I feel like the current Pulpmx empire is all about kissing the ass that benefits Steve and co the most. Long gone are the days when Pulp was "edgy" and truly something special - it's just corporate Steve and the clique around him these days. Well, I guess you have to pay for those famous high ceilings somehow. For me, it's just sad, really. Kinda like your favourite rock band changed their style to modern mainstream auto-tune pop.

So after a few days with all this out, if i was RC, I would announce my departure. Taking an honest look. If I saw that many people absolutely hated the product I put out. I’d highly consider giving it up for the greater good. It’s not like it’s even a 70/30 split. Thousands upon thousands want him gone. Why wait for network to move you. Do us all a favor and just read the room dude.
Him staying to me just proves he thinks he’s the shit and no matter the chatter deserves the job.

Queefer would get down on his knees and spread RC's chubby arsecheeks wide if required. All of them would, which is why you see zero criticism of RC from anyone in the industry. It's an outrageous example of the emperor's new clothes. The whole industry stands around blowing RC, praising his horrendous commentating skills - just like the sycophants surrounding the naked emperor in the tale. The fans are like the kid who stands up and says 'hey, that guy is naked!

Or maybe the reason you don’t see criticism of RC is because he’s generally a nice guy that most people have positive interactions with. He doesn’t come across well in the Blairs Breakdown video, but you’re never going to get on with everyone in life and we’ve only heard DB’s version of events, maybe he himself was a real pain to work with. It just shows how much people cling to negativity these days, one person has a bad experience with a guy and everything they say is taken as gospel. But anyone who says that they haven’t seen that and think he’s a nice guy is just seen as a shill. It’s sad
Or running a tool and die shop, being a surgeon, or nurse, fireman, policeman, attorney, soldier or any other really diificult job with zero room for error. RC has to bang his gums for three hours and fucks up constantly and for seven - eight years and the narrative is it's a hard job, give him time, he'll get better. There are many, many people who work jobs every day where people's lives are on the line, don't tell me RC's job is hard, that is a pussy's excuse for mediocracy. Tell the border patrol in Texas RC's job is hard, or roofers in Arizona in August. Give me a break, if you want to be good at what you do every job is hard.
I think from Pastrana to Lusk, his fellow riders and team mates found him hard to work with. The fuel infraction and him threatening to go home was a bad look. The dude has a history. And the several videos with him shitting on Blair are a pretty bad look. The evidence is pretty conclusive he is petty, insecure, arrogant, and self centered. And pretty shitty on the broadcast obviously.
We are nearly 20 years removed from his raving career, where quite obviously he was insanely driven, selfish and intense or he wouldn’t have been nearly as good as he was. Prior to this week I had heard almost exclusively good things from anyone who had recent interactions with him. I didn’t like the way he came across in those videos, but I’m not just going to ignore the fact that most people who’ve met him recently seem to like the guy

I agree. The silence from their side will let this blow over. It's already gone from any media and nobody has reported to have reached out to Ricky. The story will die and DB likely just went down about a dozen notches in the industry unfortunately. I don't agree with that being the end, but I bet it is
I honestly don't understand why DB decided to do this. Seems a bit scorched earth. Whether it's true or not I think he blew it all out of proportion. I don't understand why he was so pissed about getting 6 rounds to broadcast on. That seems pretty good for a guy who hasn't been doing this his whole life. Maybe after a few years of 6 and then he would be full time. DB seems to think he should have leap frogged everyone purely on talent, but we all know that is not how it always works in the real world. Unfortunately, this probably could have been worked out eventually had he communicated instead of clamming up, quitting and then making a video. In no way am I defending RC or LD, and actually like DB.

It is sad... RC has enough cash to live out his days and not work (or he should - unless he hired the wrong person to manage his money). DB needs the $. DB is on an upswing VS RC in announcing (CLEARLY imo). DB moved to the east coast from N. Cal as he was led to believe his TV future looked bright. And from watching the two videos’ where RC goes at DB… it is crystal clear imo that RC is looking to bash DB HARD! As in take him high in a berm and punt him off the track. This is NOT a gentle move. This is aggressive. This is a Vince Freeze move(s). Tell me I’m wrong after watching these vid’s a few times. RC is not playing. And no spin can make me believe he is…. There is NOTHING playful about RC’s treatment of Danial in those two videos imo. Of course RC may try and back pedal and say “I was playing with him – it was a joke. Everyone knows how I joke…. ha ha… fun.. fun..” Of course it was not. Read his body language. Listen to the voice tone. He’s not joking imo.
So DB was tired of it all.. .he side stepped the issue- but only for so long. And he finally just let it out….. shared exactly what he felt inside.. dam the pundits! Dam the consequences. We should all be so bold. DB knows that dumping all of this out there is going to create volatility. But he was so fed up that he could not keep that cork under water any longer. I say bravo! I’ve been there. He probably feels a whole lot better

I take your point but I'm more referring to the longstanding silence around RC's commentary skills. I find it very hard to believe that any of the moto insiders - especially experienced players like Weege - believe that RC is good at his job.

Watched that show a few times over the years and just like RC’s broadcast body of work, not only is The GOAT mailing it in, he’s even worse than his SX color (more like black and white) commentary.

Years ago I was told a phrase, “Believe nothing that you hear and only about half of what you read”. There’s some semblance of truth to that. We likely will never know the full unedited truth to what went down. I’m sure there are some BS dealings in the industry, hell every industry has some form of BS dealings. I’m getting too old to listen to all the “he said, she said” childhood crap. I really just tune out the nonsense and just try to put my focus on watching some racing. Honestly, if there was no one in the booth at all and they just showed motorcycles racing around the track I’d be fine with that. Now I gotta go listen to the regularly scheduled BS in my life. Ricky on a bike is out-fucking-standing, he was phenomenal and I'm sure none of us here need to be reminded of how great he was and just what he could do on a bike, the gnarly downhills and big sends outdoors, the accuracy and control indoors...
He was as amazing at riding and racing as he is shitty at being an announcer. Or dealing with someone doing an infinitely better job than him. Or at not being a prick on someone else's YouTube video while fawning over some VIPs and insulting the fans and the hardest working dude in the industry at the time.
