In the market for a new bike. On the fence about a 250f or 450. Local deal has left over 2024 beta 450 rx models for $5,000. That’s $6,000 off msrp. Are the bikes that bad they have to sell them for less than half msrp?
Here's Keefer's video on the '25 :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioknO48ecG4
Early on he says the main changes from the '24 is Rubber mounted Bars, a Better Battery, and Suspension valving - nothing major.
I'd assume you'd be able to find his test on the '24 in the Racer X You Tube Channel, or, his Keefer Tested (?) Site or channel.
He seems to rate it as a pretty good thing - well, pretty much All bikes are that these days. At the price you say they are offering , well, a set of bar mounts, a revalve - if You feel the need, and, a better Battery ( and that's something you'd want on most bikes now, with the deletion of KS levers) would barely put a dent in the savings you seem to be offered.
I've a mate with Betas - all have been good bikes, and he's got a 450 in his 'stable' and, I liked riding it Very Much. I really hope he gets the mooted ' soon to come' 350 2 Stroke, as I Really do think I might get one, if it comes out.
I rode a 24 RX 450 at a Beta test day and was very impressed.
I'm vet expert and rode a 21 yz450. The Beta cornered better than my yz even though the ergo's were a lot different.
The motor was noticeably softer than my yz even on the aggressive map. In one corner on my yz i could leave the bike in 3rd and it would snap out of the corner, the Beta had to be shifted to 2nd to get it to pull.
Suspension was soft for me at 185lbs but it's kyb so any decent tuner should be able to get it to work.
I had a mate time my laps, first on the Beta then on the yz. I ran a full second quicker on the Beta than the yz even though the Beta felt slower. They did start watering the track during my yz laps and i had to take it easy through one section but right out of the box i was surprised how well i could ride the Beta.
For 6k off i would buy one in a heartbeat
Question: How is parts availability?
Parts are plenty, we have a great local dealer that is a Beta guru. He a video for just about everything on the bikes as well.

I'd buy one today if I had the money.
As someone who owns one, it's a great bike. The media nitpicked some things, and they aren't wrong on some of them like the mapping and suspenders being way off. Very crusty forks and a spikey mid-stroke harshness on the shock. Beta sent out a service bulletin saying they will update the battery and a couple other small wiring things, so the dealer should have all that done if you take one home.
If you buy one have the dealer remap the ecu with the '25 specs, and take the money you are saving and get the suspension done by a reputable tuner, and get some 20-23mm adjustable offset clamps. I got the first set of the Luxon gen 3 pro clamps and they made a big difference on comfort going into choppy corners and getting the front end to feel more planted.
The bike is a 100% solid, all around choice and I wouldn't make a different choice if given the chance. I've let a couple ex-pro's spin some laps on it and they said it was much better than what they had heard from the reviews. SVC has a leftover '24 for close to what you were quoted and it's almost too good a deal to pass up.
I order everything directly from Beta and have it within 2-3 days.
I’m a big Beta fan, have a 300 RX. I had my 23 Honda for sale with intent to buy a 450 RX. I couldn’t give my Honda away. I passed on getting a 450 RX and bought a left over 24 KX450. I could have just about bought 2 green bikes for what an RX cost and a 450 green bike is a solid vet ride. I haven’t ridden a 450 RX so I can’t say other than what I’ve read. I do know Beta is a high quality ride. I like my 300 RX.
I’ve kicked around flipping a couple of bikes in the garage and find a left over or used 450 RX just for grins. I’d like to see Beta come out with a 4 stroke 250 RX, I’d probably buy one.
I am seeing the 2024 RX for $4999 on Cycle Trader. I emailed my local dealer, if that is true I am getting one.
Beta is not upgrading to the '25 rear axle or the updated subframe, but everything else, yes. That said, those two things are not to be concerned with unless you are seat bouncing shit on a SX track.
And I am lucky in that if I get my parts order in by 9am, it will arrive at my house by the next day.
I purchased a new Beta 430 about 2 years ago and definitely ended up being one of my favorite bikes I've ever owned. Never had a problem getting parts for it, (OEM). But getting aftermarket stuff for it was kinda difficult back then, but seems a little better now. The bike is built solid and working on it, not to bad. If your looking for a bike you can trail ride, ride track days, vet race and purchase at under $7000 otd, you just found it.
Are we talking battery, rubber bar mounts, sprocket and footpegs?
wow !!! where do you get that price ? what's your OTD $ then ?
Taxes are 6.5 % here (FL) but even if you take this out of the equation, $5,000 msrp should lead to a no brainer OTD for a solid bike
A local dealer can do only $9,900 OTD on one he has on the floor. Beta typically charges $495 for freight
Great deal…..scoop it up and enjoy new bike day!
Here is the service bulletin.

Ahhh, Ill do all that myself. Thought I was gonna get some spare parts.
I bought a Beta for the same reason (money)… love it. Enjoy the bike more than any of the KTMs or Hondas I had before.

Do you own a 450? If so what’s your opinion of the bike? How has it been reliability wise compared to Japanese bikes?
I just finished doing the update on one we have going out. Beta will warranty that update just make sure the dealer has done one before it goes out. Pretty easy to see if its been done, if there is a ground wire on the back/clutch side of the starter then it has not been done. I also flipped the starter relay over. Was not a fan of how the wires were run. I'll take a pic of what it looks like after I changed it for those that are interested.
Yeah, I have a 24. It has been good so far. Things you will want to change on the 24 are obviously get the suspension done, stock foot pegs are trash, solid bar mounts aren’t terrible but the luxon rubber mounts definitely helped. Battery is weak. As far as reliability I haven’t had any mechanical issues aside from the stock silencer guard broke off and the engine mounts came loose.
I’ve been riding the Austrian bikes for the last few years. The only Japanese bike Ive been on recently was a 24 YZ450 which was great but I prefer the Betas mellower engine.
I have a 22 300RX also that has been solid with over 100 hours on it.
I rode the 2024 RX which prompted me to then buy a 25 last week. My only complaint with the 24 was I had it flame out on me a couple times, and the battery struggled to start it. The dealer is supposed to reflash and give you the upgraded battery at no charge with the 24, so no stress on that stuff. I think it's a no brainer for 5-6k. I have two rides on the 25 now and am super happy with my decision. You get the steel frame of the Austrian bike, Yamaha suspension, with KX type power. It is super mellow on bottom compared to my Honda, but I am super happy with my decision.
Damn dealer! I can't pass this up, gonna grab one!
You will not be disappointed at all, Alph. As Dirtmike mentioned, go through all of the bolts as mine did what his did. I'm still having to go through the spokes every couple rides as they like to loosen up a little.
So all I have done to mine so far.
20-23mm offset Luxon Gen 3 pro Clamps made a huge difference in front end feel, the stock clamps are soft junk. I'm using the 20mm offset and forks flush at 100mm sag.
FMF header and slip-on, didn't really do much as the stock exhaust is really pretty good but it did help clean up the midrange.
'25 mapping is better but I would love an aftermarket ecu option.
Bryce @ Beta did the revalving and a couple other little things to the forks and shock and it is a totally different bike.
Pro Taper bars
Seat Concepts replica seat.
51 tooth Mika rear sprocket
Raptor pegs
Acerbis frame guards, the stockers are like gripping ice.
Dunlop MX34's, those Maxxis tires are garbage.
TM Designs chain slider and block.
P3 Carbon skid plate. Kind of a pain in the ass as you have to drop it to change the oil, but you also have to remove the header to be able to easily do that. Not happy with that part.
And a good x-ring chain.
My dealer explained it that Beta had to bring 500 units to race SX. That is why they are on sale to make room for the 2025s.
What dealer has them for that price?
10,200 at a New York dealer, you better scoop that up. How many they have and where?

I’m in, probably pick it up next week.
The bike was only discounted $1,300 on that site.
