lol. Apparently AC got in crap and kicked out by a sherrif or security guard at Daytoner! Haha
Greatest misunderstanding on earth? 🤣
Poor guy can’t win. Eye witnesses say the security/sheriff was a clown.
He’s already back in with his credentials returned.
Daytona security is the WORST. My personal story about this is as follows.
I was working for the Honda road race team in the early 2000's. We arrived a few days before the race to set things up. As it was the first race of the year we were still receiving parts. So we had them shipped to Daytona. While driving back and forth from the infield to the receiving, which was across the street OUTSIDE the track, we were stopped every time. On one of the trips, keep in mind this is like our 5th trip of the day, heading outside the track they stopped us at the tunnel to ask us for our track credentials. They were not going to let us drive out of the facility if we did not show our credentials. And those security guards are dead serious about their job. Too funny.
So it does not surprise me that someone, in this case AC, would have a beef with them. They think they are working the perimeter at Fort Knox.
Devils advocate. After fans storming a live track last year maybe they’re starting to get a bit more serious with security.
Good for ac. He doenst need this shit. He should walk out and go watch the race at a biker bar while he counts his money In The back room. Show up to RDL with a face tat

There has been a number of run ins and complaints about Daytona security for years. Matthes was tweeting when he got in trouble there in the 90s
DC had been 86ed from the Daytona SX for years because he could not get credentials even though RacerX was a leading magazine. Daytona isnt a Feld event so they have diffent rules.
Why couldn't the Sherrif wait until tomorrow and kick out RC? 🤣
Just kidding of course!
In 1985 I got pulled off pit row of the Daytona 200 where I was a privateer pit member by a security guard and taken to the police station on Daytona property outside of turn 4. Happened 15 minutes before the start of the 200.
It’s a long story. The first photo below is inside the police station
That was embarrassing and a black eye to this sport....
If he had his credentials on him, then what a joke. But if you're at a credentialed event and don't have your credentials on you, it doesn't matter who you are, expect to be escorted out. That's how it should be.
You can't expect any security guard to recognize you.
I can see it now :
AC in one of those Jackets provided by Feld, with his 'Innocent', somewhat Childlike face, in a Bikers Bar .......... yup, he'd fit in really well 😁
I spy Freddie’s bike
What was it called - the FWS-1000?
We had one( or two) of those campaigned by Mal Campbell and / or Andrew 'AJ' Johnson here in OZ, during the Swann Series, and the Oval Pistoned NR750/850 - Not the Road Bike, the full on Works Weapon. Heady days. The Swann Series was a great, end of season RR series here in OZ, that got a fair few exotic bikes, and World Racing Stars over to ours shores.
Reading what you guys said reminded me of Anthony Micheal Hall in Weird Science
Cooksey needs to get to the bottom of this!
Rick Astley got carded?? Lol

20 min
Yep that security guy looks exactly like the type of guy that would hassle AC like that
Pit Row
Go to 20 mins on that video put up by umagumadog.
It shows the AC 'removal'.
F**k me, the way that official snatched away ACs credentials was rather childish and arrogant.
Though, AC Not wearing it around his neck, was a bit 'asking for it'. And, I can see some concern for a 'skinny youngster' ( AC really doesn't look much more than a kiddo) standing on the edge of the track / jump and that, getting securities 'goat'.
I only came across ( from recent threads here on Vital, I think ) that blokes' videos a short while ago. He does a pretty good job of it.
AC is a broadcaster and beloved racer who was standing on a jump on a part of the track not being used. That guy has his little power trip thinking he's boss and nobody gonna fuck with him but in reality he's just a dickless douchebag who's gonna end up getting a lot of drinks accidently spilled on him by anyone who recognizes him tomorrow.
AC handled himself well all things considered.
Is standing on jumps during press day that is not being used common practice at other events? I feel like it is, that dude could of politely asked Adam not to stand there and I'm sure Adam would of moved for him, guy was definitely being a dick
she broke my heart in two!
broke more than your heart!
That’s the troof baby, that’s the clean troof! 😂
What a tool that guy is! Yanking AC’s credentials like hes his 9 year old son!
The guy was being a dick. But there's a high chance he doesn't even know who AC is. A "random" guy, dressed in a polo and pants with no visible credentials, is standing on the track while riders are on track. If this was a fan, I'm sure many people would applaud the guy for doing his job. He's probably already annoyed knowing what he's going to have to put up with for the rest of the weekend.
“I’m sorry, Mr Grizzle, this office hasn’t been informed of, uh, anything…..”.
It was wheelie boy type behavior
I ended up crossing paths with some sheriff's last night while taking the dog to find some place to stretch her legs. I asked if he had heard about a big wig getting the boot, i said ac's name and he said yup, it was me.. i laughed and told him its a huge story on the Internet because ac is like the nicest dude and rather important to the tv production. His lady cop friend pulled her phone out and googled then i heard gyspies voice playing because she clicked the first vid regarding it.
He then told me that the head of Daytona Track security called the sheriff's and he was simply the responding officer. He said the Daytona guy claimed ac was on a hot track track during press riding and that was grounds for removal. Cop said guy probably didnt know who ac even was (cop didn't either) and the cop and ac had good conversation and said ac was super kind to him and just explained the Daytona guy probably didn't even really know what was going on. Cop said he had no choice because when hes inside the track, that guy is his boss. He never took him offsite or anything from what i understand and within a short period all was back to normal.
Imho, FUCK THAT!
