on a highway..

I will roll my eyes if he thinks it makes him a badass though

My eyes did in fact roll

From the news story it looks he got the full experience and got to spend a night in jail. It said he was arrested of the 21st which was Friday and bonded out on Saturday morning.

The 'full experience?

Busted cheeks and tossing salad?

Sleeves aren't that common with salarymen, but not for cultural reasons. It's mostly because a well done sleeve is expensive, and the average salaryman job doesn't pay enough to afford them. I know tons of people who have multiple tatts, though, including my wife who runs a marketing firm in Tokyo and has probably 50 employees under her.

Well, mostly because uninformed people like yourself who didn’t bother to read about what he was actually arrested for (hint: not speeding) have added their two cents in ignorance.

Okay, reckless public stunt driving, then. It's not a secret Deegs isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. If not for his abilities as a motocrosser, he probably would've lived in a community like Slab City. Way too much attention for something that if it had been committed by a non-professional athlete, it would not have received any attention at all.

Every athlete cultivates his own image, and the Deegans are way better than I am at it, but this promotion of being arrested, like he's proud of it, is a bad look. Also send a terrible message to his younger fans. Street racing is a massive problem in CA.

Exactly! I bet him and daddy are so proud that he can now add "Arrested" to the list to bolster his DNGR, bad boy image like daddy had!! Even though it's something petty like this. Get's to feel legit with the mugshot, and can show case it with his "walking on the wild side video."

This is nothing but a well-crafted clickbait campaign to keep DNGR in the headlines while SX is on the east coast swing. Anybody comparing this to the stupid shit that Travis did is a dream for Vital advertisers.

The non-professional athlete wold not had printed tshirts and tried to make a PR stunt of it neither.

Yeah I’m sure Deegan said, “I’m going to go get arrested for clicks” last week…

The statute he was charged with violating is a criminal statute, not a civil-traffic one.  Cops don't get involved in fender benders on private property typically if they are purely traffic and no crimes were committed.   If one of the drivers was drunk, however, they would get involved since DUI is also criminal and not civil-traffic.

Makes sense.

It’s crazy how many of you old men are so jealous and wish your name was Haiden Deegan! Wow!

How about be happy for a young man who has 10x the success as you and maybe you’ll also be as successful one day.

Instead you hate and slander the man’s name for doing some donuts in his Audi. Like you never did anything bad when you were a teenager. Ridiculous.

The guy is shaming people for being critical of DEEGS glorifying his shenanigans with t-shirt sales and IG reels, when the optics really aren't great for messing around on the street generally, harmless parking lot donuts or not.

He was picked up at the Walton Sports Complex, that looks like it's a public park, does that count as a private parking lot or public road? I don't know.

Ok, I'll take the bait. Never once been jealous or wished I was Haiden Deegan, I would like to see him take the silver spoon out of his mouth and start to appreciate the talent he was given. I'd like to see Brian be a better parent and not support his lack of maturity.  I do hope that someday Haiden will be as successful as me. My father died 37 years ago last week while I was a senior in high school. I took a job at the soup plant after school to help send my mom to college. Then when my grandfather became ill I took over his farms to keep them profitable while the nursing home took the money. I have worked my way up in a company to be the shop/project manager. I have raised 1 son (Army national  guard) and 5 daughters with 2 still in college.  I have a beautiful wife to share my life with. As much as motocross is a part of who I am it is not all I am. So I can only hope that Haiden can 1 day be as successful as me. And yes I did dumd shit as a teenager, and still do dumbest today but I learn from those things.

The mugshot shirts are cringy when they are for a traffic ticket!

If this was 20 years ago Brian Deegan would be making fun of Haiden.

My point is that there is a huge difference between what TP did and this. The angry pitchfork mob in here just has a hard on for dngr and I find it entertaining as all hell. Got to make a popcorn run.

The t shirt thing is just stupid, they had to post bail so I am guessing he still has a court date, Judge may not be nice.
