When is the Tomac retirement announcement?
Hopefully not for another two years.
Personally not a fan of this. Regardless of potential wrong doings by Lucas, he literally taught Jacob everything he knows, took him under his wing when his racing career concluded and I very much believe Jacob would be nowhere near where he is today without Lucas input into his career and life. I know he's now the Lawrence's agent but this seems way to personal towards Lucas, and looks extremely unprofessional from a WMG employee who's supposed to represent high end clients.
Unfortunately/ fortunately in this world you are innocent until proven guilty, nothing has been proven yet, if and when he is proven guilty then yes rain down hell on him but until then if I was WMG high ups if be telling Jacob to keep it professional.
Might be an unpopular opinion but my $0.02

You have to hold people in your life accountable for their actions, no matter the relationship.
And Mirtl obviously doesn't give a fuck about any of his "moto friends", as evidenced by his siding with Cooksey and immediately turning on his proponents.
This is what happens when guys who barely have GEDs become "Agents".
Damn, that dates you Ringo! I bet you know the Gilligan's Island theme song by heart.
We've been using malapropisms while discussing Mirtl , sorry it went under your head.
My crappy 2 cents on this: Jacob Hayes needs to STFU, and do his job. He is showing how inexperienced he is at real life. Why does WMG hire morons?
Man you lyin' you ain't never met martin luther the king
I agree that WMG seems to hire morons. If Jacob's job is to get more clients and Mirtl is peddling lies to keep clients that otherwise would have gone to WMG, wouldn't this help him sway some of those people to Jacob?
My opinion on Jacob is he should be doing what's best for the Lawrences. Banter posts with Mirtl are childish, and do nothing positive. WMG should handle keeping clients, and obtaining new ones.
WMG can pay these guys with little formal education peanuts compared to what an agent for another sport makes. We don't have better outside sponsors because we have a bunch of core lord bros bumbling around trying to look cool instead of speaking the language that helps attract a coca cola or a John Deere to our sport. The reason Jeremy was so successful with all of his deals wasn't necessarily because he was so dominant, it was because he was smart and hired a publicist that wasn't from the moto world. You get what you pay for.
Not sure how I missed that....cover me dumb.
Knocked the wind outta me but yes I did!
There it is…both sides…playing the fool in the public domain when they should STFU & wait for their day in court…as 145 says,”…looks extremely unprofessional…” & that includes Myrtl’s panic-posting, too.
As for the WMG attorneys not figuring out jurisdiction…? That’s pretty damn entertaining! 🤣
If what all this comes down to is the mis-charging/mis-appropriating funds for paying for a rider to be at their compound…?
If that’s the smoking gun…?
Well, then I hope this thing is over soon and he’s simply instructed by the court to repay them.
“Oh there they go. There they go, every time I start talkin 'bout boxing, a white man got to pull Rocky Marciano out their ass!”
Pit Row
The WMG suit would be filed in a CA. court as it is outside of the Jettson Donuts lawsuit.
Is it just me or is cooksey’s left eye lower then his right. Does he have Down syndrome?
Droopy eye? Yes.
Down syndrome? Cannot confirm
Clown syndrome? 100% can confirm
Dude, Mirtl has been publicly absolutely trashing Hayes constantly ever since the initial scandal broke. If he taught Hayes everything he knows, then Jacob is just doing what he learned.
How can I apply to work at WMG? I figure if they hire someone like me that does literally nothing it's an upgrade from these clowns.
Honestly, federal court diversity jurisdiction is tricky, and you'd almost always want to try to get into fed court because of its resources and generally they cast a broader net for the jury pool than typically is the case for a state court, and the default assumption is that you're more likely to be hometowned in state court. And federal judges generally look to boot diversity cases for any reason they can to reduce their docket of cases.
Here's the diversity statute - I've left out the class action stuff out of mercy. To quote the Stones . . . "have a little sympathy," and "you can't always get what you want." 🙃
28 U.S. Code § 1332 - Diversity of citizenship; amount in controversy; costs
a)The district courts shall have original jurisdiction of all civil actions where the matter in controversy exceeds the sum or value of $75,000, exclusive of interest and costs, and is between—
(1) citizens of different States;
(2) citizens of a State and citizens or subjects of a foreign state, except that the district courts shall not have original jurisdiction under this subsection of an action between citizens of a State and citizens or subjects of a foreign state who are lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States and are domiciled in the same State;
(3) citizens of different States and in which citizens or subjects of a foreign state are additional parties; and
(4) a foreign state, defined in section 1603(a) of this title, as plaintiff and citizens of a State or of different States.
(b) Except when express provision therefor is otherwise made in a statute of the United States, where the plaintiff who files the case originally in the Federal courts is finally adjudged to be entitled to recover less than the sum or value of $75,000, computed without regard to any setoff or counterclaim to which the defendant may be adjudged to be entitled, and exclusive of interest and costs, the district court may deny costs to the plaintiff and, in addition, may impose costs on the plaintiff.
(c)For the purposes of this section and section 1441 of this title—
(1) a corporation shall be deemed to be a citizen of every State and foreign state by which it has been incorporated and of the State or foreign state where it has its principal place of business, except that in any direct action against the insurer of a policy or contract of liability insurance, whether incorporated or unincorporated, to which action the insured is not joined as a party-defendant, such insurer shall be deemed a citizen of—
(A) every State and foreign state of which the insured is a citizen;
(
every State and foreign state by which the insurer has been incorporated; and
(C) the State or foreign state where the insurer has its principal place of business; and
(2) the legal representative of the estate of a decedent shall be deemed to be a citizen only of the same State as the decedent, and the legal representative of an infant or incompetent shall be deemed to be a citizen only of the same State as the infant or incompetent.
WMG's claims are subject to mandatory arbitration so they won't be in court unless/until it is to confirm an arbitration award. They initiated the arbitration proceedings in Los Angeles last month.
WMG filed a case against Mirtl here in Texas seeking injunctive relief that was quickly dismissed. They were just trying to get him to handover his laptop. The case itself was relatively insignificant but it did reveal the basis for and the amount of their claims (including a copy of the employment agreement and a copy of their arbitration submission). They are seeking significantly more than the Lawrence lawsuit.
Nah man, the other lawyer said it's most likely over 😂
Significantly more than the previous ~$600k? I think that was the number, don't quote me on that.
"If what all this comes down to is the mis-charging/mis-appropriating funds for paying for a rider to be at their compound…?"- It's way more than this. This is actually the least amount of funds that was misappropriated.
It's about time we got an "esquire" joke in this thread! 😁
Definitely not over, two separate battles on opposite sides of the country with a brief touchdown in Texas. lol
WMG claims Mirtl stole $500k+ from them, $700k+ from their clients, and then they have some random fraud and and employment related claims (return of advanced wages, etc.).
Just one side of the coin at this point, Mirtl hasn't filed anything of substance yet.
That's perhaps the least egregious misappropriation in the complaint, although -- along with the Coenens RV -- the most ludicrously brazen.
I don't see any way he could possibly justify as business expenses:
$18,000 toward his own divorce attorneys.
$15,000 Venmo'd to his babysitter.
$145,000 in unapproved/unrepaid 'Loans to be paid back EOM'
