So let's review racecraft. When Jett gets the lead and cruises to a 3 second win, all is good, no matter where anyone else starts. When Sexton does the same it's because others put themselves in bad positions and he doesn't deserve any credit. This comes from an Eli fan.

You’re both off-base with this one.

So, Chase didn’t Chase…. Tomac didn’t Tomac and Jett didn’t Jett.

Made for a very interesting Saturday night.

Off base? All I did was state the facts of the opinions I read here. Maybe you're off based and a bit biased.

There are plenty of comments on Vital about how Jett wouldn't have won so easy if Tomac was ready or Sexton's bike was better last year. Also plenty this year about how the Honda's were so good in SMX last year so they should be fine for Supercross this year. We often only see what affirms our opinions.

As far as Chase goes, he's managed a couple of championships (MX & SX) in the last couple of years and looks fitter and more comfortable this year. I'd guess he's confident no matter who is behind him.

I'm talking about the media narrative. For example, idk if you watch the Title 24 podcast but they gave Chase a hard time all of last year basically saying he needs to ride around the problems.

So far they have given Jett much more grace and that's been consistent across the majority of moto media. Jett gets handled with kiddie gloves while Sexton is held to a higher level of responsibility for his bad performances.

No front end washouts, he didnt even look like the same rider. Someone worked some magic with him in the off season.

Can you blame them? I mean, do you want thousands of screaming teenage girls rioting outside your office because you're "being mean" to Jetty-Poo? 😄

JT is among the worst - he won't say anything remotely critical of JL without first qualifying that he really isn't criticizing him. 🙄

Maybe it depends on how many nasty phone calls they've received from the rider's agent threatening to cut off access to said rider? Speaking of which, has there been a JL (or HL) interview this week to get his perspective on his A1 race? If so, I've missed it and would appreciate a link.

Just one week later and we get a front wheel washout.

Sexton gonna Sexton.

Racing happened and he was dead last. Managed to get to 6th and salvage points. Self induced yes, like Jett last week, yet did a good job of getting as far forward as he could.

No I think it’s you that’s biased- you’re only taking in what you want to take in.

There are many many examples of Jett’s achievements being played down for multiple reasons… Achilles injuries, manufacturer changes, the list is long.

It looked like the front pushed through to me. Let’s rewatch and assess.

I watched it like 5x after your comment. That what I saw, he pushed the front wheel. Maybe Plessinger got into his back wheel after he didn't grease the corner smoothly?

Looked to me like he wasn’t going fast enough for the lean angle he was at. He kind of fell over. Hitting a rock in that rut could have caused that.

I only caught the quick replay last night, haven’t rewatched so I’m happy to be wrong. Doesn’t really matter, dude hit the ground regardless of which end of the bike caused it lol

I have never down played Jett's abilities or accomplishments. All have done is make comparisons that Sexton's talents are downplayed regularly while Jett is hyped by media and fans. Both have won championships and are at the top of the list of contenders. Both have had top level guys out of top form at the time of their championships. Whether it's changing brands or injury. Unfortunately this is part of SX and MX.. Hopefully the media will give equal time to ALL of the top guys.that deserve it. And yes, both Jett and Chase started dead last in one of two races. Chase moved up to 6th, Jett to 12th, both fell  by their own doing. Just stating facts.

It’s crazy how many times Sexton has found himself in last place, and it’s just as insane how well he recovers

Dude was smoking coming from the back. His bike looks so good. But damn, I could have done without a comeback ride lol

Boy this thread sure hasn't aged well. There's plenty of racing left but Sexton really needs to stop Sextoning.

Ride on!

If Sexton gets the hole shot, how boring it would be. Everyone else would be racing for 2nd.

At least he's finding new and exciting ways to do it this year, lol

Looked to me like he was trying to time the gate drop like he did previously (last year?) when he pulled that massive holeshot.

The rest of the field should be happy it didn't work out, because If he got it right tonight he'd be eating his post-race meal before the others rolled off the track. He was cutting into the lead while coming through traffic. Very impressive.

This is chase's title to lose now speed wise (and as a fan)  unfortunatley i can see Webb completely breaking him down mentally.

Chase is a way better rider but I feel like Webb is gonna take this. A rider with one of the best mental games vs one of the worst
