May as well call Deegan the Tasman Sea (the sea in-between aus and nz). He would've been the next greatest thing if it was for jett from aus and Cole from nz coming across.

Yeah I know it's a terrible analogy but I like it alright.

Seems Davies is faster than Deegan now. Not something new to this sport really is it? Next big thing starts getting beat by someone else new before he hits his stride right? Happens from time to time.

Deegan's mouth is still the fastest 🤣

Deegan 84 points (3 points off the lead)

Davies 72 points.

There’s enough of a difference in points that I wouldn’t be surprised to hear Star tell Davies to keep out of Deeg’s way.

Cole Davies has taken to sx like a duck to water, like 17yo Haiden in the mx series. Haiden still looks raggedy any given lap in sx although I do believe that send for send he is the fastest. Will be interesting to watch unfold

Deegans game won’t play with Davies, with him being a Kiwi you just don’t give a fuck about guys like Deegan. Davies is the next BT. So good to see another Kiwi up on the top step.

Cole Davies is EVERYONES problem right now, he could be the next big thing, speed for days and always looks calm and in control.

Yeah, he's incredible.  Very calm as you say, centred on the bike, smooth and not in the least bit rattled...including by Deegan's bullshit. NZers don't get phased by that kind of stuff.

So much for Deegan being the next challenger to Jett.  Where are all his gurglers now?

Deegans biggest problem is his inability to cash the checks the act he has been putting on requires. It goes from badass “Gorilla of the class” to “Shit slinging baboon”. Julian had a rough night but is 100% legit in this thing for the long run, Cole Davies as we all have seen is very talented and I haven’t seen his MX skills but he looks amazing on an SX track. Add in Kitchen, (healthy) Shimoda, RJ and others and this could have been even worse for Deegan. He was meant to dog walk these guys on the depleted West coast but still no redplate??

I want him to win, so he goes 450 asap just to see if he talks shit while struggling to crack the top 5.

Counting the heat races and all the main+triple crowns his results are looking like this so far :

1/5/3/3/1/1/3/2/4

Not very bad, but not as good as everyone would habe expected so far. That makes a 2.56 average place finish.

Take out the heat races, leaving just the races that count: 5/3/1/3/2/4. Average of 3.00
Like you said not bad, but not great for someone who was claiming pre-season that no one else was on his level.

His biggest problem is overriding, clearly in panic mode, he need to clean it up, I'll even quote Ricky "gotta to slower to go faster" haha.

On Davis though, extremely extremely impressive in SX, this guy is going to win a lot.

He reminds me so much of Reed. Kind of looks like him too in the eyes haha

I said the same thing last night. Looks a lot like young Chad

The way Cole is riding, they are going to have to open up the wallet to have that discussion. You don't give away a potential top 3 bonus check because D might need some points in the middle of the season.

At some point soon i think they might need to get brian to back off sone.

Watching him ranting in the team hauler was hard to watch.

I actually felt bad for haiden. He looked like he just wanted to be left alone and could imagine him thinking "stfu and leave me alone already"

I see the future🎁

Deegan will end up like a Pastrana, Axell or the hill brothers.

Davies will end up a SX racer

He's still gotta be the favorite for the title against this field and can win any race he starts up front, but at no point has he ever been a guy in SX that can destroy the field or string wins together. Juju can take this thing the distance.

Right, everyone needs to start separating Haiden's outdoor speed and mx speed. He's not fluid on a sx track like Juju or Davies. Everyone gives him some kind of pass because of his starts but he got the start in the second main and got beat by Cole straight up. His starts, while not great, aren't completely awful either. He's at the back of the top 10. This is a depleted regional sx field. If he was what everyone claims he is he would blow through the pack to the front.

This championship is actually getting pretty good though even with this weak field. Smith is in the mix and Davies has the confidence he can win. I'm not sure who'll win this

Nah. There's 6 rounds left. 3 of them being E/W shootouts. With how the east lineup is looking these 3 races will be crucial for this West title. Easy to make up 10 points there in a single race if you beat most east riders.

Had Davies not crashed lap 1 Deegs would only be up 5 points on him. Through 4 rounds.

I have deep deeep insider analysis… “#100 rides so pretty. #38’s outfit doesn’t look good, it’s all choppy”.

My wife🤣🤣

Davis performance in Glendale isn't surprising. He won 2 12min races, he did something similar in San Diego in his 2nd ever start, Led half of the main, crashed but still had a really fast pace, kid is just 17, has done only 4 races but has managed to have  a 50% podium rate and a couple of heat race wins, he's good a very SX suited style and won't be long before he switches that #100 for a #1E/W.

IMO with this attitude of sending it I don't see a bright future for him in the 450 class. Bacia used to rev shit out that 250 and we all know how it turned out in the 450 class for him. It will bite you and will bite hard plus all seasoned competitors. I just can't see it. Mayby it's just me, dunno..

I think he'll put the work in to improve in SX. Whatever critique you have of him, you can't deny he works his ass off. His ceiling is just limited in SX compared to some of these other young guns. And to be clear, I'm only talking sx. He's going to ruin these guys when they switch to mx and I could definitely see 450 mx titles for him. I don't see it in SX IMO

He won’t get away with those big crashes for much longer too.

Depleted field? Smith, Davies and Beaumer are for real. Haiden isn't getting starts at all either.

Go back to A1 and as soon as it was announced Kitchen was out everyone said this was the weakest field ever for the West and to just give Deegs the championship. Glad it’s turning out like it is but it was depicted as a depleted field at the start.

You should tell that to the Deegan's.

It was cool to see Cole wanting in on the smack talk. The interview with his Dad was great. These folks have a sense of humor, seem genuine and have class.
