Forkner STILL a crasher!!

He used to be the fastest guy on the track prior to crashing out.  Now, not so much.

I was not aware.  That makes a lot of sense.

I also think he is figuring out his new position in life: (soon to be father/while attempting to be "safe" on the track)

I believe he can do it, but needs the gate drops to build confidence. That inner speed is still in there. Just give it some time to all fall into place. He seems like an intelligent young man that will figure it out.

It amazes me you guys thought another massive hit to Forkner's head would make him faster.

I for one think the best plan for Forkner would be

1. Have fun, play it safe and get top 10 in 250 points this year.

2. Motocross season, go balls to the wall and try to win the 250 championship.

3. 2026 Supercross, go balls to the wall and yet that Supercross championship.

4. Defend motocross championship plate

4. 2027 Supercross, move up to 450.

Nobody thought that, just like the massive hit you sustained to your head didn’t make you faster or smarter either

Come on Pops, I know it was an easy target but your better than to take time out of your day and waist it on something like that.  After all, you got little things coming to worry about.  😉

Guys gave me lots of shit when I said I didn’t think Forkner would be a championship contender. Maybe if he stays healthy all year he can contend next year. He certainly has the talent, but some here were acting like he was gonna dominate everyone.

I'm one of those guys, due to past results.  I still think he can win a race this year.

Macadoo has a heck of a lot of fans here, and he's won a fraction of what Austin has, and crashes out a lot too.  Always seemed weird.

Well, Forkner just got a 7th in an AMA SX race. After crashing. I have reviewed all my dominant performances and still have not accomplished that. And I think there were 15 guys who would trade finishing position with. I may go out and practice some crashing this week.

Be realistic. Austin has always been much better at sx and never a real threat for an mx title. I mean, I guess that can be part of his plan to try. But it might not go well trying to hang it out to win outdoors

Hes a better MX rider than people think. After his rookie year he was considered to be an outdoor title threat.

Hes never really had a full outdoor preparation as hes been coming in out of race shape due to injuries. Towards the end of 2022 he was cracking into the top 5 pretty often.

Imo to start a thread and title it this way just shows that you feed off being the center of negativity. And really aren’t for the sport.

It comes off like you’re just sitting back waiting for the kid to fail so you could rejoice.

Good to see he’s wearing the Alpinestars Tech Air vest system, should help him avoid injury and be good feedback for product development.

After the injuries that dude has been through, most people would have given up on racing.

And they’d be smart for it. Austin’s long term health should take precedent.

Austin’s riding is bad right now. His reaction times looks slow. He doesn’t seem to be riding with any instinct.

He should hang it up and think about his long term health imo.  Brain or no brain I’d be very concerned about another hit to his head.  Heck he looked a little stunned/dazed when he was knocked down at Tampa and it was basically a tip over.

Going balls to the wall has never worked for him.

um, this plan puts him at 30y of age moving to 450s? That's a good plan?

I want nothing more than to see Forkner get through the season healthy. That's it. It's been brutal as a fan watching everything he's gone through. I can only imagine what his parents and wife feel when they watch him race.

Austin DOES NOT need to go “balls to the walls” outdoors this year. I don’t even know if he’s finished a outdoor season other then his first one when he turned pro. I just want to see him make it a full year in one piece and see how he does next year.

Crazy to think he could be at Sextons level right now. But I guess Alessi never got to RVs level, AC never got to Webbs, Barcia never got to Elis.

If any of you are actually shocked to see Forkner repeat his exact same tendencies year after year.. Are you even paying attention?
