Yeah, it was great.

My favorite part was when Bernardo criticized "reporters" who just say stuff into the mic and then move it over to the athlete without actually asking a question.....which Matthes does ALL THE TIME!!!

In the interview Steve mentions how a simple google search of Jerry shows a funny article from the AMA. So I looked it up myself and had a good laugh. Jerry plays by his own rules. Great dude

Good listen. At the time he did moto TV I thouht it seemed kind of amateurish, but the current coverage could use an interjection of Jerry. I would prefer to listen to him wax eloquent vs. the ridiculous segments they have on the SX broadcasts now.

I sat at the same table as Jerry after a BTLV dual sport event in Vegas, probably some time in the 90's, I remember him saying stuff that 98% of people would love to say, but wouldn't, I thought he was extremely entertaining.

Jerry is absolutely a legend! I wish I had photos of the helmet he did for me. Pretty sure he would remember it. One of the biggest personalities to come out of NETRA racing. I really hope Matthes does a Tommy Norton podcast now!

His part in Frezno smooth was awesome. Apparently he had no script, just made it up on the spot.

It was a great time in racing when he covered. The golden era. I completely forgot about him until this got brought up. Brings back the feels being a little kid watching him.

Jerry B is awesome. We chat on Facebook messenger occasionally, he sends me some graphic design stuff he has in the works, and exchange good stories. Always an entertaining few hours. FAHQ FOR LIFE!

Met him once at the Canterbury snocross.  He was walking through staging asking us riders who we picked for the Anaheim opener race that night.   The next day on our way to the track from the hotel we stopped at the gas station next to the track.  He and a teenager boy where in his truck doing donuts in the snow-covered parking lot of the gas station.

Being a fellow New Englander, he has a special place in my heart. I moved across country and was t shirt shopping at the local Goodwill and actually found a classic FAH-Q shirt, I couldn't believe it. Best Goodwill score ever!

Didn't he start out as a helmet painter? I remember reading an article where there was a photo of one he painted for (I think) Tom Webb, with a design called "clown road kill" 😄

Yes, his helmet painting business was called Black Rainbow. My friend had him do a Clown Road Kill paint job on an Arai helmet in the early 90's, which he's worn once. He displays it like a trophy.
